It's a whole new Malik Newman wow.
Terrible no call there Higgins.
Good thing KSU really sucks.
Can't score. Missing jumpers with tired legs.

Need a basket
Haven't had one in awhile. Since like 3 minutes to go in the first half. At least score with fts though to end the first half.

Bad call on doke
Higginsed.
We are shooting 70% though which is obviously insane and why we are ahead.

As good a half as we could have played. Looking good.
Cut the turnovers and wowee.
12 turnovers and KSU is up 18-5 points off turnovers. KSU basically can't even score the ball in the half court when Silvio isn't in the game on Wade lol.
Yes.
It's 4AM in Bosnia and Billy is up watching this game. Don't hate Billy guys, hate his situation and dislike others around him that caused it.

Sam just shot a worse three than Garrett. WOOF.
And I am serious. I will always admit when KU simply misses on a player.

How did both of the descendents of Maurice King not end up at Kansas. Wainwright brothers look like twins.n
KU didn't want them.

Whistle happy refs are fouling up KU key players.
Every player is key when you have 7 rotation players.
But yeah welcome to the Higgins show.
JayHawkFanToo said:
...and that is why Silvio is not playing more.
ROUGH sequence

Fouls gonna kill us
Turnovers too honestly.

Wade shoots 45.3% from 3. Don't come off him.
Silvio was totally lost.
Refs out to get Doke smh
Cunliffe stone hands about 3 times already yeesh
We are shooting 85% wuuuut
14-4 rebounds in favour of KU and KSU can't shoot. Crazy.

Uncle Fester doesn't think KU can win a national championship this season. Bummer.
Didn't he also think we should have Mitch start the 2nd half against A&M?

3 on the floor!!!!
All it took was 3 fouls on Garrett, 2 on Vick. He is playing well though for the most part at least.
Crimsonorblue22 said:
3 on Marcus don't like Marcus and Mitch in together
Yeah when you are a 7 player team it's tough when you have guys 6 & 7 in at the same time.
If we could just stop turning it over...it might really be out of hand.

He said things that they look for are like - -how teams will guard other players, - -how the Coach reacts coming out of a timeout , plays that are set up and such.
Oh so the pick is KU. SHUT IT DOWN.

@bshark Are you saying its on Howard?
Howard is kicking ass this year and is the lead on Romeo.
BeddieKU23 said:
His game is so smooth like Grimes. We can't let this one get away. We better not let him get away
Mitch is much better than Silvio right now, that's why he plays more.
@BeddieKU23 I think we could take both. I feel he is a RS candidate and would be doing so at Wiscy or A&M as well.
Payne in the E:60 pretty much confirmed Appling raped that girl...
So much ado about nothing.
@HighEliteMajor Some pretty good points, I'd like to hit on some of them.
This is a great coaching job by Self, no doubt. He doesn't have a lot of options but he is playing the best ones imo. He has correctly identified who should be playing the most minutes. I wish we were getting more out of Vick but that's on Vick. We also lost Lucas from last year. The total sum is lose Frank, Josh , Landen, Bragg and Coleby. Add: Newman, Garrett, Mitch, Doke. I think it's a net loss because of how special Frank and Josh were. However Doke is a hefty upgrade from Lucas, and Mitch believe it or not is giving marginally more than Bragg statistically but also does all the little things Bragg didn't do.
My last post probably reads kind of bad but Mitch is definitely better than Silvio. I was just hoping to see some more of him in what I am thinking will be one of the very few comfortable wins this team has the rest of the year. I almost don't want to see Silvio at all in a very tight game. I do fully expect Silvio to contribute next year as well.
With Sam and Garrett, I had this view of Sam before the season started. The sum of everything I had read, gathered from watching his ASU games, gleaned from digging into his numbers at ASU and just the general scuttlebutt led me to believe he certainly wasn't going to be a factor this season. He was pretty much Svi insurance and thank God we didn't have to cash it in, Svi has been GREAT this season. There is zero doubt in my mind that Garrett is the far superior option to Cunliffe for this team. A lot of fans get really hung up on his offense, but this team doesn't need another scorer. It needs Garrett, he is glue. Defends the crap out of the ball and generally moves it on offense. I certainly don't expect him to can a three every game, but I do think he can continue to flash some of the other stuff he did today against A&M. Good cuts, fundamental basketball in general, and take it to the rack. Also going forward, Garrett might start next year depending on how things break while I expect Cunliffe to basically not play at all again, if he is still on the team.
With Graham I wouldn't be concerned but he has to wear those anti-cramp things and has been shooting poorly lately. Hopefully he comes out of that.
I hope we offer soon.
It means retweet.
@kjayhawks It seems evident to me that Sam just isn't going to be part of the team this year. For better or for worse.
I agree that Graham needs some rest. The team has tilted off its axis when he has gone out in the past this season. However, Newman seems improved now, so maybe going forward Self could try to get him a breather here and there.
Silvio was fairly lost on offense again (I know he was only in two minutes, so it's hard to tell too much) but he managed to be okay on the defensive end. It would have been nice to see Self try to sneak him some more minutes for sure. Mitch is the "safe" option though, even when he is getting dumpstered inside by A&M's post players. Ultimately it didn't matter today. I'm fine with Mitch at the end of games though, unless he proves he can't make fts. Depending on the situation of course. If we have the lead and the other team has the ball going for the last shot, I want Doke out there.
Missouri fans getting their hopes up is always just the best.
0 minutes too. That gorilla glue Self uses is really strong.
@DCHawker You won't find me defending the B12 today. I'm just not surprised. I thought people who were thinking WVU would wax UK were nuts.
@cragarhawk Imo WVU's system marginalizes talent. They played 11 guys today. They foul it up. It helps them hang with more talented teams but it also imo prevents them from ever being elite.
cragarhawk said:
Has Huggins lost his team? Or are they just tired? Pressing all the time taking it's toll? I mean. I know they'll be ready and give us a run or beat us in our building cause that's the way of things.... But what's up with them. They were so hot just a few games ago.
They just got smothered by UK's lengthy athletes in the 2nd half. Once UK stopped turning it over (so, their own mistakes) they basically took control. Took some wild shots for WVU to stay in it. UK will be a tough out in the NCAAT for anyone.
JayHawkFanToo said:
Florida and Tennessee are the #2 and #3 teams in the SEC while ISU and Baylor are the bottom 2 teams in the Big 12 so not necessarily unexpected. WVU, OU an TCU should have won. Disappointing show by the conference to say the least.
I was trying to drive this point home earlier about Tennessee. If Tennessee was a traditional power they would be ranked higher right now imo.

In his post game presser Kennedy said he told his guys to foul Doke in the last five minutes, said they didn’t do it hard enough to get the calls. Doke was also fouled on the floor posting up twice, they just weren’t shooting fouls.
Ssshhhhh. Don't detract from the fun narrative.
That dunk will do it! Good night!
Kentucky should win this now tbh.
I only care that KU won today.
