2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 08, 2021 09:57 AM

Lots of movement yesterday. Portal past 1250 and likely at 1300 by end of week.

Marcus Santos-Silva & Kyler Edwards are returning to Texas Tech after entering the portal.

TCU lands Vanderbilt transfer guard Maxwell Evans

South Carolina lands George Mason SF transfer AJ Wilson

Xavier Johnson picked Indiana.

Myreon Jones picked Florida, big pickup for them.

Dallas Walton of Colorado to Wake Forest

Cameron Tyson- Houston- in the portal

Kevin Easley Jr- TCU- in the portal

Drew Buggs- Methzu- in the portal

Ethan Henderson- Arkansas- in the portal

Starting 5 for next season • Apr 08, 2021 09:48 AM

Yesufu, Thompson, Agbaji, Wilson, McCormack.

Harris & Braun first guards off the bench. Pettiford sprinkles in for experience.

Clemence & Martin as first bigs. Sprinkle in Adams & Lightfoot behind.

If Self lands another big- ala Bishop this is a Top 3 team that could go 10 deep

Can we still buyout his contract?

I'm sure we can get momma Preston to figure out the details

Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer) • Apr 08, 2021 09:31 AM

Getting Yesufu could be a game changer for next years team.

Okay I Know but Hear Me Out • Apr 08, 2021 12:19 AM

Can we still get Ayton?

Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer) • Apr 08, 2021 12:01 AM

@Oldmanhawk

Welcome!

Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer) • Apr 07, 2021 06:15 PM

Competition!

But seriously having 3-4 guards is a great thing, we just saw Baylor win the championship on guard play. I hope we never see another year lacking playmakers at the guard position like we just saw this season. However the cards fall I think we are seeing Self pushing to correct some mistakes

Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer) • Apr 07, 2021 05:43 PM

His PER, 21.5 or 4 pts better then any guard KU had this season.

Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer) • Apr 07, 2021 05:35 PM

Another cool aspect here, even if he doesn't start he's used to it. Was Drake's 6th man but really played starter minutes and in the tournament he was by far their best player

Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer) • Apr 07, 2021 05:34 PM

Wired to score, exactly what the backcourt needed. And if you get the replay of the Wichita ST dunk HELLO

Coach Hot Seat and Players to Poach • Apr 07, 2021 05:30 PM

@Kcmatt7

Was Brown any good this year? I honestly can't remember seeing him this year but I don't think I watched more then 1 AZ game either

Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer) • Apr 07, 2021 05:27 PM

Woo love this addition!!! Kid's a bucket

Coach Hot Seat and Players to Poach • Apr 07, 2021 04:46 PM

@BShark

Mathurin is the only prospect I liked from that team

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 07, 2021 04:12 PM

Arkansas lands its 2nd impact guard, landing tiny but mighty Chris Lykes of Miami. Joins Au'Diese Toney of Pitt

Coach Howard • Apr 07, 2021 09:43 AM

@rockchalkwyo

Thought we saw his impact with Doke in his first offseason here. Excited to see what he can do with Dave/Dajuan/Bryce this summer especially

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 07, 2021 12:24 AM

Kim Aiken of Eastern Washington going to Arizona

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 07, 2021 12:23 AM

Kadary Richmond ended up at Seton Hall.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 07, 2021 12:22 AM

Leading scorer for Iowa St, Rasir Bolton transferring. Going for that 3rd school club

Coach Howard • Apr 06, 2021 11:15 PM

He can go pound all the sand in the desert. And that's being nice

@BShark Would be interested to see how Bill would use Yesufu - since he is sort of a small SG more than a PG.

But the guy can flat out score the ball.

"Bill Self guard"

Agree with 3 yrs to play. I'm okay with the staff grabbing this kid if Washington is going elsewhere for whatever reason

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 08:45 PM

@Kcmatt7

Scored 26 against USC. our entire team had trouble scoring 26.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 05:10 PM

Yep Askew never looked comfortable either. One thing Calimari always wants is athletic guards and Askew wasn't that, he struggled shooting as well which just made it worse for him

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 01:42 PM

@BShark

I saw that reading their board. They seem pretty upset he's leaving. Terry was tied to him, now he can get his 2nd payday

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 12:04 PM

@Kcmatt7

Character issues I think. Real risk for those 4 programs that they are not getting what they think

Bears v. Dogs • Apr 06, 2021 12:03 PM

I have to say, Gonzaga probably never wins a championship at this point. They've had some great teams over the years but hard to imagine them every having a roster that good again.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 12:02 PM

Xavier Johnson down to Baylor, Indiana, St Joes & Houston as a transfer destination.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 11:55 AM

Hmm what's goin in Oregon.

