Good on Fran for giving the 08 backcourt props.
Bunch of scrub analysts.
HE is insane.
He seems angry.
Excellent thread name.
I'm nervous about this one. Indiana/Duke nervous. Feels like the team has been stealing wins a bit lately and I think it catches up with them tonight with an L.
I bet he ends up in Lawrence.
Yeah defense isn't gonna be great. We should be back to playing big next year and I think Preston will be able to get by against most college 4s.
I just think anyone holding him up to the standard of Porter or Ayton hasn't been paying attention. This is why Porter and Ayton were such crappy misses and yes KU would have had to of hired Porter's dad in some capacity to land him so I can appreciate the integrity of NOT doing that.
Mason's hs stats were pretty damn good. But HS stats are mostly meaningless.
Porter will be an NBA allstar I don't think it's fair to hold other HS players to that standard even Preston who MIGHT be an NBA player.
They won't validate your account if it has a KU related name.
They really hate KU and are delusional about us in general. I guess that isn't that different than Missouri and KSU. Lots of KU pays the refs crap. I think the EJ game damaged them permanently. Been awhile since I've popped over there before last night to see what they were thinking though.
Cyfan is worse than any KSU board imo.
Nike influence with Giles.
Yeah I'm not sure how you watch them both play and say well Lewis is better and/or has more potential. I think he will be a nice player for ISU but probably closer to the 100 range. I think Lewis is NR on Scout which is also ridiculous. I believe a lot of these services are lazy, don't get to many events and piggy back off each other. For rankings 247 is probably my favourite.
ESPN slants towards Nike kids. Also they have Terrence Lewis ranked ahead of Marcus Garrett it's so hard to take them seriously.
He loves KU that's not an issue.
That false start to get it from 2rd and 2 to third and seven was a killer but it shouldn't be a killer. The offense is structured in such a way where consistent execution and explosive plays are pretty difficult. Hill is an exciting player going forward though and Kelce if he can get his head out of his ass has a really bright present and future.
Overall I do not put this loss on Alex. Defensive injuries and the oline was struggling at best.
Sometimes it does. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
And you are right it was McLaughlin. Townsend was in Vegas to see McLaughlin but I don't think he was committed officially at the time. He saw Frank and that was pretty much the end of it I believe the staff went to check him out a couple more times or so and then offered.
I know Jerry had him top 75 might have been top 50. ESPN didn't (maybe still doesn't) rank post grads so that negatively impacted his overall ranking.
Andy is not dissimilar from Marty in that regard. Finding an elite coach is hard though. Hell Denver just fired a coach one year removed from a SB win. Not sure what the answer is fully but I think it involves a different QB. A shame that DJ was hurt though, really felt it in this game.
Should have won with that defensive effort. It was good enough. Didn't sustain a drive until the last one which required 2 4th downs.

Defense just doing enough to keep the team in it.
Ball was tipped, right call.
Steelers are figuring it out this team can't stop the run right now. I get a sinking feeling about this game but I still can't turn away or stop watching. I'm holding out some hope if the offense can get it together!
Offensive plays ran approx.
Steelers 3294349382
Chiefs 10
Yep. I don't think one can really say KU has beet a S16 caliber team. This team will be harshly tested over the next two weeks.

Yeah he's ended up dead wrong with lucas and to some extent mason as well. I get the honesty and I respect him not pumping guys up for the sake of it.
Self has an unbelievable success rate with choosing the right guy's. With KJ I do think there is some long term intrigue, not even saying he would ever start here but if he was on a 4-5 year plan anything can happen. It looks like he will be a last resort anyway.
He and many were high on Mason from what I remember. I know Jerry loved Mason too.

Having two players with the trajectory of Mason and Graham is an incredible luxury that very few team get, not only because of their talent but perhaps more importantly because of the length of their tenure.
Oh for sure. Basically you are trying to find a guard in the 20-90 ranking range that also probably has some kind of limitation when it comes to the NBA. Self has done a GREAT job getting these kinds of players tbqh. EJ, Tyshawn, Graham, Mason, Russ Rob, Sherron etc... I don't typically question Self's recruiting. The Ayton miss sucked but the payoff would have been worth it.
Surprise surprise...
Definitely looks like a good player. Self loves combo guards. His commitment time frame is reportedly the end of this school year or very early in the start of the next school year. And he wants to visit for a KU game this year which I think bodes well.
Edit: I think BHam is usually just brutally honest about how he feels. Lucas is kind of proving him wrong and right at the same time. Lucas has done some good things but his limitations have shown this year defensively. He does work his butt off though and rebounds well and is smart offensively usually. I do agree with him that KJ is NOT on the same type of trajectory as Graham or Mason and that is a concern. Seems like KU is not offering KJ though, so that discussion will likely be moot in terms of relevance for KU boards.
Since I last posted BHam (I know some may disagree with his KU level player talk but he is fairly connected) relayed that he is a top 50 type talent and a combo guard moreso than a pure point.

I love Vick, he's been really good for most of the year. Lately he hasn't been as great but today he had some great hustle plays as you pointed out. I think he struggles offensively to figure out when he should drive or shoot. He's still getting comfortable with this team. Defense is still a big work in progress as we saw yet again today. He's only going to get better
If Vick and Bragg can consistently play better I think this is a FF team. Now, can they be a little less loss on D before the NCAAT? Time will tell but getting minutes should help.

Really likes Norm.
Game is gonna be in the 90s if not both teams over 100 barring horrid shooting.
We generally lose in Ames anyway so yeah.
TCU up on ISU at half. We might get the extra angry version of ISU. This league is tough.
Deep in their heads. Yeesh.
Story of their life.
KSU was favoured today I think.
Do not recommend watching.
If I see a link on youtube I will post it here, will probably be at least a day.
So far absolutely no bad weather! I am right by Topeka fwiw.
Agree. Team has come out poorly every game starting with the UNLV game. I kept thinking for awhile it would get better but it may just be the way it is with this team.
It's been brutal today and the team had really been doing a lot better at the line lately.
Lucky that OSU hasn't scored because lol free throws.

@bskeet Yeah, that's a good take. The Big 12 coaches are unreal this year.
One of the best leagues top to bottom in terms of coaches.
At least they are showing some fight and want to down the stretch. Need to see that all game.
Yeah shooting is hard for this team today.
Opposing post players with a pulse are an issue.
