I saw that and laughed. Supposedly coming from a Oklahoma ST insider.
I agree, I can't wait til its over.

Bragg's court date has been changed to March 3rd. I doubt we see him in uniform before.
Kansas will be facing the best defensive team its faced all year.
Baylor will be facing the best offensive team its faced all year.
What will give? Allen Fieldhouse should help
I'm assuming Jakolby Long who ended up at Iowa St from the 16 class. Top 100 kid who's only played in 5 games this year..
Agreed I'm thinking 6 at most.
But looking at the rest of the College Basketball at this point what really stuck out was that there is not 68 deserving teams this year.
I've seen almost every Power 5 team play at least once and I'm diligent about box scores and I had a tough time coming up with 60 teams I thought would make it as of today. So maybe 7 Big-12 teams is likely because there are a ton of mediocre Power 5 schools this year.
Bracketology should be taken with an absolute grain of salt at this point.
Teams like Arkansas, VCU, Michigan St, Miami, Clemson, Michigan, Wake Forest. These teams are all "in" according to Lunardi. These 7 teams have a combined 2 wins against Top 25 competition at the time of playing them. Michigan St has lost 3 of its last 4 conference games = 8 seed. Basically being rewarded for "trying". Those 7 teams currently have 50 losses or an average of 7 per team and we aren't even in February.
Definitely, sometimes these 5-star players don't want the attention. This one seems to be the case. If he holds out until NBA decisions that's probably KU's only hope.
and BTW Jerry Meyer still believes Young to KU. says 15 years experience and learning to interpret kids has him combining his intel and gut to that pick.. For what its worth
Slater and Matt saying KU is a dark horse for MJ Walker.
what that actually means is nothing. Involved but who knows how much. UCLA was the latest pushing for him. I still think its a FSU- Georgia Tech battle here as distance to home wins out.
Why are we talking about Michael Porter?
Very well said!
Today we will hear Bill actually has 3 wives, not 1. He has 7 summer kids that he has not seen in 6 years and owes $7,456 in back child support payments. Both Wives are suing him for payment. Cindy decides to sue the "alleged" wives for slander.
Tomorrow, hours before tip we'll get word that our water boy is suspended from team operations for inadvertently filling a Gatorade bottle with his afternoon pick me up instead of you know Gatorade. The players are told they must get their own drank on the bench. Tough times.
Thursday, after beating Baylor at home in a hotly contested game, Bill Self will hold a press conference to address both rumors saying "you guys are a bunch of fools gold".
Friday, the media will take that to heart and release a steamy video of the 2001 team playing a hotly contested game of ping pong in which one of players loses grip of his paddle and inadvertently flies into a window causing a crack. The window was never fixed by the "alleged" offender and a outstanding bill of $254 dollars has been kept in KU record books since under "Unnamed KU player broke window". A donor attempted to pay for the window to be replaced and a whistle blower reported this infraction to the NCAA causing the powers that be to open an investigation in the KU program. ESPN, has become full on TMZ setting up multiple command centers to investigate all that has happened in the last few weeks at the KU campus.
Saturday, A report starts swirling that Bill Self has enacted Marshall Law and has locked his players in the lockeroom ( the opposite of what Coach K did to his guys). The players are unable to eat before the game causing Devonte Graham to cramp up 6 minutes into the mid-afternoon game. Bill Self's seldom used son Tyler comes into the game and drains 7 of 8 shots and helps erase a 14 point deficit to Iowa St in the 1st half. He is caught on camera saying "I got this Bill". Self during the post-game interview, ponders whether his walk-on son should have been playing more saying after the game " I thought we had 5 really good guards but I guess I forgot one".
How impossible is this after the week we've seen in the news?
There's also 4 teams on that proverbial bubble line and we still have 10 conference games to go..
I can't think that Tech, OSU, or TCU are tournament teams with losing conference records
K-St looks like a tourney team right now but they will have to upset KU at home or steal a road game against Baylor/WVU if they want to be comfortably in.. Now that I say that the KSU game in Manhattan game is looking similar to the WVU game. Super Bowl time
A lot of B-Ball to be played..
Exactly!!
This story should be redacted from the media until one shred of fact is proven. 2015 get out of here.
This is like piling on a celeb when things go wrong. The KC Star your a JOKE

I was confident it was KU leading up to the canceled visit due to the ice storm that wasn't. OU is absolutely pushing now. Fingers crossed.
OU Has always been pushing.
All the recent activity had been KU especially as he led on that he would take a visit as well as self getting to visit him multiple times.
I think he's right on target to pick KU. If I'm wrong well we won't enjoy the 2 times we play him a year
What is this TMZ
Good lord
Not sure we get even 5 right now. I see KU and Baylor fighting for a one spot, West Virginia a 2/3 after that I think Kansas State gets in and the rest is totally up in the air. Tech, TCU all fall short if they don't have close to 9/9 in conference play because of how poor they scheduled the non con. ISU really will have to win some games its not expected to.

