@BShark what Nike school was Udoka bound for before we intercepted?

Florida State. Looked like a lock until it wasn’t. Something happened and all the sudden it was KU/UNC.

Weird time to opt out but okay

Obligatory lol miz. Down 18 at home in the first half.

UNC down to noted power Georgia Tech. They’re talented but wow do the pieces not fit

KU in it for Nick Smith high 4 star guard. #27.

Norm on the lead here.

Norm is workin lately. Not sure KU has a great shot here but he is a great talent. Seems like Auburn is the favorite.

I’d keep an eye out there. Aubs, KU, Arky, UNC the top tier.

I guarantee if Iowa played in the Big 12 we all would loathe Fran McCaffrey more than any other coach in the conference. Maybe he's nice in person or whatever, but he's such a whiner.

He’s an absolute prick. Was Gregggggg 1.0

They issued a self-ban on postseason play this year. Stunning and brave.

New OL coach! Lee Grimes. Played at A&M, coached at Minnesota and most recently Charlotte. Deep connections in Texas. Fits the mold of Les’s hires so far. Comes from a big college program, and is young and hungry. We’ll see if it pays off. I at least think it’s an upgrade over Meadows (I know, low bar.)

Back from Christmas social hiatus Hot Taek: we would’ve been worse with RJ. Not really a shooter, and Moss singlehandedly won us a game or two. He was kind of redundant to Dot.

If UK keeps up the suckage and Bill somehow wins the street car derby with a trash can lid on roller skates KU may cut the all-time wins down to single digits this year.

Go Heels

It has not. I really think he ends up in 21 though.

The lockdown in the Netherlands really hurt Enaruna. Couldn’t get in the weight room, was hard to find a place to put up shots, couldn’t be around his teammates and had to work around the time differences, etc. Really hope he sticks because he’s really talented.

Ok, need some help here. - -We got a commitment from a Punter, which is good seeing as how Thompson entered the portal - - - -it was a PWO which I think is good for KU because the kid looks like got a good leg which I think if things continue he will get plenty of chance to use - -BUT is the # 21 punter it says - has a 5 * punter rating - - 3* kicker rating - -Grayden Addison

So here is my question cause I am not sure - -don't quite understand , what is the PWO exactly it's a partial Scholi right ? - -or what exactly how does that work ? - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Preferred walk-on’s don’t get any financial aid since partials aren’t allowed for football (it’s a headcount sport). They just don’t have to go through try-outs to get a spot on the team.

Ahh thanks I appreciate it. - - now he can get a Scholi right later?

Yes. After a year he can go on scholarship and not use an initial counter. He’ll count agains the 85 but not the 25 counter cap.

Thanks again I knew you could help me out

Any time my man. Also, White signing bumped us to #6 in the Big 12. It’s a minor miracle we could put together a class like this after getting housed all year.

It could be a blueshirt where he’s not on scholarship until August, but he’s a Jayhawk.

Cool greatly appreciated

KU has now announced Scott. I think Grays is close to a lock, there was just some bureaucracy that meant he couldn’t sign early. I feel pretty confident Edwin White will announce he’s signed with KU tomorrow. And so will end the early period.

So tell me , - - what do you think about the smoke from people that say KU is trying to get involved with the Washington 4 * QB that entered the Transfer Portal ? - -You think there is any fire to that or just a bunch of idle smoke ? - - He had a family member play at KU sometime back I guess , whatcha think ? - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

They’ll reach out to any they think can play right away and have multiple years. I don’t know whether that interest is being reciprocated though. We may not have anyone until after spring ball.

@FarmerJayhawk True, but too often a player is overlooked simply because of size. Not overlooking legions of undersized guys; just saying that size doesn't mean everything when it comes to recruiting. There are some small guys in pro sports doing quite well after doing well at the collegiate level.

I get that. My point is those guys are outliers. Perfect example in this class. Tank Young from Aquinas is 5’6. If he was 5’10 205 would he have more offers? Maybe, but his tape and measureables don’t warrant a spot at KU, even though he put up gaudy numbers. He’s definitely not Sproles, who KU absolutely whiffed on.

Coaching Carousel • Dec 17, 2020 01:30 AM

@COHawk said in Coaching Carousel:

@FarmerJayhawk How tall was Willie Pless? or Todd Reesing?

Ok that’s 2 examples in close to 40 years. You’re ignoring the legions of undersized guys without solid measureables that can’t do it at this level.

If you look at our really good teams over the years, they all had real pro talent. The Orange Bowl team had Talib, Harris, Hawkinson, Briscoe, etc. Mason’s best teams had pro talent on the lines.

I’d rather take my chances with guys who look good on film and can develop than diamonds in the rough. Beaty tried that and it went poorly.

Only two verbals that didn't sign are Lawrence and Grays. If we can keep those two plus land a transfer (Les wants true or RS frosh from the portal) that's a grand slam in 21. At some point I'll sketch out a ROUGH two deep for next season. From what I have now, it'll be mostly guys with 3 or less years in the program. It's coming.

Are you sure just the two ? - - I read of TOS that it was three that didn't sign. - - Lawrence , Grey's - -AND Scott just curious buddy.

Like you say it's coming just takes time

Scott signed. One of his buddies from Alabama might be next...
