@FarmerJayhawk The glass of cheer is more than half full, but I have no reason yet to believe this team is "really, really good." We are 9-2, and as @rockchalkwyo notes, our 2 losses are by 3 points total to ranked teams away from home, which isn't bad.
On the other hand, we've played just 3 teams highly likely to make the tournament, and we're 1-2 against them. We don't have a road win. We don't have anyone who can consistently make an open 3 and we lack ballhandlers. We still struggle to defend the 3, even with 4 out and 1 in. As always seems to be the case, we are a lousy FT shooting team.
Despite the issues defending the arc, we are a good defensive team and defense does travel, so even when the offense isn't clicking, we can stay in games and pick up class Selfian ugly wins. But unless we can make outside shots, we can also be beaten by any other decent team.
Four of the next six games on the road. That stretch will give us a much better indication of how good this group of Jayhawks is.
KU loses to Villanova, Texas getting whipped by (6-6) Providence so far, and last year's national title runner-up is down at halftime to mighty Rio Grand Valley.... B12 just not very good this year. Baylor is the only who has really beaten anyone....
On their home floor, we hold them to 35% from the field, 25% from 3, they only had 2 FT attempts, and we outrebounded them. Should have won this by 15....

They are getting either wide open looks from 3 or pretty clear lanes to the bucket...
We simply don't have anyone who can make outside shots with any semblance of consistency. Moss and Ochai streaky at best. Entire offense is dumping in to Doke...
We already miss Garrett.....
Their passing and ball movement is much better than ours...

Bottom line - if we don't make a few 3 pointers, we are going to struggle to score against good defensive teams. Including this one, we have 5 of next 7 games on the road. I would take 5-2 in a heartbeat...
Neither team is making shots, but they are certainly getting better looks...

@stoptheflop Same issues as against Milwaukee. You would think/hope our bench guys would be better than middling mid-major guys, but they're not showing it...

Not a pretty half so far - they've outscored us, outrebounded us and forced more TOs....
We had 45 points in the 1st 14 minutes - 22 points in the last 16 minutes....
