Can't imagine that would be the case
And the plot thickens..
Portal probably will hit 1400 before end of week.
Some big movement again.
As mentioned Walker Kessler to Auburn, surprising since the hot rumor was Gonzaga but Pearly boy still knows how to drop a bag in time of need.
Boogie Ellis to USC
Former USC Noah Baumann to Georgia
Matt Bradley to San Diego St- big pickup for them. There was a lot of chatter KU would pursue.
Virginia picks up East Carolina stud Jayden Gardner
Damion Baugh goes from Memphis to TCU
Liam Robbins to Vandy, big 7 footer was at Minnesota.
Phlandrous Fleming, Jr. to Florida, avg 20 ppg.
Whitehead been trending to FSU, elite athleticism
Would really like Bishop here. At least he can make a high % of baskets at the rim. Seriously an underrated trait ill never take for granted again
Can't imagine we need another juco
ESPN updated their board, Ochai not found on the Top 60.

@Kcmatt7 Imagine Adidas actually delivering us one of their top players.
Traditionally a Arizona/Pac 12 feeder team. I'll believe a Cali player signs here when they step on campus
Top 15 PF Kijani Wright of Los Angeles California said over the weekend KU one of 5 programs recruiting him the hardest. More importantly he's playing on an Adidas grassroots team
One of the best rebounders in the high school game, Kijani Wright was tenacious on the glass in his first spring grassroots showing. Controlling the boards is a priority for him as he fully utilized his massive frame and played with great aggressiveness when battling inside. He is a high volume rebounder and smart player with good hands, footwork, and activity level who projects as a productive frontcourt force to be reckoned with for a winning program.
Recruitment: The top ten nationally ranked prospect says Arkansas, Kansas, Stanford, UCLA, and USC are the programs recruiting him the hardest.
Jabri Abdur Rahim to Georgia- Guess he gave up on his success
Tre King to Georgetown
As mentioned Xavier Pinson to LSU
Jamarius Burton in the portal for a 2nd time. Tech won't miss him tbh
what a relief
I don't and personally don't want him. But we'll see what happens
We offered Bishop a scholarship so there's definitely interest. Kind of surprised there wasn't a decision already made. Wondering if the recent movement with Ochai is causing them to rethink another forward. Need another wing now if he doesn't return
Assistant? UNLV coach now at Iowa St so maybe that's who he decided to follow in the end
Was at UNLV now returning back. Weird one.
Bishop hasn't made a choice yet. Could see something on that this week
Wade please take him
Which makes the fit odd if Ochai leaves since we really need another dude that can start in that scenario. Yesufu gives you a lot more at the same size so it feels redundant.
I'm still hoping for 2 impact players, a big and if Ochai is gone another Wing. If Ochai stays I like Plummer, but only in that scenario
@bennie said in Yesufu to KU (Drake PG Transfer):
@BeddieKU23 the roster is going to go 13-15 deep with players who are all legit or better P5 players. a whole bunch of them are not going to play. a whole bunch of them are going to be disappointed when they figure that out. Self isnt messing around and trying to keep players happy. there will be a number of unhappy players because Self is not doing it Roy's way. Roy would get 7-8 legit dudes then surround with role players. Self has a dozen guys who could start at most schools. so half of them are going to find out they aren't starters at kansas. Bryce may not play much this year either. self is bringing in guards who are expecting to play. they can't all play a lot. honestly i can see bryce transferring if he doesn't beat the transfers out for playing time
I'm going to go out on a limb here about Bryce. Self has a personal interest with Thompson having coached the dad. There's a relationship that goes beyond the court here. I don't see Bryce going anywhere other then the next level, in time. Even with a covid offseason he played 28 minutes in the season opener against Gonzaga. He started 4 games this year and if it wasn't for 2 injuries that cost him 2 months of development he may well have started more and had a completely different year. He'll earn his keep.
While I agree Self is building up a roster with depth and talent the fact he's still recruiting guys that he wants to come in and make an impact tells me he doesn't have 12 guys that can start anywhere. Some guys will have to develop and be patient like the freshman bigs or the Juco transfer. This team needs more, 1-2 more pieces that can play immediately.
Very sorry for your loss. My condolences
Interesting, he can really shoot it and he's a jump shooter, not a set shooter. Doesn't do much else statistically, not big on rebounds, assists, getting to the FT line but averaged 2.2 made 3's in 51 games as a Ute so he's definitely a specialist.
Recapping all the action, Portal at 1300.
David Jenkins to Utah
Noah Gurley, one that was heavily recruited by several ends up at Alabama
Kyler Edwards back to the portal for a 2nd time.
Caleb Grill back to Iowa St for a 2nd time, LOL
Western Carolina Soph big Cork ends up at TCU
Justin McKoy trades ACC teams going from Virginia to UNC
Wake Forest keeps promoting East Tennessee St kids like a Triple A team, as Damari Monsato transfers in. Former ETSU coach now at Wake
Minnesota sharpshooter Gabe Kalscheur goes to Iowa St. He can really shoot the 3
High scoring South Alabama transfer Michael Flowers ends up at Washington St
Shahada Wells transfers to TCU.
Morsell trades ACC teams from Virgina to NC St
Can't shoot, no thanks, besides the other giant elephant in the room
McFlung in the portal. Can't imagine tech fans are sad

