@nuleafjhawk The "T" is there, man. Keep looking.
Well, this sucks. Come on, Jaybate. I've got nothing to read.!endoftheinternet.jpg ↗
@JayhawkRock78 Whatchoo talking about, man? Waterskiing?
I couldn't help but notice she has a large head.
Thank you Wisconsin!
Oh yeah... also, I think Perry will stay another year and tear up the Big 12!
Bring on Under Armour. Better labor practices than any of the other big names. Better quality stuff too than Nike or Adidas.
Hopefully KU being an adidas school weeds out the stupid kids who think brands matter. (really, we're really only talking about Michael Jordan here building the Nike brand. The rest are coat tail hangers.) It obviously doesn't catch all the prima donnas, but I'm OK if the majority of "ME" guys only want to play in Nikes. Whatever. Go to Texas or KY for a year or two. It does sicken me to see schools actually farm their entire sports branding out to Nike Design. (No conflict of interest there?)
On the other hand, Adidas apparel designers SUCK. I'm almost thankful that Wisconsin lost in the championship because those F-ing hideous badger bagger stripe uni's would have been immortalized in Wisconsin's athletics shrine for the next 100 years.
Is Puma still around? Converse? Saucony? Sketchers. Keen? Merrill? New Balance? Keds? Bueller? Bueller?...
I've been to one NBA game. NY Knicks at Cleveland in January 1997. Patrick Ewing didn't play (injured). I think Herb Williams from Ohio State back in the 70s started instead--he had to be about 50 years old. The score was 75-65. John Starks and Terrell Brandon chucked about 40 shots between the two of them and made about a third of them. It was the most boring sporting event I've ever seen in my entire life. In hindsight, it probably was a lot like some of today's college games.
That was enough NBA for me.
I did get to drive through a blizzard to get back to Youngstown, Ohio. So that was kind of exciting.
@JayhawkRock78 It was a joy to see how he developed into his potenti .... oh, never mind.
@Crimsonorblue22 One of the reasons I like Holly... that pic--staying out of the way during an important moment. Plus she knows the Big 12 and what the hell she's talking about and asks decent questions. (Unlike Mushberger, et al, and the vapid eye candy women ESPN is desperate to replace her with.)
UK already shot over twice as many free throws, but they're chucking bricks. Only so much the refs can do, I guess.
Curious to see how the refs manage to pull this one out for the slime cats. ND needs to hit some shots and negate the corruption.
Scary how hot Wisconsin had to be to get past AZ... On Wisconsin, Wissox!
Barnes canned. I'll be Shocked if Marshall is not their new head coach.
@jaybate-1.0 What can she fix to keep guys from rolling on their teammate's knees?
The best thing a trainer can do is give the guys the mental confidence in their bodies to just go ALL OUT 100% of the time + the best possible physical preparation to carry out that quest.
With Selden, I don't think she's succeeding in either case, but her record is pretty remarkable otherwise. She has that whole statistical analysis study going on, so maybe she'll publish a paper explaining her mistakes.
@Lulufulu Man, I can't believe I forgot about Tarik. He was another pleasant surprise on that 13-14 team.
@highelitemajor and @drgnslayr Graham has a great reputation on campus according to some faculty members I know who've had him in class and totally love the kid's exuberance... he's sounds like a potential role model, leader, "team uniter" kind of guy (which I think we've been missing the past two seasons). Too much to ask from a freshman, but he sure didn't seem like a typical freshman either this year.
OK.. starting to see some bright points. I promise I'll shake off the doom and gloom in the next couple months!
Seriously? This is BY FAR the least of Ku's problems. If you guys ran into Hudy in person--say, in the small appliance isle at Target like I did recently--you'd probably pee down your legs. (and she's not big at all as she appears on TV). Embiid has been back in Lawrence to work with her, so I think that probably says it all.
