Daum is a very good player but they are still sub 100 on Kenpom. Maybe if KU has a big emotional win they overlook them. Hope not.
If Langford signs early it's absolutely not KU.
Yeah, KU was never really in it. Nor should we have been. Would 100% rather have Chandler/Hurt.

Whitman killed us...flaked out and ran off Colby at the same time. DC would be played 17-20 min a game.
I prefer the alternative of no post depth to 20mpg out of Coleby.

Gonna try not to overreact to this one.

But at least he uses a rational approach that is better than a WAG, right?
Might be interesting to compare kenpom to various polls and see which is more of an indicator after the regular season is finished. I think perhaps the biggest issue is how hard it is for his model to account for massive infusions of talent like what happened with Missouri. Missouri I feel will be better than the 81st team in the country even with Cuonzo's "coaching".
Also I think WVU is a step behind KU but also clearly above the rest of the conference. Otherwise I actually agree with your tiers pretty well.

@BShark so far SZ is not to great at hiring women's bb coaches either. Would that be 0-3? I'm pretty sure he's lost us more than he's raised.
Wouldn't mind seeing him get canned. My comment about KU not being a football school was meant to be a bit snarky and imply that he probably gets fired from any other AD job for his football hires. If Beaty gets fired, Zenger had better go with him IMO.
Pretty sure Duke and KU passed on Coleman.
JayHawkFanToo said:
You are missing the main issue...yes, ESPN3 is fairly available but it is blacked out in the entire state and the extended KC Metro Area. For example, the KSU exhibition game against Fort Hays is coming up at 2:00 pm on Fox and readily available; KUβs exhibition games? Not so much.
Fox Sports KC probably has about the same reach as Spectrum Sports.
@dylans There are 6 "problem" games. They are available to easily stream online. Everything else is on a major network (ESPN/ESPN2/FS1/CBS). I guess I'm the only one that just fails to be annoyed by it anymore because you and JayHawkFanToo are far from alone in your opinion on the matter.
ESPN3 I would say is readily available.
KSU basically has the same contract now. Except they have more games than KU in terms of the ones that are harder to watch. The pitfalls of being KSU I guess.
FOX Sports Kansas City will air the games to the entire state of Kansas as well as the Kansas City metro area, while fans can also view the broadcasts on K-StateHD.TV everywhere. In addition, all 10 games will be available to stream live outside the state of Kansas on ESPN3 across WatchESPN platforms.
So I don't see how this is any different. I would guess Missouri is similar with a lot of their games being on the SEC network, can't be bothered to check. No doubt the SEC situation is better for tier 3 rights.
Also let's be real most people do not care at all about volleyball or womens hoops. I say this as someone that watches some of the volleyball matches.

Pretty in depth stuff for each team preview. Has not got to KU yet.

Ken Pomeroy seems to be bullish on the Big 12 (see my post above).
Even Ken admits his preseason stuff is pretty rubbish.

@HawkChamp I think KU, OU, Texas, TCU, T Tech, and WVU all get bids to the tourney. No doubt the conference is on a downward spiral, even with 6 bids to the tourney. The overall talent in the conference is the lowest its been in a long time. The Pac 12 dirty money is flowing like a river, two ACC teams are accused of making bids for recruits, and the grand FBI investigation that was going to straighten all this out is looking more and more like a planned hit on Adidas to benefit Nike. I'm certainly not saying that Pitino didn't deserve to walk the plank, but I wonder if we really knew the truth if it wouldn't reveal a whole bunch of big name Nike school coaches have done the same things as Pitino, if not worse.
I love how some national donk said on Oct 6th that more HUGE FBI NEWS was coming within 2 weeks. OOPS.
Agree the league is way down in talent.
I think ISU makes the tournament too though. Bet they finish in the top 6 of the league. Prohm is a good coach and they have talent.
Zenger isn't good at identifying football coaches. Good thing Kansas isn't a football school. Other things he has done have been good. ALL OF KU'S BASKETBALL GAMES ARE AVAILABLE ON TV. ALL OF THEM.
@Crimsonorblue22 Did not see a box score sadly. All stats were from a Wisconsin twitter account.
Wisconsin beats Missouri, 74β66, in closed scrimmage. Happ 17p (5-6 FTs), 8r Davison 14p (5-5 FTs) Iverson 12p, 6r Trice 11p (2-4 3FGs)
The #Badgers shot 25-53 (47%), including 8-20 (40%) from 3FGs and 18-24 (75%) on FTs Mizzou shot 17-57 (30%) overall and 4-22 (18%) 3FGs.
Michael: 24 pts (5-16 FGs) Johntay: 11 pts (3-10 FGs)
Kid is ridiculous. Little pick me up clip after that tough football loss for y'all. @Crimsonorblue22 @jayballer54 @kjayhawks