I picked up a couple boxes of deep fried twinkies from Walmart. I hope they are not considered paraphernalia, because they will have a similar effect as Carlton's bong on me.

I don't like some of the recent developments that seem to be occurring. This would be a brutal miss.
Care to elaborate?
It's not like anything of substance has been in the news other than he will announce his final 3.. sounds like he didn't make the trip to the OU game.
I'm certainly not thinking otherwise with anything that has hasn't happened recently

Well he could be playing basketball Saturday as well. All Matt says was not sure to someone who asked. I know we all think he will be here and he has 5 days to make it happen

Well I have long thought groce would be out at Illinois so his signing didn't make much sense.
But I guess one of the assistants was key in getting him so it will all depend on whether that assistant is back next yr regardless of groce's status. Have to think that guy will get a long look with any new coach based on that fact. A school like Illinois can't afford to lose a talent like him.
Tilmon is the perfect 4 year big that will be a good college player granted he stays healthy
Kid has some skill. Some athletic ability, can shoot the 3. Good vision on his passes. They say he's now 6'5 220.
I'm honestly shocked he's not ranked
Looks like Illinois probably in the lead but who cares they won't have the same coach.
I think the police had to play this whole situation carefully on how/when it was reported.
I think they choose to keep his name out so that things didn't get taken out of context and reported incorrectly with the alleged incident that is being investigated.
There was also something put out a few days ago that Bragg had another separate incident with a girl that involved the police in September. If this is true that's strike #3 in my book.
I like the kid, I really hoped he would become the player we had all hoped for but its clear this year has spiraled out of control whether that's an overreaction or not, the fact remains the kid has been suspended now twice with at least two character incidents bringing negative press to his team and to himself.
The end of the season is when Self can address his future and I expect a mutual decision to be made. I'm sure Self would love to still coach him but it may not be the best decision for the team. We have seen this before, I believe the writing is on the wall.
he visited Duke last week and will be back there for an official in a few weeks.
With the visit this week he's actually visiting 2 of his finalists
Obviously this could have been worse. Self has done the right thing especially in light of what has already happened with Bragg this year.
Usually a coach is able to keep problems internal and handle them internally but this is now strike #2 where Self has had no control over the situation, the only move he can control is to suspend him.
What is he thinking?
This can't all be "bad luck". Bad luck that his girlfriend tried to blame assault on him. Bad luck that a police investigation led to a search of the dorms for a separate issue.
Poor choices have led to consequences. Consequences that I think are sending him down a path that will lead him to the proverbial door. Anyone can agree/disagree but we don't really need to see strike #3 before we just say" its mutually beneficial to move on" at this point. It's here. Carlton needs a fresh start, obviously some maturing to do as well. Kids will be kids, but Carlton, himself, has brought a lot of negative publicity to the team. I'm shocked its him, truly thought he'd be good here.
Court date Feb-14. Can't imagine he's playing before it or after it
Either Texas Tech or Oklahoma St.
Which is surprising seems how Oklahoma St has signed two Top 100 point guards already.
I think the local aspect of Oklahoma St kept them in his recruitment.
I expect KU to win this battle, Self has spent too much time recruiting him to lose out.
I agree about the post contact. It's a judgement call because its natural for an offensive player to back in and try and create leverage. I thought that was a point of emphasis but Bam does this in every game he plays.
He's a physical specimen and is trying to draw contact (actually looks like he's seeking it).
That may have been a point of emphasis from their coaches to try and create contact and force the ref's to make a call.
We benefited from him missing so many FT's otherwise the calls that were missed could have stuck out more.
The 5th foul on Lucas was straight up garbage, the rules did not apply on that play. If Lucas is allowed his space and to jump with verticality it should have been a play on.
True, we are at the point where most lineups have settled on rotations. No question if we had Bragg available he'd be the 7th guy. I thought we stole one from Kentucky with the defensive changes and Lucas not putting himself in a situation to sit for a long period of time. When we have to go to Lightfoot/Coleby we are at the mercy of them being able to impact the game positively which is a real unknown when these guys don't get consistent bench minutes. Can we mask Lucas from foul trouble? Will the staff ask Landen to play less aggressive guarding going forward? We simply cannot afford him sitting.
Yes we did score off the play, it was after another foul call on Fox that the UK fans were crying for a offensive foul (Fox flopped).
