Miami struggling with Drake. That one Miami booster spent a LOT of money for this to be the result. :face_with_tears_of_joy:
Matt Painter double digit seed losses...
16 seed (2023)
15 seed (2022)
13 seed (2021)
12 seed (2016)
11 seed (2011)

FDU was 20-15 coming into the game. Their best win all year was........actually they didn't have a single good win. Only P5 school they played was Pitt and they lost by 22. Pretty remarkable...
They are also only in the tournament because Merrimack wasn't allowed in. They lost their conference title game to them.
Ahahahaha @Texashawk indeed
1 shot for Edey in the last 12 minutes fwiw, so that might be what you heard @KirkIsMyHinrich

Zach Edey one shot in the 2nd half against the shortest team in D1. Good stuff, Matt Painter
Box score says 3 for 4 in the 2nd half but they definitely didn't get him the ball enough.
Oh I just heard them say that on TV without checking. They were probably wrong
I went over the play by play on ESPN because it seemed so absurd.
@HawkChamp said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
@BShark yeah but the ratings are kinda sus. The eye test never held up for them in my opinion
Their guards might be the worst in the tournament.

He'd be flipping burgers right now if he was even like... 6'8''.
This is as excited as I've been all tournament.
@HawkChamp said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
Purdue was probably the weakest one seed I’ve ever seen honestly
We were rated worse than them this year. Though this loss should uh...change things.
I'm going off on twitter.
MOST OF THESE KIDS WERE IN D2 LAST YEAR

And they told us the transfer portal would ruin CBB.
Did the opposite

Bshark literally told us for weeks that Purdue were fraudulent.
Who’d have thought this though 😂
I actually gave them too much credit.
Former D2 dude, 29% three point shooter. GAME OF HIS LIFE.
YES!!!!!
Guess they were a bit due to make one.
I will be cooking on twitter dot com
WE ARE CLOSING IN
Purdue has the fear in them. No one wants to even shoot right now...
@DanR said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
IF they can hit a damn three, LOL. What a game.
Kinda wild that Edey isn't even getting shots up.
I'm SO HERE for Matt Painter struggling with a 16 seed btw.

@BShark we good! Guess what I had to eat the last 2 days? Might have enough for tonight.
I had some pork shoulder. UNDERRATED meat.
@HawkChamp Yeah let's get past the Hogs first.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Yeah bad tweet from someone, I should have researched it myself first, you are correct.
Lowest points in a tournament game since 1944 is 51... ISU DESTROYED that record.

@kjayhawks said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
I’m not sure I’ve seen a team go this ice cold at this level. The rebounding game is even ISU has half the turnovers as Pitt. They can’t make nothing, a layup, a wide open 3 or free throw.
This might be the most inept offensive showing in the history of the tourney. 11-54. 1-17 from 3. Under 50% on FTs. But they have 4 minutes to turn it around...
The craziest part is that Pitt has been a bad defensive team this year.
McCullar called this KU team the best locker room he’s been on since he arrived on college. He said the gesture from Dick was an example of that, as everyone is looking out for each other and trying to help.
"This is the closest team I've ever been on,” McCullar said. “We do everything together, on and off the court from McCarthy Hall to Allen Fieldhouse. We're super close."
More here but that quote stood out to me: https://247sports.com/college/kansas/board/103719/Contents/inside-gradey-dicks-nil-gift-to-ku-basketball-teammates-206736174/?page=1 ↗
Uconn game should be fun lmao

Not excusing ISU but this probably messed with them a little.
Notwithstanding, how did we lose to them???? Zero FGs in the first 9 minutes...Wonder the longest anyone has ever gone without a FG???
That was a wild loss. We proceeded to whip them without Norm and without Kevin the 2nd half of the big 12 tournament game.
I think they had Grill both regular season games against us? He was big for their spacing...
@Texas-Hawk-10 said in 2023 Transfer Portal:
Another wing I would be extremely interested in is Chris Ledlum from Harvard. Not a 3 point shooter (sub 30%), but averaged 18.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg last season. He's also an above average defender. I doubt he'd duplicate those numbers here against Big 12 competition, but he could be a #2 scorer for KU next season. Coming from Harvard, you know he's smart and would likely be able to pick up Self's system pretty quickly.
He was on my mid season watch list. I have not heard that we contacted him.
I know of two that we have contacted and are serious about but neither is in the portal yet. Both rate higher than anyone currently in the portal if you look at evanmiya.com One name has been mentioned directly on the board (Harrison Ingram) the other I think has circulated to most via dms.
@Texas-Hawk-10 said in 2023 Transfer Portal:
Whoever said Jaemyn Brakefield above, I agree with that. He'd be nice fit here. Not a sniper like Gradey, but 35% from deep is good enough to keep defenses honest. Don't think I'd want him headlining the transfer class, but as the no. 2 guy, he'd be a nice get since he's a proven double digit scorer in a P5 conference. Biggest downside to Brakefield is he's not a good defender at all.
I LOVE his skill set. Would imagine that he will be in high demand.
Not excusing ISU but this probably messed with them a little.
We good.
Good sign!
Xavier has risen.

A few upsets brewing early today…
Fraud coaches (Drew, Miller) aren't doing well this morning. Sad for them.
@wissox One of the best settings for it is the final four. Usually a lot of coaches hanging around.
@wissox said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
LOL, bragging about an NIT runner up. It's like PJ Fleck had rings made up for his team a few years ago because they finished 2nd in the BIG division in football.
When you have no real accolades but are trying to sell a book.
Fran is one of the least friendly coaches out there. And hey look no one says you have to be friendly but he is one that can't even pretend to smile. Gregggg Marshall, Gard and Boeheim are also on that list in terms of guys I've ran into. Bruce honestly isn't a bad guy, just super awkward. Boynton at OSU is a good dude but I wonder if OSU will be running out of patience there.
ETA: I loved Roy too. Just consistently a good dude. Most of my interactions there were when I was a kid.
Arkansas tried to let Illinois back in that game. When they play to their ceiling they are very good but they are so young.
@benshawks08 They have the best player in the country too imo. Though apparently he is nursing a groin injury.
@DanR Don't think it be Dooley because of w/e the heck his role is. So other options would be Case and Kurtis.
