How a 16 defeats a 1 • Mar 10, 2017 03:03 AM

Re: Balance- howsabout i keep playing the part of yin and you play yang? Deal? Deal.

I travel nearly half of the week. I listen to 810. I can't stand the guys over at 610. I would not call KK a KU hater. I feel like since he is a kstater he goes out of his way to schmooz KU and not appear to KSU homer. My read could be wrong. I don't listen to him as much as I do petro. But in general it feels like the station has been going downhill the last year.

Wonder what happened to Tj and Doug over there

@BShark what is happening over at 810. They seem to be falling off if a cliff

@wissox that's point #2. and JJ did that to himself

How a 16 defeats a 1 • Mar 10, 2017 01:13 AM

@HighEliteMajor this team has what it takes to end the season with a win, but it's a razors edge.

How a 16 defeats a 1 • Mar 10, 2017 12:59 AM

Play starters until they are gased

Play without your one match up advantage

Have your shooting guard go 2-10 from 3

Terrible 3pt closeout at game point from a 3 year player

Unnecessary technicals from your head coach

Run into the all time big east leader in winning percentages coach

Airball a lob pass

Get ZERO production from your bench.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:38 PM

Only thing worse than losing that game would have been going to overtime.

JJ let the team down big time.

Svi makes the dumbest foul of the year.

Let's hope this doesn't hurt their momentum.

T minus 16 minutes until I officially start not getting any work done for the next month.

@drgnslayr has created an opportunity to throw a well oiled machine out of rhythm.

Josh Jackson.

@jaybate-1.0 thank you, sir. I think Ball slightly edges him out because of his shooting percentages and passing ability. What we don't know is that maybe Josh has more assists per game if Frank & Devonte weren't on the team. JJ Is a heck of a passer, too.

Ball definitely came with less negative publicity, that is for sure (so far, maybe there is pay for play to be revealed that I am not aware of at UCLA, but doubt it )

Hope they fit right.

A few openings this year. Will be tough to get a new coach at KSU.

I'm proud of him. He is a wonderful testament of hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself.

B12 tourney... weigh in • Mar 06, 2017 06:32 PM

2013/14 demonstrated a team running on fumes can get it done when it matters most. Maybe the hawks can match that.:+1:

Contender or Pretender? • Mar 06, 2017 04:41 PM

@Big-Clyde52 ya, I was kind of expecting that. Although I don't claim to be a bracketologist, nor anything close to it, KSU played their way out of the tournament and into a new coach the last half of the season. I do like the progress of TCU, Tech, and OU next near will be going again. That leaves KSU and UT to carry their load and get us back up to 7 teams in.

Contender or Pretender? • Mar 06, 2017 04:37 PM

no doubt, but the weave and and its wrinkles along with the inbound plays are surely still applicable.

They just can't help themselves!

I would not be a fan of this bracket if it held up.

UCLA is a tough 3 seed .

GRAYSON ALLEN IS A DIRTY PLAYER • Mar 05, 2017 06:55 PM

@approxinfinity

Respectfully.

First and foremost, I never went into a full-blown character comparison between the two players. All I said was "we have players who like to kick things, too". That is nothing more than a certain fact.

Secondly, my eldest plays traveling ball with one of Apples' college teammates, so I hear nothing but good and respectful things about Josh. So as far as a personal character assassination, I have none.

But what I am tired of is posters on this board who continuously call out the faults of other teams, coaches, and programs and then make up imaginary lines that our players don't cross in order to be able to stand up for them and say "they are different."

Here is what we know: Josh chased after a female and kicked her car. Vick 'more than likely" kicked the same woman in the face. Hence, It is not unfair for me to say that "our players like to kick things, too."

Stick up for our team and program all you want. But when you fail to hold our program and players accountable, and discredit others it gives the opinion that we might be a tad bit hypocritical.

Flakes versus Assassins • Mar 05, 2017 02:54 PM

Team is pretty solid and one of
The better 3pt teams in recent memory.

My fear is that they give up too many open 3's on defense.

GRAYSON ALLEN IS A DIRTY PLAYER • Mar 05, 2017 03:03 AM

Hey, in all fairness, Kansas has some players that like to kick things, too !!

No Suspension? Here's What You Get • Mar 04, 2017 02:55 PM

@globaljaybird it is news because it's the first time the young lady has spoken about it publicly and on record.

I wasn't aware she had been suspended for the incident, so it was new to me. It also makes Self look bad (right or wrong) in my opinion that the women's coach suspended her and self didn't.