Aldrich's knees naturally bend backward, so he would have been doomed if not for Hudy. Withey wouldn't have sniffed the NBA if not for Hudy. The Morrii couldn't even dunk the ball their freshman year. In 11-12, we were one serious injury away from being a bottom dweller in the B12, and two Hudy iron men (Tyshawn and TRob) carried that team to the national championship game.
ALSO... Keep in mind, it took 3-4 years for her to build those guys up. So, if anything, there just hasn't been time for her to mold these young guys. GREENE. Looking at you in particular, pencil legs.
So many similarities between the past two seasons. And, we're basically on the same dang merry-go-round going into next year: same core group a year older, with a promising young new big in Bragg and probably an even younger 18-year old Svi playing on the wing. Still fun, but it does gets a little less exciting each time around.

2015-16
Here we go again...
I wonder what the record is for teams following up their season/career highlight win of beating KU with a turd of a performance. ISU... KSU... Mizzou... WVU... OSU... now Wichita State. Good grief.
I'm not too excited. I'd be thrilled if Oubre came back for another year, but I have my doubts. So, the future roster looks a lot like the current roster except they'll all be a year older and slower.
Coaching will be the same. Bill's hair will be exactly the same. We can all dream about a new offense, but it'll be a dream only.
Svi is really the one guy with the upside to be a game-changer for the team, and that depends on whether Self will actually use him to create match-up problems. Probably not.
Perry will hopefully be the Perry he was before the knee injury. If so, he can carry the team pretty far, but not by himself.
Mason will still be solid, but not a dominant guy that can get us through a 6-game tourney.
Devonte will still be a hair over 6 feet tall. I'd hate to see him and Mason be the starting 1 and 2.
Selden will either get completely healthy and find his mojo, or he'll be playing in Nicaragua with Tharpe and Selby.
Mickelson will still sit on the bench, wondering why he didn't take more classes and graduate this year so he could transfer.
Lucas will be a double-double guy every now and then.
Bragg will be a freshman, and I expect less from him than we got from Cliff and Oubre.
Greene... sigh. Who knows.
Jamari... Now I know how some of you guys felt about Brady Morningstar.
Those last two guys I'd rather not see come back unless they get a radical attitude change. That said, I'd prefer they get their s**t together and we keep the entire remaining roster for the sake of stability.
@justanotherfan Self isn't going to change. He has never EVER exploited matchup advantages. Once every three or four years he'll adopt something new if he sees some other coach (i.e., Izzo) have success with it. Maybe Hunter would get to play against an opponent's 6'6" center if he could hang around two or three more years.
Frankly, I'm not really too excited about next year. Other than a couple bright spots, I don't expect it to be much different than this year or last. Same coaching philosophy. Same inconsistent players. Same headcase problems with too many of them.
@HighEliteMajor Lots of other living to do between now and then, HEM!
I doubt anyone will transfer voluntarily with the chance to play internationally this summer.
BUT... It's bizarre, as a KU fan, once again to sit back and wonder who will be back next year considering we have one walk-on player graduating. It's also a bit bizarre that I'm not crushed we lost today. I'm sure the two things are related.
@wissoxfan83 Everyone shopping in Dillons had their KU gear on... like every other day.
Probably empty right now though.
The reasonable fans are feeling the same way we'll feel when we meet Kentucky in the regional final...combination of b and c.
The unreasonable fans are talking more smack than ever since they know they only have about 6-7 hours left to do it.
@DoubleDD If mason could learn to run a fast break, I'd have absolutely nothing to complain about with him.
Watching on my phone driving home from tampa. Gotta love technology... Wife's driving is making me more nervous than the game
Announcers are acting like Kentucky shouldn't be bothered to even play the game
pirates are holding their own in the first5 minutes
Would love to see a Robert Morris style collapse by Kentucky
I thought that was wissox's kid. Never really looked at it that closely before, LOL.
The Big 12 is still the best conference from top to bottom. But I agree with HEM that getting a team to the final four is the only way prove it.
