Multi-year 5* dream recruit. Thank goodness for that connection because the rest of the class is reaaaal lean.
What? Lean? We've got Tyon Grant-Foster. I hear he's a possible all-America, a possible pro, I mean, you know ... what else could a team need?
Now the number 1 juco recruit in the nation. Has had some games recently that weren't as good but hes still averaging almost 19 a game

I just can't see Bryce fitting in there. He seems more like a young och, Jalen Wilson type kid.
Are you speaking of Bryce Thompson fitting in theoretically at OSU?
I think the allure to that situation was playing with Cade and Boynton being a good coach/type of coach kids tend to like. They also have a bunch of players that are Sr's so he would have probably walked into a starting spot there too.
UNC people thought he'd be a big culture/character fit there but after seeing all the post commitment stuff on Bryce seems he was always going to be a hawk as long as Self was still there.
I think he's a bit advanced to Ochai & Wilson. Kid has worked extremely hard to raise his profile from Top 100 kid to 5 star prospect. He also from a depth chart perspective comes into a situation he can handle the ball a lot with Garrett and fill in for the expected departure of Dotson. Fills a major shooting/play making and facilitating role that Devon is likely leaving on the table. I don't see OAD in him due to him not being an elite athlete but he should be able to come in and help this team in a big way.

@BeddieKU23 I figured waters was the guy!
Waters is at 14.0 and Likekele at 13.7. Waters probably settles as their top guy as the season goes but they have 5 guys in double figures right now

@BeddieKU23 is osu's pt guard really their highest scorer?
Likekele, yes getting to the FT line a lot and just improved a bunch from last season. On NBA radar too
Yikes Oklahoma won by 2 points on the road over North Texas (3-6).
Kenpom has this game as KU favored by about 8.
It's two good defenses and two different styles of play. Colorado is going to play similar to Virginia, work the clock on offense and limit possessions. KU is going to try and exploit Doke's advantage in the paint and force turnovers to speed up the game a bit. As long as KU shows up they should win, especially at home
Crimsonorblue22 said:
@BeddieKU23 yeah, I don't think he was ready this year anyway.
Looked that way to start the year. I think he would have been a guy that would have come on in Jan/February when things slowed down. Sucks he loses the year but he may have sat and been discouraged as well so it could be a blessing

Devonte is 4th in the league in 3's made per game at 3.6. Leads the Hornets in scoring.
yes love the kid. - Yet serious question and be honest, did you - - me or anyone else believe SERIOUSLY that he would be having this type of year? - -Really good showing for himself - -hope he continues to do well
Never expected it but absolutely happy to see him thriving with the opportunity. He's playing lights out. Just amazing to see.
Good point I hope he sticks. I still think he's going to be a good one.

Nice. Glad he got to do that.
If Jalen was still at KU or in school by the end of this 4th year I'm sure he would be granted the medical redshirt if needed. I wonder if they have to apply early or its just a "redshirt" needed if the time comes to extend his eligibility.
Devonte is 4th in the league in 3's made per game at 3.6. Leads the Hornets in scoring.
Grimes had 21 pts last night, averaging 16.8, 4 boards, 3.7 assists. Still can't shoot 3's but he was 7-7 at the line last night and is 47% from the field this year.
Man he is awesome!
I forgot Virginia was missing a key player in Braxton Key who's out with an injury and I should have reevaluated my thoughts for that one. I also didn't think Purdue was any good so I missed the boat on that game. Virginia can't score and really only have 1 player who can get his own offense in Diakite who was what the 5th option last season..

North Carolina getting killed at Chapel Hill by Ohio State 71-48. - - N Carolina hasn't scored 80 points in a game this year - - - n Carolina hasn't shot 50 % from the filed in a game this year. -Down year in College Basketball.
Ohio St is a legit team. That team is fun to watch.

