It’s getting torn down to the studs (plus Jamari)

Wasn't Jamari supposed to be a great shooter? We gonna see that next year?

He’s got some potential there. But right now he’s a poor mans Travis Releford

“When guys commit you don’t cease contact”

Either the board doesn’t read or it doesn’t comprehend - not sure which

Yeah you have a relationship and keep in touch but flying out for a senior night…says a whole lot

Go find me where Self or an assistant went to Josh Jackson, or Embiid, or Wiggins Senior Night and get back to me

There’s some smoke that yeah adidas is holding this together but the reason Townsend was out there on a Friday night wasn’t because “I’m supporting DP for senior night”

Well Josh and Wiggs didn’t commit until after their seasons were over so there was no worry they’d decommit before they committed. Darryn is as rock solid as it gets to KU.

Super stoked for the seniors. Really nice win.

Chiefs offseason • Mar 07, 2025 11:37 PM

@wissox right? So far we've traded for a starting center and Thuney. Ben and Poles aren't messing around in rebuilding the OL.

All of a Sudden • Mar 06, 2025 12:44 AM

His base doesn’t care but I was somewhat amused at the basics of the federal budget he just totally made up

RSV • Mar 01, 2025 12:36 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 getting there! I’m still pretty tired and coughing a lot but I can at least get out and do a few things here and there.

RSV • Feb 28, 2025 05:35 PM

Holy hell this is no joke. It wiped out pretty much all my February. Stay well, folks.

I love that Diggy is coming back. He’s a perfect 8/9th man and won’t chase away any portal guys

@FarmerJayhawk That's the point.

Miami who is terrible and MSU who doesn’t really use the portal? Unless it’s sarcasm I missed?

@jay4ever said in If Bill’s roster falls apart…:

@kuballin10 Nah, not just because of the big three, I’d say. A great coach will be able to model plays based on each player's capability, instead of forcing them to play his way. That's what we're seeing night in and night out.
Flory will flourish had he played in teams like Miami, or MSU. There's something really wrong when you see transfers' numbers go down across the board. The system is bad. Period.

Those are WILD examples

Wait, KU is playing? • Feb 12, 2025 03:44 AM

A win is a win. Not an inspiring one but they all count the same.

If Bill’s roster falls apart… • Feb 11, 2025 12:59 AM

If it’s me, I’m hiring a front office type group with a GM, recruiting guys, and analysts to do all the portal scouting and most of the recruiting. It’s clearly paid huge dividends on the football side and I’m not sure a small handful of assistant coaches can handle coaching, scouting, the portal, and NIL. Go get some young, hungry guys who want to prove themselves. I’d look at the NBA first.

If Bill’s roster falls apart… • Feb 10, 2025 05:19 AM

@kjayhawks the Roy thing I don’t get. In 14 years at KU, he got bounced in the second round 5 times, the Sweet 16 4, Elite Eight once, 3 final fours, 2 championship games, 0 titles. By any measure Bill has been far better than Roy at KU. If Bill had Roy’s record at KU people would be chasing him out of Lawrence with torches and pitchforks.

If Bill’s roster falls apart… • Feb 10, 2025 03:40 AM

Beyond basketball, which Bill absolutely deserves to hang around, it would be a nearly $30 million expense plus paying buyouts and salaries of a new staff, so probably over $40 million total. Looking forward to the proposals on how to pay for that when we have NIL, RevShare, and finishing the stadium on the ADs books.

2025 Schedule • Feb 05, 2025 01:37 AM

I need to do WAY more research to figure out who’s got what, but 8-4 seems like a reasonable goal. I’m really optimistic about the offense. It’ll look a lot more like 22-23 than 24 in terms of motions, shifts, option game. The OL and DB groups are a little concerning. But it’s the Big 12, everyone is varying degrees of mediocre so who knows?

Bounceback night What a sight • Feb 04, 2025 05:08 AM

Again, say whatever about the lineups, Bill, a boar’s ass, on your own time. AFH is hallowed ground. You don’t bitch about work at church. And that’s the last I’m saying about it. Great win tonight, I’m looking forward to Saturday at the Annual Bramlage Sellout.