In an age where violence against women is under a microscope( and rightfully so) it was a failed disciplinary measure imho.

No Suspension? Here's What You Get • Mar 04, 2017 02:48 PM

I agree there should have been a game or 2 suspension.

My speculation on this article is that this young lady had been informed by her coach a year ago to stay away from Vick after the alleged kick in the face incident. She approaches Vick and throws a drink in his face which not only broke rules from her coach but provoked an incident which created another eyesore for the university.

@JayHawkFanToo Fair enough, but Steph Curry shot 5% higher his soph year than he did his junior year, if you prefer a college analogy.

I hope he shoots 50% over the next 10 games. Time will tell.

@JayHawkFanToo I agree you can take that perspective, also, if that is the argument you want to make.

I'm looking at the 'anomaly' from a bigger picture. Yes, he might be considered a 50% 3 pt shooter THIS YEAR. But is he a 50% three point shooter, overall? No, I don't think he is.

Michael Jordan shot 43% from three in the 95/96 season, but he was not a 43% 3 pt shooter, either. Over his career, the larger sample size, he was about a 33% 3pt shooter, so the 95/96 season was an aberration.

@JayHawkFanToo not if the sample size was his entire career. What is his 4 year average?

Mo' Throws, No Woes • Mar 02, 2017 08:33 PM

if Frank Mason played in the same era as Valentine and Manning would he have more less or the same number of free-throw attempts.

For years I have seen board rats state that if you just give these high recruits playing time they will be ready by March. Well, it's time for Braggto prove that; he has had plenty opportunity to be ready. He needs to break out now.

12&7 • Mar 01, 2017 04:22 AM

@ralster wonder if KSU will go all in on Underwood.

HC Openings for Our KU Assistants • Mar 01, 2017 04:19 AM

@ralster no he's definitely not ready for that. But he can recruit and maybe he's ready for new tutelage?

HC Openings for Our KU Assistants • Mar 01, 2017 04:09 AM

@mayjay looks like he is saying bye to a lot of people but most of them seem to be seniors so maybe he is just giving them
Shout outs since they didn't get big speech in AFG?

12&7 • Mar 01, 2017 03:52 AM

@mayjay was mislead by fake news at kusports. Or my reading comprehension failed me...

"With one game remaining in a regular season that has seen the Jayhawks win 27 of 30 games — two of their three losses came in overtime — and ascend to the No. 1 spot in both major polls on Monday, Mason is still averaging right at 20 points per game (20.3) and is knocking on the door of becoming the first player in Big 12 Conference history to finish a season with averages of 20 points and five assists.

Mason needs seven assists in KU’s regular season finale at Oklahoma State — 5 p.m. Saturday on ESPN — to push his assists-per-game average (currently 4.93) to an even 5.0 and 12 points or more to keep his scoring average at 20 points or higher."

Challenge you all to make your signature line say 12&7 and humm your chakra!!

12&7 • Mar 01, 2017 03:41 AM

Let's speak this into existence. Frank needs 12 & 7 to end the year with 20 ppg and 5 apg Would be first time in big 12 history.

Everyone now--12&7....

8 Years of Frank • Feb 28, 2017 08:52 PM

Thing about Frank is that he's been here 4 years. Like, Perry-those who stay longer and we see grow in many ways seem to connect more to us than the Wiggs, Oubres, Sebly, Henry, etc.

The fact that Townsend truly found a diamond in the rough and then Frank made the most of it will probably seal it as Frank being the Hawk I remember and miss the most moving forward.

Whomever discovered DG also deserves some recognition.

NCAA TOURNAMENT ASSIST • Feb 28, 2017 04:31 PM

@justanotherfan on the tulsa comment, do you just stand outside and look for a seller? is that the 'market' you are referring to for the round of 32?

@jayballer54 maybe if Kansas would schedule them home and home they'd quit forcing them to play in the tourney ....

@wissox I agree with your points. I also remember several times where Kansas has been placed in more difficult brackets based on the pundits and RPI's, etc when they were the # 1 overall seed. Intentional or not, like last year having Villanova as our #2 and not being placed in the Midwest as the #1 overall seed didn't seem to add up. Nova had been # 1 right up until recently before the tournament, if I recall correctly.

part of the committees job is to create match ups to sell tickets, generate revenue, and sell advertisements. to defy that is defying logic. they also 'try' to balance this with geographic reasoning.