First Chandler Lawson transfers, his brother Jonathan asks out of his LOI. Now freshman PG Jalen Terry transferring (former Top 100 kid). From Michigan so look for the midwest to be an option

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 11:52 AM

Kristian Lander staying with Indiana, maybe Woodson can fix that broken shot

Bears v. Dogs • Apr 06, 2021 11:49 AM

Congrats to Baylor. Bout all I got

Coach Hot Seat and Players to Poach • Apr 06, 2021 10:59 AM

Dane Fife leaving Izzo to join Indiana as an assistant coach. big loss

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 09:30 AM

Maryland's Darryl Morsell is leaving, good defender/good athlete/can't shoot. -Self's kinda guy

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 09:22 AM

West Virginia landed Florida International big Dimon Carrigan. Either Culver is leaving or this is depth

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 06, 2021 09:21 AM

@jayballer67

Askew wasn't good as a freshman. He needed to be a rotation piece instead of a starter.

They run absolutely zero plays for Zach.

Yeah he's a high screen and pop guy in that offense. Chandler seemed like he wanted to be option 1-5 in this tournament..

@jayballer67

Montverde hadn't lost a game in 2 years before Sunrise beat them earlier this year. That was their 3rd meeting of the year. Sunrise has 3 5 star players in their starting lineup, filthy. Last year's team might produce 4 first round picks

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 05, 2021 04:42 PM

@BShark

Disappointing but expected tbh. Gave myself a day or two to dream it was possible here but knew it was a pipedream

Playing top competition and neither Zach or Gradey are option 1, 2 or 3 &4. Options 1 and 2 are Chandler and Brown and then Chandler is option 3 and 4 before the ball goes anywhere else LOL.

In each game Zach showed the ability to hit the 3, Chasen at 247 noted he was open several times on the perimeter and teammates missed him. Also showed he could wall up inside, force misses, rebound and guard the perimeter.

Gradey didn't shoot well from 3 this tournament but played aggressive on both ends, showed his strengths in transition and around the basket. Remember he's got another year of HS to go.

2021 Commit Stats Tracker • Apr 05, 2021 03:33 PM

For those wondering about Gradey Dick and Zach Clemence who lost in the finals at the High School Championships.

Zach- was in foul trouble in game #2

Game 1 (vs. No. 7 Prolific Prep): 12 points (4-for-5 FG, 2-for-3 3PT), 6 rebounds, 1 assist

Game 2 (vs. No. 3 IMG Academy): 6 points (2-for-3 FG), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 19 minutes

Game 3 (vs. No. 1 Montverde): 6 points (2-for-3 3PT), 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks

Gradey

Game 1 (vs. No. 7 Prolific Prep): 7 points (4-for-5 FT), 3 assists, 1 rebound

Game 2 (vs. No. 3 IMG Academy): 8 points (3-for-6 FG), 10 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 turnover, 28 minutes

Game 3 (vs. No. 1 Montverde): 9 points (4-for-11 FG), 1 rebound, 1 assist

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 05, 2021 12:13 PM

Interesting reading Auburn's board in regards to TyTy.

They got a transfer guard in Zep Jasper, reliable scorer/defender from College of Charleston.

They made the top 4 for Methzu transfer guard Xavier Pinson and it looks like Auburn is favored to land him.

They have been recruiting 2022 5 star point guard Scotta Henderson for a long time, favored in the crystal ball to land him and he's possible to reclassify in 2021. It sounds like they want Scoot the most, given the time invested in the recruitment. Not saying that sways TyTy one way or the other but I think its significant that Auburn is heavy after guards and it isn't just TyTy

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 05, 2021 12:08 PM

@Kcmatt7

The tea leaves say so, he won't get much if any playing time here with the way things are going. When Self took Martin I thought this was likely, now with the pursuit of Bishop it seems cemented. It seemed like a decent take in November but 5 months later + Curry's so-so season, I think we've moved on.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 05, 2021 10:43 AM

Joseph Yesufu- yes please (if we can't win the TyTy sweepstakes)

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 05, 2021 10:41 AM

Portal hit 1200.

Should add another 100 this week or so

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 05, 2021 10:36 AM

@Kcmatt7

Maybe some scheme tweaks as well. I can't imagine Self watches film of games this year and thinks what these guys ran was good offense. As the game continues to change, maybe we see some more wrinkles to the offense. It's not just personnel that struggled.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 05, 2021 10:34 AM

I like getting Christian Bishop. Big time athlete, lob guy, plays hard, well coached. Self said he wanted to get more athletic, well Pettiford and Bishop give him that. Cam Martin likes to dunk.

Wouldn't be surprised if Curry wasn't in the cards anymore, remember he hasn't signed. Just a thought and connecting the dots of why Self has gone hard after bigs as well

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 04, 2021 04:56 PM

@Kcmatt7

Agree 100%. No chance he starts besides injuries

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 04, 2021 03:59 PM

@Kcmatt7

Good points. I've watched all of his games this week and several others this year and he is solid defensively, walls up and makes it hard for guys to score over him and he's playing d1 kids left and right. I'm not expecting he starts here year 1 but man he does strike me as a player who might take to the program quicker then we expect. Self has to find a way to get that guy a 3 or 2 a game until all of his game comes around. Guess I'm higher on him then some but its never an exact science. I thought Grimes was the bees knees, yikes