One team in particular would be enough for me!
Is anyone really surprised that Texas, Baylor and ISU went down? Three perennial tournament under-achievers. And -- if we're completely honest -- KU doesn't have the best record of playing up to the seeding either. I definitely don't argue with people when they say the Big12 is overrated except to point out that it's solid from top to bottom unlike every other conference.
I don't get why guys (e.g., Shaka Smart) who obviously have a full set of follicles shave their heads. It's a mystery.
@brooksmd They call that tournament the "Big 12 Championship" which is pretty stupid considering the big 12 also promotes the One True Champion. My misery nephew was wearing 2012 Mizzou big 12 champions sweatshirt the year they won the tournament (KU won the conference by 2 full games) and I'm sure ISU fans were all wearing theirs today when they watched the clones choke again.
!2015MBB_ChampBanner.png ↗
We better have our act together too!
Just turned it on. Figures. I thought the ISU Cyclowns had choked enough the past few years that they might actually make a run this year. NOPE. They need to stop winning the big 12 tournament.
@drgnslayr said:
All I'm saying is the FACT that Self went to school at OSU... and I wish he had gone to school at KU, so he could relate more motivational stories to his troops.
I disagree too, not with the FACT that Self went to OSU and that you wish he'd gone to KU, but with the ASSUMPTION that it would necessarily make him a better motivator. Like a bunch of Bill's stories of his heroics from the glory days of short shorts is going to motivate these young guys? Hell, have Greg Gurley give them that kind of pep talk before each game then.
@Crimsonorblue22 Always good to have Holly around to keep the morons in line. People like to make fun of her (unfortunately), but she knows the Big 12. And she asks better questions than Brent or Fran or any other sideline jockey on ESPN.
Heh heh. Back in the 80s, there was no love lost between those fans. Iowa has stunk so long that half of ISU's BB fanbase might actually appreciate the Hawkeye shout out.
I like Rico Gathers. Fran and Brent... not so much.
The climax of the game for Brent was when Baylor made two baskets in a row to get within 7 or something, and as they cut to commercial, Brent went into full blown Baylor/Rico Gathers hype mode like a good ESPN robot is supposed to do. And you could still tell he was faking it.
Supposedly, Perry is playing... ↗
Big article about it on the LJW site
Self: Perry Ellis back in KU starting lineup against Baylor
By Staff Reports
*Injured KU forward Perry Ellis will return to the court against Baylor in Friday's Big 12 tournament semifinal game, KU coach Bill Self said during pregame interviews.
Ellis, who has missed the Jayhawks' last two games with a knee injury, will replace Jamari Traylor in the starting lineup, Self said, according to KU officials.
KU plays Baylor at 6 p.m. Friday at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.*
@Crimsonorblue22 That's pretty funny. A couple other memes floating around the internet:
Meh. I'm done with the Cliff drama. He was barely contributing when he was in the rotation. Very little growth over the year compared to Oubre and Devonte. He's done, he's toast, and he was a complete waste of a scholarship and a year's effort by the coaching staff. The legal wrangling just makes me more nauseous about the entire situation.
I'm cheering for the team we have at this point.
@Crimsonorblue22 This guy was cutting edge... prison/hipster style mashup
@Crimsonorblue22 NCST won 81-70.
@nuleafjhawk It crosses cultures, Nuleaf. I saw a redheaded pasty white guy in his early 20s with a hipster beard trying to waddle across Mass Street last week wearing khaki skinny pants that were cinched around the top of his thighs. I literally pointed and laughed and it felt kind of good to be getting old.
Exhibit B: Pull your pants up, number 10.
NC State wore them yesterday against Pitt, and they looked predictably stupid. On TV they look like sagger shorts.

(Probably got the camo idea last year from this dude. Next year, don't be shocked to see the "jersey pulled over the head" look)
I was going to make some predictions then realized they were almost the same as yours Beddie. The only matchup I'm looking forward to watching is against OU.
