PER's after the Chaminade Game.
Azubuike approaching 30, Garrett rising steadily, Enaruna drops after a tough game, Agbaji hopefully on his way back.
I really like Braun and I hope he continues to have a role this yr
Moss is a complete sniper
When Self has a bunch of guys that can finish above the rim you get to see just how good he can scheme, didnt have that last yr
Beautiful play call by Self and a GREAT pass by Marcus
Putting this one away. Hope they can rest Dotson and Garrett, gonna need those legs the next 2
Dave is just super ackward and I dont know if that's something you ever grow out of
That was crazy unexpected
Jeez 7-0 run
I want what he is on
Jeez that's such a crap call
Big shot for ochai. Didnt look good by the mechanics but I'm sure that was big for him
Good thing they have their ref
That was about as good of a call as tripping on Dallas last night
Bring the reserves in who can shoot
Guess we decided to party instead of play
Timeout bill
With about 4 point guards on the roster
Really they have played like this in every game but just wasnt facing power 5 teams.
I was excited until Walton came on
My General Impression from watching the Big-12 so far is that there are 2/3 teams at the top, a middle of 4-5 teams and two teams clearly at the bottom. It will be interesting to see if that continues on through the season.
What I've seen so far, the Big-12 as a whole is down compared to some recent years. All the usual factors, graduations, transfers, lack of top end talent coming in and returning have caught up to some teams.
KU, Baylor & an untested Texas Tech look like the cream of the conference so far.
K-St has struggled mightily against some really suspect teams and TCU is a one man team right now. It's hard to see either of those teams making an impact without significant improvement.
Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma St & Iowa St look like competitive teams. I have no idea what West Virginia is yet but it looks like their defense is far away from what they used to be. Huggy has a rep for overachieving but overall its a team lacking significant talent in the backcourt. OU could overachieve this season if they continue to have 3 guys hover around the Top 10 in scoring in the conference.
Half the Big-12 remains unbeaten at this point. Not a surprise since most of the league hasn't played anyone besides Baylor.
KU through 4 games- Opponent's Record 18-8
Rest of the league
K-St- 8-18
OU- 13-17
Tech- 12-16
OSU- 16-15
Baylor- 24-18
WVU- 13-10
Texas- 14-15
TCU- 13-12
ISU- 12-12
Scott Drew still coaches them but yes they have a talented team
Some statistics to point out how this recruiting cycle is going.
The Big-12 has been hurt by KU's NOA, Texas being young and having zero commits. Oklahoma also took a big class last year and only has 1 commit. Overall the Big-12 has 6 teams in the Top 20 team ranks
No Surprise, Adam Miller commits to Illinois.
Didn't sign in the early period so that means he'll sign with Duke in the Spring
Forgot to check PER's after game 3 but here's a pretty cool look at the difference since Game 2.
Azubuike has returned to his normal range.
McCormack and Moss have made double digit jumps most likely because of good games against Monmouth.
Agbaji has taken a nose dive.
For Reference to last season, only Dedric was above 20 (28.5) and only two above 19 (currently 6). Left Azubuike out of the discussion for last season due to the shortened season
Tristan has been terrific. He isn't asked to do much offensively but defensively he's a pest and the long arms create turnovers for us that we haven't seen since the Chalmers days. I think he's the most natural fit to start next to Doke as we continue to move forward. I think we can play him 20+ minutes a night and get consistent effort from him.
I liked how Silvio played down the stretch Tuesday and thought his previous game against Monmouth was positive. He just needs minutes but if he's not playing because he's not running the offense then that's a problem for him that he needs to correct.
Ochai has been disappointing on several levels in the past two games. Some details I noticed especially on his perimeter shooting is he's sloppy in his setup and release. A few midrange jumpers you see him fading away from the basket. His handles and BBIQ in fast break situations have been poor. Maybe we're expecting too much from him but we know he has the tools to be very good, he's just playing at Freshman/Soph Wayne Selden level right now when we think he can be Jr Wayne.
Moss was very disappointing handling the ball against ETSU. You can't have those turnovers. His missed shots from deep were right on but ETSU was well aware of him and didn't leave him open often. KU should do a better job hunting him looks. This team needs him fully healthy.
Perimeter shooting and turnovers are the biggest overall issues for the team. I love the depth and position versatility of this team. Hopefully Self can figure out some sets to get guys good looks on the perimeter. That was a rock solid team we beat Tuesday. The defense has been really good for the most part and Kenpom seems to be missing the boat there.
As far as progression and where I think this team can get they are right where they need to be. Maui should be interesting if they get to play Michigan St next week
No one is surprised this was taken care of quickly.
Free SILVIO
We can only hope
Good game ETSU is good but we let them hang around. Good win going into maui

I don't think the big 12 refs are even going to bother calling AND 1 fouling doke.
Not like he would make it
