Pretty amazing how bad talent evaluators can be to miss on Culver and Morant from same class
Huggy is ready to blow a gasket
Culver is a baller
Tech now starting to look like the previous 14 years of KU. GRITTY
Jerry Meyer has lost all credibility
Did you watch their reaction it was like they thought a foul was called and the shot didnt count. Unreal
McCabe just shook tech. They didnt know what happened
Tech looks like us on the road.
So is Fran waiting to suit up to be shaka cheerleader tonight
Lol Texas Tech, bubble burst
He would try and kill de sousa if he could
Maybe they can find out who owns Billy Preston's car while they are in town
I guess it's a good thing we have 9 fan bases wishing they could be KU.. embrace the jealousy
As well as the football program.
Iowa St crushed Faylor. No surprise
Ku only a 2.5 point favorite. Even Vegas knows what's up
TCU is done
He's a game-time decision. Didn't think he was coming back. Won't matter anyway its their last game of the season
I believe he's playing a bit hobbled just like Garrett is. His shooting has taken a nose dive which is unfortunate. Still like a lot of things he does especially rebounding and defending his position. He's certainly still in the infant stages of realizing his confidence to make plays on his own.
omg Zion is playing today. Cancel all your evening plans
LOL. I'd like what he's drinking

@BeddieKU23 another reminder of how trash the bubble is.
For Power 5 yes.
I would love to see the Belmont's, Limscomb's of the world in. Happens every year though. The tourney has to have the crap 7-10 ACC and Big-10 teams in
If KU wins the Big-12 tournament they will be a #3 seed. I believe our bracket average is hovering in the high 3's. If they win tonight and beat Tech in the Semi's I can see KU being the last 3 seed regardless of winning Saturday. I don't see anyway they fall below a 4, or at least that seems to be what I've seen. If they lose to Texas they are a 4 seed.
Updated: In games that Dave plays 15+ minutes, 9.7 pts 4.5 boards, 1 blk per. His PER is at a season high 17.9.
His per 40 numbers are 14.9 pts, 9 boards. Hopefully he gives Self a reason to play him big minutes tonight. He's making an impact
Bill's assessment of his team right now. Not the most confident maybe just the realistic answer at this point.
Self's full comment on the way his team is playing right now, mentioned at the end of the story:
Self: “Well you know we had one good game last week and one poor game, so. Our last game was better. We missed a lot of shots, but it was better. And we practiced fairly well this week. So I think we’re playing fine. I’m not going to say I believe yet that we’re hitting our peak form right now, although that’s what every coach hopes their team does, but that remains to be seen. But I think we’re playing pretty well.”
Has Bruce Pearl ever had a clean assistant coach..

That's a good look for ya Wade.
Oklahoma lost to Huggy Bear. Sorry Lon your group doesn't belong in the tourney. Interested to see where their bubble hopes lie after that
Yeah I agree they are not a team we'd want to see in the tournament. I think since we played them already they wouldn't pair us together again (if they win Saturday) but who knows. Everything is on the table right now depending on how the Big-12 tourney goes. We are not getting any favors this year. A Big-12 tourney championship likely gets this team a 3 seed and at least 1 game close to home. An early exit probably leaves us on the road. I have no idea which path would be better. We'll find out Sunday
We already beat Vermont this year but it wasn't pretty. UVM has to worry about losing to UMBC for a 4th straight on Saturday.
I did get your point though this team could win 6 or more in a row or lose two straight.
Gonzaga has considered jumping conferences before in the past, nothing new here. Their conference was ranked 8th this year. Not much they can do but hope other programs within the conference continue to improve themselves. BYU has too many restrictions and too many that go on missions to stay competitive. Saint Mary's has done the best they can with their niche. It is what it is for Zaga. Not their fault
Coincidence I think not. Kerwin Roach will play Thursday against KU after serving a 5 game suspension. How fortuitous
What do you take of this line in there
There’s a chance Bill Self is going to be subpoenaed and testifying,” Meyer said. “Who knows where this stuff could go? They even said in court that Self was involved with a money transaction with Billy Preston.
Testifying in which case? Adidas trial already happened.
Involved with money transaction? Jerry sounds a bit off base here. Self wouldn't be coaching if scenario 2 was true.
Dante probably was LSU bound before the Will Wade stuff.