Howard recruits better then Townsend..
I'm gonna very strongly disagree with that one.
Joking
Howard recruits better then Townsend..
Jalen Coleman Lands in the portal. Pretty much a clone of Isaiah Moss
Would definitely help this team but agree hes probably SEC BOUND
I think the fact Auburn taking a pg says they are not expecting Ty to play College ball
He took a visit here but his mom worked at ucla
Better fit, takes over the small ball 4 spot Justin Smith leaves
Interesting that his players seem to like him, they stick around and redshirt. Don't know if he'll get away with that going forward but he definitely benefitted from it winning a title
He's a scorer, good size and likes to get to the line. Love his spin move as a lefty and he's a playmaker. I'd take him in a heartbeat and see what improvement he can make as a consistent shooter. It's not like he can't make 3's. Played on a really bad UNLV team and too much was on his shoulders there.
I'm not worried about Bryce shooting the ball. Remember Svi shot 28% from 3 & 30% from the floor his first year. Seriously, and he dealt with 2 injuries that literally impacted his ability to shoot the ball. Kid was a shooter/scorer in HS. Now I'm sure the staff will work with him, maybe you see a tweak or two so the form looks visually better.
We'll see but I think the key to unlocking his shooting is a bigger role. He had his adjustment year and now I expect if he earns a starting gig or a big minute role we'll see a much better player
Yep making a crazy year an even crazier offseason.
So far KU alone has 4 transfers
2 committed transfers
1 committed High School prospect.
More to come, all this in 2 weeks
If Och stays in the draft Self needs himself a ready made shooter. Yesufu added that to the backcourt but he needs another dude. Not sure Umude is best fit but he scores, a lot. I hope TyTy is still in play, he might only be 6'3 but has a 6'9 wingspan so he can be that 3rd guard on the court. The KU system is meant for a wing to have ball handling skills/shooting which Washington has in spades. Just a thought
Beard offered TyTy
Nimari Burnett lands at Alabama, thought he was Illinois bound..
West Virginia picked up leading scorer from Old Dominion PG Malik Curry. With his entire backcourt testing the draft not surprised Huggy getting some insurance.
Indiana transfer Armaan Franklin lands at Virginia
Marreon Jackson transfers to Arizona St
3 transfers and still a freshman? Hes definitely going for the guiness record
Just comparing that leaving now leaves him a very steep path towards playing professionally. If he does leave i wish him the best.
He declared without agent
This wouldn't be brannen greene bad but its close if he didn't return

Who played on that one? my first 3 guesses don't count
My favorite player on that team might actually be Nick Collison, though. He's a really good guy off the court.
Two of my favorites as well.
Who played on that one? my first 3 guesses don't count
Toumani Camara transfers to Dayton. Former Georgia player was perhaps their best player. What a name
But but Kenny could Dunk real good
Give Earl's handlers credit, they know how to cash it in
Earl Timberlake to Memphis. Every recruitment for this one has been shady
Good point about comfort level. It certainly looked like Harris was gaining comfort towards the end of the season while Braun never really settled into a rhythm. I think it was simple, Braun was playing out of position- no fault to him. There's a chance if Bryce doesn't get hurt twice that he may have transitioned into that spot. With Self's confidence in Bryce I see him getting the spot he was recruited for- plus big picture view- looks good for a former 5 star to be starting.
Checked out Arizona's board for a minute and the first thread I see is Bill Self.
Zona fans blaming KU and Self for Miller getting fired. I guess they found Bill Walton's stash out there
