6'8 wing/4 man Jack Clark in the portal from NC St. Avg 9ppg and nearly 7 boards. Not a prolific shooter but takes them
Jones has 13 20+ scoring games in the last two years. He's continued to improve all 4 years. Year 5 could be another leap. Who knows
Portal will hit over 1000 by end of weekend, heck perhaps by end of day. Certainly trending to top last years total.
More Big-12 departures
Joe Bamisille leaving OU. At least the 3rd guard to leave them Moser's crew.
Jordan Turner leaving Baylor. Never really got any burn.
Cormac Ryan leaving Notre Dame, can shoot.
Here's a big one, Syracuse's Joe Girard in the portal. Can't imagine he'd be a target just mentioning. Big time shooter but small.
He's from around my neck of the woods, saw him play in High School when he was breaking every NY state scoring record. Routinely went for 50 and would shoot from half court sometimes, he was that cocky. His dad rubbed a lot of people wrong, probably why Boheim took him LOL.
We will have 4 scholarships for Transfers. Don't worry about the numbers currently (we have 2 open). The numbers always work out.
Agree I forgot to add the defensive stuff for him. We are definitely not replacing Kev's defense with one guy but Jones probably has a good baseline of defensive skill that Self can work with, if that's what happens.
Here's one Stanford fan on Jones. I think we'd take all of this in a heartbeat.
He’ll go down as one of my all time favorites. Played like a stud with a splint on a finger that was clearly bothering him. Hit clutch threes, took it hard to the rack, made great cuts, played tenacious defense, and fought for every rebound. He epitomized Haase’s mantra of tough, invested, and selfless. He was the beating heart of this team all year, and it was no different tonight. Whenever we needed a big play, it seemed he was the guy to make it. I’ll miss seeing him in Cardinal and White (or the ugly black uniforms) but I wish him well in his next adventure.
Notice Evans ranking is dropping which tells me he may not be the prospect he was rising to be at one point
Spencer isn't the ideal Jalen replacement, his value would be more or less replacing the shooting of Gradey. He can really shoot, spot up and off the dribble in rhythm. He could definitely be your #3, 4th kind of option, ideally
If they get a big it will be the portal

Ar-Kansas is going down. I hope they get their ass beat.
Doesn't make me feel one ounce better
Maryland's Hakim Hart in the portal.
Jeez let the hype train commence. That film was filth
Yeah definitely a miss for me too. Really struggled with the mental aspect of playing here it felt. He was never the confident player we saw at Drake. Oh well he helped us some just not enough. Always a hawk!
Yikes twitter can be such a cesspool sometimes.
People are uniformed most of the time unlike us fanaticals lol
Joseph Yesufu official in the portal.
Thanks Joe for your hard work here. Hope ya ball out somewhere
Think he needs to drop a level.
Bill always makes it work defensively for the most part. We were Top 10 nationally with a 6'6 center this year.
It will be his most challenging offseason in many regards. I couldn't tell you how we are going to score, defend, rebound or do basically anything we do at a high level right now until the roster is completed.
Not on my wish list either. Only shoots the 3. 177 of his 223 field goals have been 3's.
We'll have 4 spots to give to transfers. Numbers are workin, Bill is slayin
Too funny I was just saying to myself, what about Kyle. He'll be in soon enough
We're going to feel the loss of Kevin defensively regardless of who we bring in IMO.
Arizona's Kerr Kriisa in the portal, wow that's a big one.

Rumor is Bobby Pettiford will be entering the portal soon. We'll see if that happens today or not.
Confirmed, Bobby is in the portal officially
Yep had 11 against us. Effort is there with him although he didn't generally play a lot (avg 15mpg).
Puff Johnson of UNC in, 4th Tarheel in and likely not the last
Rumor is Bobby Pettiford will be entering the portal soon. We'll see if that happens today or not.

