@Crimsonorblue22 Hudy is good at her job but she can't work miracles.
@Marco There has to be more to the story. Might just be his injury history.
Interestingly enough Grand Canyon has been trying to field a real team lately. Coached by Dan Majerle.
@Marco MSU, KU, Duke, Kentucky.
I think the 5th team is up in the air. I would listen to arguments for Nova, Louisville or Florida. Maryland would be in consideration if I felt Turg was a better coach...
Ended up at Grand Canyon.
Methinks something got buried here.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I think McBride is closer to Tharpe (w/o the stupid) than Mason but I like the overall optimism.

I expect Duke to struggle
You thought Kentucky would be bad last year. :p
It's Duke and they have dudes, I'll wait and see.

We aren't going to have 9 losses this year
Schedule is really tough, I could see it.

@BeddieKU23 thinking we don't get Nix. Depends how many guards we need. If we need just two I'd love for it to be Thompson and Mane. Think Davis is very realistic and obtainable though. Could live with Thompson and Davis.
I agree to an extent. I want Thompson for sure and I think he is someone that could really pair well with McBride due to his bigger size and skill.
Davis with McBride isnt a big enough backcourt imo. I dont see Davis a starter at KU or a difference maker at that size and average athletic ability at best.
Mane mentioned KU as one of the 4 schools showing the most interest. I really liked his video. All the combo guard intangibles and he is a plus athlete. That kid has NBA potential at his size as a pro PG
Yeah I really like Mane as well and hope he is prioritized.
@BeddieKU23 Louisville the front runner?

Think we could get RJ Davis.

@approxinfinity Did Kawhi go to the Lakers? I'll tell you, I just don't see him co-existing with LeBron.
Whaaaat
It would take a miracle to go bowling this season.
He was a KC sports radio pioneer, he was also a known racist. I've been banging this drum for a long time. I didn't listen to his program, I purposefully avoided 810 sponsors and encouraged others to do the same.
Also I will just add it is remarkable that there is next to no one out there saying he was a stand up guy and that this an unfortunate situation/mistake. There are reasons he was widely unliked within not only the station but the KC sports media/scene in general. There are many stories you can find of him being a complete chud. Also keep in mind that it obviously wasn't just this one incident. If he were a good guy, didn't have the history he has and was liked/respected he would have survived this. It's never just one thing.

Late riser kind of kid. Not sure how much interest KU has right this second but Self will be on him this summer to evaluate.
Poking around it seems like he is Louisville's to lose.
KKk finally out at 810
Profile claims 6'9''
@FarmerJayhawk odd profile for top 50 kid. Recruiting just picking up for him?
@Texas-Hawk-10 Agree that Garrett is a PG.
I had just seen it mentioned a lot that Grimes was gone regardless. I think the timeline of events supports your theory/claim.
Regardless of what would have happened, next year's team would be a lot worse without Dot, imo. Super glad he returned.
Texas Hawk 10 said:
@approxinfinity Grimes waited out Dotson's decision. Had Dotson stayed in the draft, Grimes would've stayed at KU and been the lead guard next season in his natural position. And AAC POY is his ceiling because he's good enough to do that in that league by his senior year of he stays that long.
Interesting. I heard different from other people down in Texas but I trust that you are relaying what you know/have heard. Appreciate it.
Woodrow said:
Sounds like Self and KU are going to try and help Grimes become eligible this year.
Good. Makes sense too, the parting could be seen as mutually beneficial.
I wonder what the waiver claim will be about. If KU gets a Notice from the NCAA that would be cut and dry, anything else and I don't see him being eligible immediately.
Why though? The US doesn't have an official language so I see no issue with translating the tests.
@approxinfinity interesting notion. I would think Dotson's development would have been stifled off the ball. Dotson appears to be the player more worth developing at pg and is definitely more of a "Bill Self" type player. Of course another consideration is that Bill recruited two players that didn't fit together at all Bill isn't omnipotent but some warning signs were there. In general I am weary of Texas prospects, it's still hard to evaluate them compared to other high prospect density areas.
It could be argued Selby was a higher profile bust.
@justanotherfan part of that as well is most of those international rosters being worse than most KU opponents. But I agree that A playing out of position hurt his game and the team. Self was rigid again in this instance.
To be clear, my quite eloquent post was because at this point I'm not too concerned about where he ends up. Though I guess it bears repeating that I don't think Houston would be a good fit. It's not like Sampson is less of a hardass than Self, perhaps moreso even.

KU likes this guy. A LOT. https://247sports.com/Player/Mady-Sissoko-46051902/ ↗
Also was Enaruna’s teammate. Can’t hurt if he likes it at KU.
Good, good

I want OSU to be good and relevant. It's good for the Big 12, which is good for us.
@BeddieKU23 There hasn't been much more of a complete disaster than the Porters at MU. It's perfectly "MU."
I wouldnt' call it a "disaster." The hype sort of sparked that program from the cellar back to mediocrity.
Back from "Kim Anderson" to normal Miz levels.
BeddieKU23 said:
Another bs move, he will be fired the yr he leaves or at the point he picks Kentucky
Enh, I am pro this move. Anyone know if Xavier Foster's dad can coach?
Woodrow said:
Okie St officially hired Cannen Cunningham who is the older brother of Cade. I know that had been rumored, but made official today.
Strong move. Safe to not invest any more time into Cade for the staff.
Some good stuff on Moss here too @KUSTEVE
Josh is Mich all the way
Dotson's team imo
@approxinfinity people sleepin on Cam
@FarmerJayhawk @Crimsonorblue22 Would be wild to have two 2022 commits soon...
@Crimsonorblue22 mom and dad?
I'd take either one for sure.
Would hope Dick is a KU lock. Think of the commentary possibilities.
Some guys just have crazy unexpected development in college.
Charlie is from Chicago

Armstrong didn't qualify
That's what I was guessing. Thanks for confirming.
@justanotherfan And moreover almost any kid in the top 40 is likely still playing college ball or is pro hooping somewhere.
@BeddieKU23 Even if McBride is good, we need another really good guard imo. We have a lot of wings currently.
@BeddieKU23 Hadn't heard about Armstrong. It's pretty curious for lower level guys, but I can't blame them. Nobody has to go to college and kids are starting to realize it.
I wonder about the full story here though. AZ was at 14 scholarship players before he left.

Makes sense. Nothing out there that can impact this years team. Might find a mid-year worth taking but who knows.
4 spots open regardless- 3 seniors + 1 open.
Dotson, De Sousa & Agbaji could have decisions to make next year. Safe to say Dotson is gone, Silvio is a wild card. I think we get year 3 from Ochai.
So I'd imagine the staff has 5 spots to sell
Agree, no point in using it.
As far as recruiting I think the only must get is a high impact PG. Bill seems to know this based on recruiting. Won't complain with other impact signings but anything else would be gravy and depth.
@BeddieKU23 Recruit well, get swept by Bill. Rinse repeat.
