Atta boy Zuby. He does those things other bigs can’t. Elite activity level

Pitt State Gorillas Game Thread • Nov 04, 2022 12:55 AM

@kuballin10 he’s not as good a lob guy as Udeh, no. But he’s certainly the better all around big right now.

Pitt State Gorillas Game Thread • Nov 04, 2022 12:52 AM

Ok so we have our best 4

Pitt State Gorillas Game Thread • Nov 04, 2022 12:51 AM

Pitt State Gorillas Game Thread • Nov 04, 2022 12:40 AM

@kuballin10 MJ has to learn how to play defense and play within a structure. He was Mr. Jack Up Whatever in high school and isn’t a great shooter. He’ll take some time to get going, but Bill did say he’ll be a different guy in February than November. He knows a thing or two about getting the best out of guys

@BShark at very least someone in the SID’s office has a sense of humor. I can’t bring myself to feel anything about the starting lineup for Pitt State

Pitt State Gorillas Game Thread • Nov 03, 2022 10:03 PM

@BShark it’s in the game notes PDF 😂 https://kuathletics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/KUMBB_Pitt-State_exhibition.pdf ↗

Gonzaga? • Nov 03, 2022 01:08 PM

@Jethro right. Worth noting it only applies to current P5 teams, so the networks would have to negotiate a separate payout structure if Gonzaga joined. I can’t imagine it would keep each slice of the pie at least as large as this deal. https://sportsbusinessjournal.com/SB-Blogs/Newsletter-College/2022/11/01.aspx ↗

Gonzaga? • Nov 03, 2022 02:36 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 it’s all one contract. Fox and ESPN bought all the rights and will split both football and basketball. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/SB-Blogs/Breaking-News/2022/10/Big-12-renews-media-deal-ESPN-Fox.aspx ↗

Gonzaga? • Nov 03, 2022 01:53 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I don’t think they’re worth $35m, or even close to the number it would take to make everyone whole. They’d have to take a really small payout to make it worth it for the other members.

Gonzaga? • Nov 03, 2022 12:57 AM

The only way it makes any sense is if they took a drastically lower payout than the other members, or were some kind of add on that didn’t affect the other payouts. The economic value just isn’t that great.

Gonzaga? • Nov 02, 2022 08:42 PM

Yikes no thx ?s=46&t=IplQeKGNxzQwv8VTCPkKPA

@drgnslayr I agree entirely. It’s just a few games, and yeah it’ll suck having ESPN drag us through the mud all night, especially against their golden child. But at this point the process has been the punishment and it’s time for it all to end.

2023 croots • Oct 31, 2022 02:50 PM

Logan is a huge pickup. If anyone can tap into that potential, it's Fuchs. The back room guys did a ton of work on his background and apparently was good to go. 2 years to play 2. Now he is just a verbal and could decommit any time between now and when classes start in January, but he's the type who wanted to get his recruitment done and over with. Hence the radio silence around the whole thing.

2023 Recruiting • Oct 27, 2022 09:45 PM

Sad story all around here. Decent chance a lot of these guys don’t get eligible since Donda is… uhhh… not exactly on the NCAA green list https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/34890157/ye-donda-academy-dropped-hoops-events-amid-reports-closure ↗

@jayballer67 they storm after every win. It’s their thing ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Third Time's A Charm ? Baylor Game Thread • Oct 22, 2022 06:53 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 injured. I think shoulder

@Crimsonorblue22 not sure. We’d need a lot of teams to not win 6

We’re getting win #6. Not sure exactly when it’ll be, but I’m very confident we’ll go bowling.

Third Time's A Charm ? Baylor Game Thread • Oct 22, 2022 06:12 PM

Had to run out for a bit and heard a rock chalk behind me. Was none other than Chancellor BGL!

Positive/Feel Good Stuff • Oct 20, 2022 11:57 PM

After a long time considering options (which, I'm incredibly fortunate to have a few), I've decided to finish my PhD then leave the academy and take a job with a non-profit doing some research and some advocacy on issues I care about. A huge part of this decision was it being a fully remote gig, and being able to live wherever I want. My grandparents are in their 80's and could use some family fairly close by since my mother semi-retired to South Dakota and my uncle lives in western Colorado. So! I put in an application on a few houses and am moving back to Lawrence next summer after I graduate!! I'm unbelievably pumped to head back to the area. One of the houses is like 2 blocks from my old apartment in LFK on Ohio St. :). I cannot wait to hit up the Williams Fund and Endowment and start giving back to the university I love so much (including getting on that long ass list for hoops tickets). Who knows, maybe there will even be a wait on football tickets??

KU's Secret Scrimmage • Oct 20, 2022 11:51 PM

Unlike last year, I will not have eyes on this one. But will report back secondhand stuff as it comes!

I wonder what the format will be? Last year against Tulsa it was very structured (e.g. running specific scenarios, playing against pre-called stuff like a press). Wonder if it'll be the same deal here.

Late Night • Oct 18, 2022 01:31 AM

@BeddieKU23 there were a bunch of 24 and 25 kids there. Honestly I’m not sure which 23 guys would’ve even been candidates to come officially.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 06:49 PM

@nwhawkfan the personnel is also really bad. We have, maybe one P5 quality corner? Not much at DE except Phelps. And a lack of overall team speed.