What are your top choices from current portal list, just curious.
Based on current need, Jaemyn Brakefield from Ole Miss. KU recruited him in HS, spent a year at Duke and then the last 2 at Ole Miss so he's played good competition, has improved year over year & has been apart of Power 5 programs previously. His shooting numbers suggest he could take on a bigger role (53% FG overall, 65% on 2's, 35% on 3's, 73% ft). He's 6'8 and fits one of the Gradey/J Will/Kev spots we need to fill.
There are some mid-major guards that are intriguing but wouldn't fill a current need or current preference of the staff. If there is enough roster movement, I can see a veteran scoring guard being a target potentially but right now that's just my own thoughts.
I think we'll see KU players announce their intentions, then a break for the staff to really evaluate and see what potentially shakes out after the next wave. Right after the Championship game could be when things start to pick up. Guys making NBA draft decisions/entering the portal would be guys I'd be interested in looking at closer.
There's a lot of unofficial chatter about a pair of players on a certain team that likely could be entering and be serious targets for KU. They would both fills needs but are not star players at this stage. I'm not sure there's going to be the kind of guys in the portal at the positions we need that are comparable to Gradey/J Will/Kev. I think I'll have to adjust my expectations there.
Kario Oquendo of Georgia in the portal, big time athlete at 6'4
Eddie Waaaaampkin to Georgetown:clown_face:
Portal to hit over 800 today
Yep rebounding will be one of the main issues again.
Udeh was so wild he would jump to block for a shot 5 feet over his head and take himself out of the play. He reminds me so much of Dave in his early years with his lack of awareness on when to offer weakside help for rim protection. He has the rebounding ability in him as we saw flashes when he really focused. We absolutely need his maturity level as much as anything to improve this offseason. He seems like a great kid with a great attitude.
Agree Zuby seems like a good rebounder. This a big offseason for him to get stronger as the Mitchell kid gave him issue in the Arkansas Game. He definitely has the rebounding instincts we need.
6'9 Iona big Nelly Junior Joseph in the portal. Averaged 14.9 ppg & 9.3 boards a game
Wyoming 6'9 big Graham Ike . Missed all of this year with leg injury, averaged 19.5ppg and 9.6 boards in 21-22.
Dayton's Mustapha Amzil 6'9 in the portal. Averaged 9.3 ppg and 4.8 boards on 36% shooting from 3. Believe he's the one that made the game winner against us in 21-22.
@dylans said in 2022-23 stats-PER, Kenpom etc:
@BeddieKU23 Assuming KJs growth is linear and not exponential, he should only score 100 points per game next season.
That's my expectation as well😁
NCAA hearing after which any penalties would be made public some time afterwords
Update: End of a great season is here, way too soon for my liking!
Jalen finishes in 27th place on the All-Time Scoring list with 1475 points, 3 short of passing Brandon Rush. Congrats Jalen, you are a KU legend! Remarkable transformation this man made. He truly understood what it meant to be a Jayhawk!
Dajuan Harris will be on 1,000 point scoring club watch next season. He's at 606 points total, scoring a career best 320 points this season.
KJ Adams scored 10x as many points this season as in his freshman season (38 to 380). He's poised for an even bigger role next year.
Kenpom rates this as the 16th best team in the Self era overall. 9th overall in the Country, 24th best Offense, 11th best Defense.
Same, enjoy your contributions here!
Now if we ever lose important player(s) for whatever reason to the portal I'm sure I'll feel a certain way towards it.
I suppose we'll disagree here some then, that's okay, it's a message board and we all have our thoughts. I respect yours so I was interested in why this new era isn't your cup of tea. Understand where you're coming from now.
I wouldn't say I enjoy this revolving door, I think it's kind of exciting for KU fans since I think we'll always be in a position to change the roster in a way that keeps us at the top competitively. We're doing good in NIL, we have a great program with a great coach and it's a place kids want to be.
I think the sit-out year was an abuse of power that was begging for change in the 2 popular money-making sports.
If you're looking for someone to blame, or where it may have started, blame the coaches that created commitment issues. This is a business glorified as something else. Coaches switch jobs for money, position, you name it and leave the kids they supposedly cared an awful lot about in the wind.
Not all Jayhawks are equal, agree there. I wouldn't consider Grimes a lifer or Bryce Thompson. But Kevin McCullar who traded teams in his own conference is a certified star in my mind for the rest of my life. Perhaps its where they end for me that matters most. The one's that stick 4/5 years are legends which is becoming increasingly rare.
I won't be upset about it
Approaching 700 in, will pass it today
I won't either, glad we didn't get him first go around
Did you enjoy the previous rules that made them sit a year in only 2 sports? Do you just miss the old ways?
This is the era where players have leverage over their own futures. I think we saw enough decades of coaches and the NCAA controlling things with too much power if you ask me.
Rumor is there will be a hearing in Late April. Mike Vernon rumor so take that with your shot of tequila.
Painful watching Caleb Love Jack up shots all year. That dude doesn't care about playing for a team
Bijan Cortes of OU in, 2nd guard to leave this offseason
