@jayballer73 Pooka sat out the Indiana State game. He had 22 carries for 99 yards against Coastal. We have large issues in every phase of the game. O-line, D-line, Special teams, which lost the game against Texas. I really feel we would have been much better if Khalil would not have left. A great one two punch with him and Pooka.
Sure hope we can have a great game against Baylor. An upset would leave a better taste in our mouth going into next year. GO HAWKS!

@KirkIsMyHinrich Jeff is an up an comer. Doing a great job at MSSU in Joplin.

Big 12 fans may remember Jo Lual Acuil. He played two years at Neosho County Juco. I was upset that KU did not give him much of a look, if any. He went on to start for Baylor and had a pretty damn good two years. I am sure he would have been a great help for us, even if it was in a reserve role. Jo was not as highly rated as Tyon.

Moral of the story: Lets give this kid a chance and see how it works out. Hope it is for the best. You just never know.

@truehawk93 Next year will not matter if we do not find someone that can shoot the ball. Worst shooting team I have seen like forever. Dotson, Q, Ochai, need to shoot 1000's of threes everyday starting tomorrow.

@kjayhawks I agree with what you say, but God Almighty it hurts so bad to see these guys play like this. We are just being crapped on by the bball Gods for whatever reason. With the Doke and SDS situations. As bad as it hurts us fans, it has to be crushing to the players knowing they may be the team to break the streak.

Besides the injuries and suspensions, we seem to be regressing on the recruiting trail also. I see all these players on other teams that are doing so well that we were enticing to KU, and wonder why they are not here. Guess the FBI and NCAA crap play a bigger part than I realize. I just hope our tradition and success will help get us back on track into elite status. Really down but not giving up. Not liking this knot in my gut, tears on my pillow, and pain in my heart.

After watching the fiasco tonight I would say we may be a 5 seed, and could very easily get sent home by a 12 seed. To avoid that scenario something drastic will have to happen. Every team now knows we can not shoot, so all they need to do is bottle up DLawson. Also can not rebound, do not value our possessions, and are pitiful defenders.. Makes for a long season and I am so sad.

@jayballer73 I thing it would depend on whether Stanley is afraid of competition or not. If he does not believe he can come in and beat someone out, he needs to stay away. Hurt is the one I want, especially if DLawson leaves. We will be in a world of hurt in the paint. No pun intended.

My perspective on the situation is that Self has to weigh the odds of do I not start him and take a chance on crushing his confidence even further, or do I continue to start him and try and let him work thru it and maybe slow the team a little?

I vote for the latter. Reason 1: It will hopefully help him to continue to learn on the fly and slowly gain more confidence. Reason 2: As @kubie stated, Ochai brings great energy to the team coming off the bench. Every successful team needs that type of player. If Ochai starts, who is going to come off the bench and give us any energy? There is no one.

Hopefully we can continue just like against ISU and Q can improve and eventually take off, and Ochai can continue to come in and give us those much needed spurts. Go Hawks. Beat Calamari!!!