@BeddieKU23 I’ve never been able to figure out the decision making process of a teenager, they do all kinds of stupid stuff. Ayton was a 100% KU lean, but then we learn he was given more money by Arizona (apparently 15k by Adidias isn’t enough when 100k is on the table). The checkbook is closed - I wouldn’t look for any 5 star recruits to sign. Add in the chance of a post season ban and loss of scholarships due to being caught by the FBI and I wouldn’t let my kid go to KU until I knew he could play in the NCAA tournament (esp if he’s a OAD).
So meh. IF KU signs a big time player that’s unexpected news, not potientally losing a recruit that hasn’t committed to anyone yet.
I have no idea of the fallout from the Adidas trial and what lies ahead. We have only the two prospects signed because of it. Still, 5 star recruits are showing up on campus like Matthew Hurt, Precious Achiuwa and RJ Hampton so do teenagers see it the same way as us fans?
KU has starting spots to sell this spring. If the hammer is coming down why are recruits still coming. A lot seems to be unknown on that part, what exact punishments will KU get, if any. I quit worrying about it until they announce it's happening.
Self hopes he is 90% by the NCAA tournament. Says still not playing on one leg. You can notice it in games. I wish he was fully healthy.
The recruit @jayballer73 is talking about has been the #1 target of Self for a few years now. Coached him as well. Losing him to Duke or any other program is certainly not what you want to see happen
I agree I don't see them leaving early this yr. They will be motivated to win those early round games. However if Self has a week to prepare for a team that's his best chance and getting to play the underdog role..

He just committed.
And if Beard leaves won't be his last commitment. He's made a few along the way
Lot's of CB's rolling in for Terrance Shannon to end up at Texas Tech. Terrance, you might want to wait until you know your coach is staying bud. Shannon has had one of the more fruitful recruitment's. LOL
Just passing this along. The Hampton's reported to Matt Scott that their official visit to KU was "First Class".
From start to finish of the visit everything was first class," said Mr. Hampton. "Getting to see the day-to-day workings was impressive. At the end of the day you gotta respect tradition. We could see ourselves as a Jayhawk family. We will see!!!"
Nice tease there at the end. Unless Nike & Duke can't work out a deal can't see him ending here but at least we got an official visit. We'll see how it plays out
Can we book it today!

Which is completely different from this squad. We all pray the mindset of these guys takes a leap forward this week and next. This would be the perfect opportunity for Dedric and Devon to shine as leaders.
This is the most fragile group Self has had that I can remember.
Yes they are fragile. Self will do his part to prepare them. I'll hold my head high on this bunch if the season ends with them playing their hearts out. I'd hate to see the season end like some of our recent road games have. That will only fuel speculation and ridiculous fan and media articles. This year definitely has a different feel to it then a lot of seasons we've been used to
Going 17-3 in their last 20 games will do it. I know they didn't look good at all earlier in the season. Carsen Edwards has been terrific all year long for them. A lot of wins against nothing. Must be nice to play your last 7 games against non-ranked opponents. As usual Purdue underachieves in the tournament so if they get a high seed I'm picking them out by first weekend

The entire Big-12 is happy De Sousa didn't get to play. I still stand by my thoughts that he was the difference maker to this years squad.
Earliest they'd meet is the Sweet 16. Virginia could always lose in the first round again as well. Additionally if this team makes the S16 I'm considering it a successful season. I'll be happy with 1 tourney win tbh
Our one game in the Sprint Center this year wasn't pretty.
Would be nice to see them come out ready to go. The start of games have set the tone in a lot of games this year.
No team has ever made it as an at-large with 16 losses. They won't be in if they lose Thursday. Heck even if they win Thursday and lose after they still will have 16 losses. They should have to make the final and make it entertaining to get a bid. Crazy how much wins against UNC and KU are helping them.
I hope the committee puts the end to these mediocre teams making the field. 15 loss teams deserve the NIT
