Getting rid of the IC cap for 22 and 23 should open the door to adding more HS guys since we can mine both the portal and high school without worrying about hitting the IC cap. As of now, we'll be at 69 (nice) scholarship guys when fall camp opens. We'll add more, but 2023 should be a really big class between portal, JuCo, and high school. Say we go into the year with 75. We have 7 seniors who will definitely exhaust eligibility plus 12 4th and 5th years who can stick around but many won't. So the 2023 class could be 30+ to get to 85.

Periodic dispatch from the little Apple⌠thereâs a thread on their board basically accusing Lisa Braun of being a child predator for hosting Mosely and taking the now infamous photo. They hate us so much they canât fathom anyone affiliated with KU would do something even remotely charitable.

To paraphrase Matthew Mcconnahey in Dazed and Confused, what i love about the NBA draft is that while the Lakers get one year older, the rest of the league stays the same age! Giggity.
I cackled
Jalen going to the show. They may not have to get creative with the roster after all
I made the 22-23 roster in NCAA 2k8 with Hunter and McCullar. My first half out against SC St. I was up 28-4, which seems about right đ
If it were me, I'd push for Hunter's commitment in May, figure out how to add McCullar later this summer. There's no rush, you can petition summer enrollment until mid-June. Or he could just wait until fall, which would be weird but given the awkward situation where someone leaves in late June it might have to work that way.
Ok after reading this Iâm sold. â As a spot-up shooter, McCullarâs percentages become much more encouraging for his long-term projections. McCullar shot 42% on open catch-and-shoot threes, 35% overall on catch-and-shoot threes, and 35% on three-pointers in the halfcourt, per SynergyâŚâ
âBut my favorite part about watching Kevin this weekend was seeing his personality on and off the floor. My takeaway? McCullar will be a welcome addition to any locker room.
One instance that showed me the kind of person that Kevin is was when McCullarâs teenage rebounder let him know that he couldn't attend the nightly workout session because he had his own basketball game in the morning. McCullar responded by asking what time it was because he wanted to pull up and support him. Thatâs the kind of stuff you canât see by watching game film.â

KUâs call here. I really think he wouldâve popped for us had we pushed.

It's already been reported that hes gonna be visiting why would it not be worked out
When I said awhile ago everyone be patient, things will get worked out, this is what I meant. The staff is being extremely methodical in recruiting transfers, and that approach is getting reciprocated.
This is stuff working out
If we get Hunter weâll be a stupid good defensive team. Scoring might be a challenge but theyâll scrape together enough offense to be a really, really good team.
Tuesday for Hunterâs visit.

Last visit is nice, certainly beats not getting one.
Fo sho. I really think theyâd take his commitment if heâd hold off a bit after visiting. Have to see CB through the process
Kaine Williams off the board to the corn. Still have a shot at Grant. Some commitments should come this week

@Crimsonorblue22 I think Farmer is talking about experience within the program. Guys that know what it takes to play for Self. Just because the freshman Didnât play much and Cam and Cuffe redshirted doesnât mean they didnât gain experience Im a big on team chemistry and Iâm sure the staff is as well.
Couldnât have said it better myself!
@Crimsonorblue22 said in 2022 Transfer Portal Thread:
@FarmerJayhawk so they think there's a chance w/CB?
60-40 he leaves, last I heard. Which to be fair is speculation. Heâll be back if he bombs the combine and gets a 2nd round grade. Itâs not a situation where he has to leave to make money. The Brauns are well off.
Bottom line is the staff really likes who they have and donât want to go boot a guy who just won a title. Will Cuffe be any good? Shoot, I donât know. He played 2 years of HS ball and redshirted. They took him knowing it could be awhile before he could play here. I think they want some experience up front so keeping Cam makes sense. Theyâve been burned by teams without great team chemistry (eg 13-14, 18-19) so I donât think they want to plug in a bunch of new starters and hope it works out.

Mosley to Mississippi State is looking very likely.
Rumors within the KU staff?
Theyâre dead quiet. Only word Iâve gotten is theyâll pursue once CB and Jalen make their choices. Their clear preference is to run it all the way back. There arenât any offers out right now.
Made Edwardsâs top 10. I donât think we end up with him but I think we get an official đŚ View Tweet?s=21&t=SP0cyfJrc-3Z2lklI13b8g
Worth noting the grad transfer deadline is July 1 for spring sports.
To my knowledge no transfer has a committable offer to KU right now. The staffâs dream is everyone comes back. If Braun stays in then theyâll move. But, for example, if Tyrese Hunter wanted to commit tomorrow we donât have a spot. If weâre able to add spots later then that will change but as of now, nobody can commit to KU.

Good chance the Houston game doesnât happen
Why is this ?
Official reason: theyâll be on our schedule next year so we donât want to play them in non-con
Real reason: we want an easier game, and another home game.
Sounds like Bowling Green

that would be sweet if we could land him . S from Alabama right if he is the one I'm thinking of. - -If we could some how land him and be able to Swing Grant ? - -Purdue ?
I know they'd take both, but I think only one commits at most.

Relevant for this thread is that the D1 Council is considering blowing up the hard cap for scholarships by sport. If you want to put 25 on scholarship for hoops, go for it (Title IX applies). 150 football? Knock yourself out. Just have a womenâs rowing squad of 300.
Lots left to play out.

Sounds like the sketchiest NIL deal yet. He played it smart though
Westmoreland is up to 260+ now, so heâll play the SDE spot opposite Phelps. I think heâs solid depth, but not starter material this year or maybe even next.
I think we have the best shot at Grant. Have the feeling Bunkley-Shelton goes to OU and Williams Nebraska. But itâs really good we got those dudes to all visit. Gives us a punchers chance

Also this class is far from done. With the 25 + 7 cap going the way of the dodo we may be looking at 5+ more commits by the time fall camp rolls around.
wait what happened with the cap?
Looks like the NCAA will do away with the cap for at least a year or two to deal with all the turnover and covid year stuff. TBD if they bring it back once all this calms down.