We gave it away
Yes. Football is a total effort but man, special teams today were the big key. Actually outgained KSU!
Need a punter badly. I'd have open try-outs if I were Beaty....
blahhhhhh
@Crimsonorblue22 Just cover the kickoff first lol.
HOLY SHIT
Sims or Pringle who has worse hands? lol
Does KU have the worst punter in d1?
Special teams is a trainwreck. If they were mildly competent maybe KU is ahead...
kjayhawks said:
Dineen has to make that tackle vs freshman QB
Completely agree. Still forced a punt at least.
@Crimsonorblue22 Yes. Also important to know they have a top 15 recruit guard/wing and then a couple other nice guards as well. So he isn't really the focal part of the offense.

Need 6 here and stop to stay alive. Darn it's so frustrating because we should up in this game but everyone thought it was gonna be a beat down
TOUCHDOWNNNNNNNN
David McCormack 12 pts 11 rebs in Oak Hill's first game.
@JayHawkFanToo This is the first I've heard of it but I've been wanting to get a multi-directional indoor antenna. I'll have to check total cost with a splitter but this is something I want to get soon.

@BShark Cable companies are craven buzzards. They attach a vacuum cleaner to your wallet. I got a flier that said " Phone, hi-speed internet, and cable tv only $29.99". I thought..well, even if the cable is just local channels, that's not bad at all. So, I called. It's 29.99 for each item, not including equipment rental, and taxes. So, the 29.99 package could be mine for only 119.88. Buzzards.
LOL.

Check out the mohu antenna if you live in a city. Unless you like climbing on the roof to adjust your outdoor antenna.
We use Sling but I might change to utube tv for better sports lineup.
Mohu looks pretty great. Good enough range even if you aren't in the city as long as you are close enough. Looks like some 60-65 mile range options.
@JayHawkFanToo Exactly. I dropped Dish many years ago and did not look back. I now happily have PSVUE.
Well my apologies looks like they are now doing the RIGHT THING. Skylar Thompson is in.
@jayballer54 KSU has a long history of letting QBs with concussions play.
@jayballer54 Yes it was a scrimmage. Does not count. Word is Kruger experimented a lot with line-ups but still...

Delton has a concussion. Despicable from KSU coaches if he comes back in...
not sure if he has a concussion does he? - -If he does then ya can't/shouldn't be playing
He did not know where he was after that big hit.

correction - Wainwright is gone. Lecomte, Acuil, McClure, Omot and Lindsey are still there.
Yeaaaah it's going to be a struggle for Drew this year. McClure, Omot and Lindsey were all 5ppg or less last year. With Lindsey doing that with 22 mpg.
HawkChamp said:
@BShark Acuil is still there and maybe WainWright too. No Motley though which will be much easier for us. I think we sweep Failor again.
Yeah Acuil is a serviceable big.
If basically all the good players go to NBA feeder leagues. Hope that is not the case though.
@HawkChamp He is. Not sure how many other really good players they have though. Bama is pretty talented.

How many 4-time All Americans have there been in history, not just KU but all schools?
However many there are, there won't be any more.
Unless college ball totally changes. It just might too, NBA commish wants to end oad.
WVU is good, will be the clear 2nd best team. After that is where I worry. Logjam of mediocre teams from 3-9.
@JayHawkFanToo Wow yeah, guess they don't want your business.
Delton has a concussion. Despicable from KSU coaches if he comes back in...

Comcast is by far the worst but all the rest are not far behind. I used to have a really good provider but after 2 takeovers it is now every bit as bad as the others. My contract is coming up for renewal and they want me to pay $50 more per month than what they charge new customers; 10 years of loyalty donβt count for jack. I am done with them.
Did you threaten them with switching? Usually works. Esp now when many of them are desperate due to cord cutters.
HawkChamp said:
Yep Big 12 will be WAY down this year. We should win by three or four games and lose only once or twice.
Seems like many KU fans know this but so many others are in denial.
What is happening I do not understand.

Correction: UT Arlington 99 Oklahoma 84
OU gonna win the conference though right? lol