Some takeaways - MSU is not a national championship contender.
Louisville is solid, but very beatable.
Michigan is not a Top 10 ten.
Archie can coach.
Baylor is for real.
Texas is nowhere near being a Top 25 (don't even think about it AP!) team
TCU is still TCU.
Sparty without Langford is a first weekend/S16 ceiling team.
Michigan is still an elite defensive team. Their ceiling is how they played in the Bahamas. They are a fringe Top 10 team imo, there just isn't a lot of good teams.
Louisville deserves to be #1 right now, they have a star player and solid depth/experience up and down and they defend. I think Ohio St has more talent top to bottom but the rankings mean nothing this early anyway. Them 2 and KU look like the 3 best teams out there from the games I've watched of all.
FSU laid an egg, not sure Indiana is really that good but Assembly Hall is still a tough place to play.
Baylor is definitely a Top 15 type squad. Drew though always finds a way to mess it up. Should we expect anything else?
Bill said today that Jalen and his family agreed to redshirt this season. Smart decision based on the recovery and time lost.
Hopeful he makes a full recovery and comes back next season ready to help the team!
So Likele didn't play?? They really don't have a backup PG. Still, not a good loss there at home. I know the Ole Miss game was a joke but OSU did look improved and their PG is a big reason why.
DePaul now 9-0, who woulda thunk
Langford definitely hurts them.
I know preseason expectations didn't change when Langford went down but they should have. I think the media missed how important he would be to their offense. Without him its just Winston & Tillman. Winston's numbers are slumping because his supporting cast isn't as good. Henry is solid but after that its growing pains. I guess the losses of McQuaid and Goins and their 129 3's from last season is also playing a huge factor.
Texas Tech goes to Depaul tonight. Oklahoma St gets a depleted Georgetown team coming to town.
Nationally Virginia goes on the road to face Purdue. Virginia will win.
The biggest game of the night figures to be Ohio ST going to North Carolina. Ohio ST has looked like a Top 3 team and I'm interested to see how they do on the road.
Recap of last night:
Duke crushed Michigan St again. I can't remember how many times in a row Duke has beaten sparty now.
Louisville overwhelmed Michigan in a Virginia slow mo type game
FSU got crushed by Indiana. Was surprised by that one.
Baylor won by 32.
Texas won by 10 over UAB at home. They wouldn't be 7-1 if they played real teams.
TCU beat Illinois St by 12
True I guess I must have thought he was a few inches shorter but whatever the case the kid can rebound. 4th in the country right now, 2 of his last 3 games rebound totals at 17 & 19. Also has 15 assists in his last 4 games. Tough matchup
The Michigan/Loui game should be great. No reason to watch Duke beat Michigan St again. FSU is a good deep team and should overwhelm Archie's bunch
RIP Georgetown. Starting PG and rotation forward kicked off the team
Believe that article is wrong hes a 2020 guy. He visited only 2 schools on his supposed
list. Farmer would know more but I dont think we have been active with Thor in a while. Maybe that changes as the season goes on but OSU having a good start and looking like a team that could be ranked during the season might seal the deal for them as they have the roster space
Dotson was named big 12 player of the week. I'd wager it wont be his last
Pretty much spot on. Imagine how high Agbaji would be if he could do both. I think his ball handling and decision making are bigger issues then shooting. He seems like a good shooting coach away from being a consistent shooter. I think he is going to improve as the season goes on and we will see if both of those weaknesses are the same. To me he is on the Selden Curve

Good. Everyone come back!
In our dreams yes but likely Dotson ends up 2nd round like Graham and Mason no matter and just starts the process of trying to stick
NBA isn't loving the Big-12 this year in ESPN's latest update..
Agbaji #36- 2nd round
Dotson #51- 2nd round
Azubuike - Not ranked
Enaruna- Not Ranked
Others in the Big-12
Haliburton Iowa St- #10 - Lotto Bound
Jami'us Ramsey #40 overall
Isaac Likele #66 overall
Oscar Tshiebwe # 68 overall

@BeddieKU23 I will be there and behind the bench, if self needs helpπ€£ just found out my friend had some tickets!
Nice scoop. I'll be at the UMKC game in 2 weeks!
Same ol Shaka Smart. 2 point Victory over Mcneese St (2-6) at home
I'm expecting a close game in this one. KU needed the break after 3 games in 3 days but its a long time to sit given how the schedule played out. I'm sure the guys need the rest especially after Dotson and Agbaji went 45 minutes but this is a game Self will have to coach up the intensity.
Boyle will bring his group prepared and he's got one of his best teams since he's been there. They are Kenpom #9 defensively but #75 offensively so I think this will be a low scoring first half/game.
If KU can find some kind of flow offensively we should be able to get the ball into Doke in situations they cannot match up with at some point. I would bet the farm Boyle doubles Doke in the post. Moss & Agbaji will have to make some open looks. Dotson and Garrett getting dribble penetration could be key to breaking down their defense.
Their big man likes to shoot 3's which always exposes our biggest weakness on defense. They are not a great shooting team. Their PG is good so that's another good matchup for Dotson. Bey has been their best player and is averaging a double-double, he must really have a knack for rebounding because he's not that big.
Colorado has held 4 teams under 53 points. They beat Arizona St in the opener, A-St lost by 3 to Virginia recently. They also own a 4 point win over Clemson. This will be by far the best team they have faced and is their first "road game" of the season. Hopefully Allen Fieldhouse isn't kind to them
Updated PER's after Maui. The first is PER's after the BYU game and the 2nd is after Dayton. Doke, Dotson, & Garrett were the big movers after huge games. Marcus has improved significantly through 7 games from his career average. This team is better if he's better.
OSU has depth now and has 5 guys that played together last season. Anei and Likelele look improved. That junk defense looks difficult to score over

@BeddieKU23 I think Tech is bigtime overrated this year.
I agree they were over ranked but I think it's a young team that is going to take some time to come together. Wouldn't count Beard out yet but they are not as good as last season
Maybe there is a plan for him or the roster will open up a bit at seasons end the way Arkansas has gone about 3 over recruiting so far. Not signing in the fall at least keeps the options open slightly
Tech lost in OT by 7.
Oklahoma St won by 41 over Ole Miss only giving up 37 in their press zone.
Iowa St lost by 8 to a ranked Seton Hall.
Florida St held on to beat Tennessee, the last 4 minutes took almost 30 to complete
Michigan pummeled Gonzaga today. Wow
Ohio St looks like a top 3 team. Just a good roster up and down