Bounceback night What a sight • Feb 04, 2025 04:59 AM

@kuballin10 he doesn’t care much at all. And not like he came over the mic and said hey students you suck. Worth noting he never called out my cohorts even when we had a couple not great years.

Bounceback night What a sight • Feb 04, 2025 04:49 AM

@kuballin10 when the Fieldhouse is pumped and not bitching about lineups it absolutely rattles people. They can complain in the dorms on discord or here or wherever but when they’re in that building, you either cheer your ass off for who’s on the court or be loud as hell to rattle the other team or boo the refs. That’s it.

Bounceback night What a sight • Feb 04, 2025 04:35 AM

@kuballin10 yeah it’s a real huge mystery who they want benched. It’s an absolute chickenshit move for the crowd to start bitching about lineups when we’re beating a top 10 team. Stay in your lane, AFH crowd. Yelling at Self won’t rattle the road team. Do that shit on your own time.

Bounceback night What a sight • Feb 04, 2025 04:29 AM

@kuballin10 they chanted “we want Flory” when KJ started

Bounceback night What a sight • Feb 04, 2025 04:17 AM

KJ takes a lot of static (even from our own crowd tonight, which was chickenshit) but he was very good tonight. Glad to see him bounce back. It was a good matchup for him as well. ISU isn’t exactly the prime Warriors in terms of offensive execution so his athleticism and toughness really stood out.

Real tragedy tonight / American Airline crash • Feb 04, 2025 04:03 AM

@kjayhawks thank you, bud. It’s been a rough couple days. It doesn’t help to see her slandered all over the internet but such is the world we live in. But the truth is what matters.

Real tragedy tonight / American Airline crash • Feb 02, 2025 12:09 AM

@nuleafjhawk thank you, nuleaf. I’m also angry because of all the misinformation (much of which came from 1600 Penn) about the pilot before her name was released. I can assure everyone Rebecca, a 4.0 student and college hooper, didn’t need special treatment to accomplish whatever she wanted in this life.

Real tragedy tonight / American Airline crash • Feb 02, 2025 12:00 AM

@approxinfinity thank you, approx. Everyone go read as much as you can about Rebecca. It’s a tragedy but her impact was really something

Real tragedy tonight / American Airline crash • Feb 01, 2025 11:52 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 than you, Crims. I’m heartbroken. She was really the best of us. Also a certified hooper. If she wasn’t called to public service she could’ve been a D1 coach no question. May her memory be eternal.

Real tragedy tonight / American Airline crash • Feb 01, 2025 10:38 PM

Oh this is awful. Rebecca and I dated for a hot second and remained friends after it was clear we weren’t compatible. In addition to being a total badass, she was a total sweetheart. Good news for KU/Big 12- -TV • Jan 31, 2025 03:28 AM

@approxinfinity yeah, I don’t have any issue with PE in general, but PE and college athletics (who are technically non-profits) seems like a marriage destined to go poorly.

@approxinfinity said in Good news for KU/Big 12- -TV:

@FarmerJayhawk what are the likely consequences of this?

I don’t know all the details but in the short term the league gets an influx of cash. Long term the PE firm will need a return on that investment so it’ll have the league over a barrel chasing every last dollar. Like they could dictate where the league’s postseason is, change the format, change rules for a made for tv product, all that not good stuff.

The Potomac is a huge chopper corridor and also is a really typical approach for commercial flights. Close calls have been an issue for years there since it’s such crowded airspace.

On a more somber note, horrible news out of Virginia. It sure appears we lost many fellow Kansans on the Potomac.

@FarmerJayhawk "It’s fine if you don’t believe or care about that though."

I don't know what to make of this. Ok, we've had a low rate of transfer. So far. Because there are no regulations, the whole team could transfer next year. It's a stupid system that yields inconsistencies and the best players go to the highest bidders.

Since the portal and NIL was a thing. At most you can count to 1 as far as players from last year’s team that left for money. Losing talent to bag chasers hasn’t and likely won’t be a massive issue for KU.

It's fantastic that we're getting such great talent. It is not fantastic that next year they'll be going to whomever pays them more than KU.

We’ve had extremely low transfer and decommitment numbers under Lance, less than 10 scholarship guys per year. It’s fine if you don’t believe or care about that though.