I thought the ref's did a really good job of letting the guys play. I have to say it was the best game between 2 good teams that wasn't affected by the ref's blowing the whistle every 5 seconds. There was some play-on, some obvious missed calls one way or the other. As probably the most vocal person about how bad officiating is, I'd take this crew anyday going forward if they give that kind of freedom to the game.
FYI Young was at the Oklahoma game over the weekend. Yeah that one where they lost by 30+ points. Had to be exciting to see your hometown school get mauled with you court-side.
Now he gets to come see KU put on a show this weekend in Allen Fieldhouse. Can't imagine he leaves there not sold on where he's playing basketball next year.
I'm sure a lot of schools use this ploy. I'm sure USC and Maryland were apart of it as well. It's all part of the game but you would think these kids would see through the fog..
We've always matched up well against UNC's run and gun style and don't play defense mentality. They are no different then the Kentucky team we just beat. I do think UNC when whole is a tougher team but I don't exactly get scared at the chance of them being in our bracket. I'd be much more scared of playing Virginia and its slog pace or Louisville with its absurd length in the post. Those 2 teams just wear you down whether they have the most talent on the floor or not..
Yeah that's a bad loss for Oregon. Definitely put them out of contention right now.
UCLA is still with a #1 shot. It's likely if they beat Arizona on the road that it does more for them then if they had beaten Arizona before at home. With the way it stands now Zona is a team on the rise and that will look good to the committee. UCLA has to win the Oregon home game as well as the Arizona road tilt because as it stands now UCLA is 1-2 against the 3 best teams its played all year. The 4 non-conference wins against Power 5 teams all came against teams having average seasons (Ohio St, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Michigan). The road win at Kentucky will only get them so far in a conference which is ranked I believe last of the Power 5.
Arizona is in the same boat, has to sweep and win the Pac-12 when its also got a 1-2 record against good teams.
I think your right about the games in North Carolina still being played elsewhere. Virginia had a golden chance to give themselves a lot of momentum for a #1 seed but they blew it yesterday. They still have a lot of big games left but would likely have to win them all. Someone from the ACC is going to be heavily involved in the #1 seed line because that's how it always goes. UNC with all its home games against the big teams seems most likely. Louisville is a darkhorse there as well.
Its a little early still with a lot of conference games left but Gonzaga is definitely a front runner for #1 spot. The Saint Mary's road game is really the only imaginable road block in their way. Not sure BYU will be enough to beat them.
Villanova is likely getting on as well at this point with just road games against Xavier & Seton Hall and home tilts against Butler & Creighton left.
The problem with the Baylor/KU argument is that they still play each other twice and possibly 3 times. Baylor will need to win at least once, probably twice against KU to parlay their strong non-conference schedule to a #1 seed.
KU has to win the home games against Baylor/WVU and not lose to Oklahoma St on the road. It probably needs to make the finals of the conference tourney.
North Carolina has 6 teams against ranked opponents left so they are definitely still alive for a #1 seed if they run off some impressive wins coming up. With the east coast love affair for giving the ACC a #1 seed you can never count them out
UCLA will have to win against Zona & Oregon coming up to keep them in contention. Same goes for Zona who needs to win both games and the Pac-12 tourney.
choke job central by virginia
Also to note, Jenkins and Hart have struggled in this half. Usually Nova doesn't get both of its stars playing bad. KU is the same way, we can't really afford Mason/Jackson having off nights against good teams. Margin for error is just too thin
There's no way UK gets a #1 seed after last night. Their conference just won't give them enough push. The UNC win is solid but home losses to UCLA/KU and neutral court Louisville point to a team that is only 1-3 against good teams. The Tennessee loss really hurts them. Dropping games against lower-end SEC opponents is killer.
Me too I'm resorting to play by play now. Nova down 9 at half..
And nova getting a little medicine thrown back at them. A freshman Jerome has been making rainbow's from 35 feet.
This game meant a lot. This team needed the win after the week they had. It's going to help this team keep momentum going into the biggest conference game of the year on Wednesday.
This game also dispelled the popular belief that this team couldn't win without Bragg and even more depleted depth. We got enough good minutes from Coleby/Lightfoot to keep this team together.
I'm thrilled this team found a way to overcome the poor first half and still win. That zone defense switch really helped neutralize UK's offense.
Humble pie was great this morning. When it was 23 11 or whatever it looked over.
Couldn't be happier with the last 30 minutes of the game. Huge momentum going into Wednesday
