Too many good games on TV for me!
Saw that Shaka and UT lost to SMU 71-68.
I'll post more that are relevant to the conference or top teams if I see them. Others feel free to join in.
@HighEliteMajor Watch out, the ref defenders might get upset. :joy:
It happens on the professional level even. A player gets a rep, and it sticks with them. So many refs have to make it about them instead of the game. It's a power trip job for some.
@dylans Nope. Other threads on this are still here.
Third thread on this can we get a fourth?!

They don't think, they know. :p
Pretty sure they dissolved the criteria and just put players up there if they feel they deserve it.
Sherron and Cole deserve it.

@HawkChamp I live in a small town which Kansas is full of, no cox out here.
Yeah I can't get cable in any form due to being in a rural area. I do have legit access to ESPN3, and I have no issue using a VPN to bypass the blackout.

@mayjay not here, some folks on twitter and Facebook, should've cleared it up. Just plain chicken sh** IMO.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah twitter, reddit, facebook etc... are all cancer. Any time you have absolutely no barrier to entry and the site is very popular you will get a bad element.
Reactions in this thread have all been bueno. I made a thread too before I saw this one. I think within minutes.
Anyway yeah hopefully Bragg can find himself.

If I remember right we barely bare bear Washburn one year. Think it was tight thru out but we pulled away to win bye double digits. Think it was 2012 or 2013.
62-50 win over Washburn in the 12-13 season is probably what you are thinking of. Last year was only and 18 point win actually, but wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as that one.
Eron Harris and Alvin Ellis. Both were around 20 mpg guys because Izzo. Harris was about 38% from deep.
@HawkChamp Yeah they were okay last year from 3, but they lost a couple shooters. Bridges coming back was huge, but due to their roster he will have to play the 3 now. They just have basically no guard depth. In fact they are basically the opposite of us. Langford and Winston are the only guards they have that I would be interested in for KU. Nairn is okay-ish, but a catch 22 because he can't shoot. I'd happily take like, their 5th post player on this Kansas team. They wouldn't even feel it, and it would help KU tremendously.

Sounds like Ferris state is a decent d2 team, but even then a team with expectations as high as Michigan State should have beat them by 20 or 30. Maybe they completely overlooked the game?
Yeah, MSU is #2 in the country in some polls.
No doubt Bridges missing some time didn't help. They shot VERY poorly.
Here is the box score for reference.
@wrwlumpy I was waiting for this thread! Means basketball season is about to start. Fun as always.
Mitchmari Trayfoot
Hard not to root for this guy...
@HawkChamp I do think he will be better than Bragg. He should also play more by necessity.
Both project as middle of the pack MIAA.
So far one exhibition with an MIAA team is in the books. FSU 116 Central MO 68
Correct @HawkChamp it's Pitt then Hays.

The season hasn't even started yet. I'll wait to form any conclusions about what I see on the court.
We have seasons of evidence from HS. Of course otoh he has never been coached as hard as Self will coach him. I'm hopeful that he can improve his effort before the tournament. I'm not sure he is aloof like Wiggins but he is probably closer to Wiggins than he is Jackson in that regard.
@BeddieKU23 It's going to be a battle, probably all season. If Self solves the riddle in under one season he deserves an award. This has always been the concern with Billy.
Yeah it's a foggy pick.
Also will reiterate based on a recent post: KU def still recruiting Matt Hurt and Hurt is very interested in KU.
Those late 80s KU coaching staffs were ridiculous.
High roller alert.
@BeddieKU23 Didn't look like Self did much coaching in that game.
Just gimme Grimes and two scrubs or bank the schollies. 11 eligible players is enough.
If it's the worth of their current contract only, Wiggins and Embiid are pulling in 148 million each. I assume the question is trickier than that though...
This game tonight is everything you should love about baseball.
dave armstrong voice WOW!
Yeah Davis seems to always get nicked up...
KU senior @Devonte_Graham4: "Thereβs not too many places like being at KU...the way weβre treated here, the fan base, the atmospheres we get to play in...even if you play in the NBA, you wonβt experience anything like playing in college.β #kubball
@HawkChamp The game was up briefly on youtube but got taken down. Only highlights now.
It's just jaybate being jaybate.
@KUSTEVE Who ya got in your line-up tonight?
@justanotherfan Fortunately I think he just needs to be a capable back-up next year.
@Kcmatt7 Doke/Dedric/SDS/McCormack would possibly be the best ever front court under Self. What is the standard there? 2008? Or is it actually 2010.
Kcmatt7 said:
There is potential to have all 3, but I'm pretty confident Dedric is doing his two years and peacing out.
This makes the most sense. Many were surprised he didn't just go pro.
Speaking of Big Dave.

@BShark Many times I felt we could've signed perhaps a real good player that might not be Top 10 or even 20, but we were holding out for the big pick, and we end up missing a guy like MacCormick. I am so happy and relieved we are taking the top 50 guys. UNC made two straight national championship games and winning one title by going that route. Maybe we have a chance at holding on to them longer than a year.
Louisville also got kids in that range. When they won their title their top minute guys were SR, JR, JR, SO, JR, SO.
Tyler Davis called KU his dream school. I have zero doubt KU lands him if they had prioritized him.
I hope he starts by the end of the year. Instead of Svi.
It's a pretty simple chat room @mayjay you'll be fine.
KUSTEVE said:
@BShark Please elaborate...what are they doing differently with recruiting?
Promising playing time/starting spots is a big part. This actually started last year, just didn't work with Trae Young. Being willing to take a kid like McCormack early. That is not intended as a slight towards McCormack, remember I was hoping the staff would take Tyler Davis.

@BShark So then we will have KJ and Chandler right? - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Extremely likely.

@jayballer54 Recruiting Hurt as a wing. JRE is a post guy. Chandler is kind of a hybrid. I do agree it would be tough to pull all three. Likely SDS and McCormack still on the roster. Don't think Dedric would still be around.
Ok I'm going to ask the dumb question now cause I honestly don't know which is which. - -We have 2 lawsons right now right? - we have Dedric of who you mention which I agree he is probably gone wasn't he the one that was like a double guy? - -Then don't we also have KJ is that right - -not sure if that is the right name or not 0 - -but wouldn't he still be here along with Chandler? - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
KJ is the one you are okay with having because the others are sooooo good. He has a bit of that dog in him though, which will help him see the court.
I think he will graduate from KU. Don't see him going pro early.
I also think he will be okay with being a back-up if necessary.
Maybe I am totally wrong though, we will find out.
