@drgnslayr Guns don't kill people....its those darn bullets.
@Crimsonorblue22 Willie is weird for sure, but now way creepier. Did you look at that face? it's like a character from a bad B horror movie.

Is there any creepier mascot out there?
@wrwlumpy I threw out my back just watching the video!
@Crimsonorblue22 You should all be thankful it is not my box! It is Bill's. My 2A high-school girls coaching resume attracted not even an NAIA offer😄. As a coach I made a pretty good financial planner!
@KansasComet He came off as very calculated in when he gave full effort. OAD diva syndrome. Don't get me wrong, I liked Wiggs. Yes he was dialed in for the WVA game, but he did that once. And not in the tourney. Had he had the want to I think JJ has, he should have had 4-5 games+ where he dominated. Maybe self did not let him, but he just seemed too passive, like he knew he was saving it for the league. I would bet JJ in a handful of games already has more floor burns. I just like JJs demeanor (sans the silly techs) much much more.
@Crimsonorblue22 Wiggs needed the toughening box because he was not tough. No where near the want to that JJ possesses. He should have been able to carry us In The tourney. JJ has the dog in him that at some point will will us to wins if Frank or DG go cold, I'd take the college JJ over the college Wiggs any day.
@jaybate-1.0 You pose an interesting question:
Is Josh tough? Part of me feels there has been no time in the box because bill was so enamored by his grit and motor and intelligence to date that he did not think he needed it. But Now the lack of self control has reared its ugly teen-aged self and JJ may need some box time. I think Wiggs never got enough and he rolled over in March and started Escalde shopping. But bill can't break JJs spirit now cuz we need him too much with Doke gone. I predict fatherly talk and motivating the dog to come out, with extra stern encouragement to leave the winer deep in the vault.
@jaybate-1.0 @wissox How great is our site that we offer vocab enhancement? Two Kensucky trolls trying to pick up tid bits for the upcoming tilt went back to their site and reported, "I don't understand a word them Jayhawkin hicks are saying and they us-en some mighty dirty words, like infarct I ain't never heard be-fo." But wunce them jayhawkers get to old Rupp I gonna tell them to go infarct themselves. Ha that'll show um we ain't no dummies down here in these parts. "
Should have gone to a mid major to begin with. Whole thing never made a lick of sence. I will be disappointed to never get to use this line when he makes his first TO each game: Maxwell was good to till the last drop.
@drgnslayr @jaybate-1.0 Save the knee theory is good, or what about the Road theory? Coach sees its a dog fight. We have horrible start that puts us in the hole. Colby and Mitch have never experienced anything remotely like a Big 12 war, so he ices them until they can get first taste of a conference battle in the friendly confines to boost confidence and give them better chance for success. Had we started strong and been up 8-10 pts, bill may have risked playing the wild cards. Bragg and LL knew what to expect and handled the heat.
@stoptheflop JJ and the rest of us better get used to it because imagine what the calls will be like in the March Rig-a-thon?
@jaybate-1.0 If he is not going to play Colby versus TCU when JJ is in foul trouble, then I can't imagine he gets dealt any minutes against the perennial big boys of B12. What it did do is force Bragg to play like a 10, and I felt like he played solid enough to think there are jack and queen games inside him.
@HawkChamp You are right, Bragg played really well. Quality minutes and was good on boards. Still needs more muscle under the hoop. Overall very solid. And I take back everything I said about Landon early on. Colossal game for LL.
@approxinfinity No the point is guard comparison 08 to 16.
@Fightsongwriter said:
Can't leave out Rush as well. 2 NBA caliber players from 08. We have 2 or 3 now (1 lock in JJ, Svi, graham, or Vick could all wind up earning nba minutes. Heck maybe Frank too.). The comparison is critical because guards win the dance and since 08 all our Nba talent has been in the front court. This year bodes well.

@jaybate-1.0 Funny. 25 years for my wife and me 1st week of Jan. Totally get it!
@drgnslayr Following your line, perhaps when coach referred to fools gold he was really telling us what he thought of Green. He liked the 3 ball, just thought BG was an idiot! He did run him off and he is very coy.
Bottom line. Looks like old Bill has been hitting the film room hard and it is paying some major dividends. Getting JJ just as the floor opened up is also impeccable timing., no?
Does the World Wide Web even reach into Texas.? With everything bigger and better in the lone star state I thought they had their own special one. @wissox I thought you actually showed great restraint. That was a big softball lobbed up there and you had the plate discipline to take the pitch.
@BeddieKU23 I sure hope it made No 1 Not Top 10, because it was also the worst layup attempt ever. Epic fail. Nice lift and finish.
I just saw the video and am incensed. That ref needs to be suspended without pay for the rest of the season.
@ralster I'd pay big bucks to get to see Dok hip check Allen into the next region at the F4.
How on God's green earth can KANSAS win a home game in the state of MISERY???
The very definition of asinine!!
14 straight and b2b NC's. Oh, and for his stocking stuffer a top 10 stat sheet stuffer point guard.
Forgive my ignorance, is weed a narcotic? Extasy? No charges filed for drugs and maybe he was under the limit. Regardless I find it troubling this component was just glossed over. Both for his health and long-term ability to avoid trouble.
@KUSTEVE Is no one concerned about a key word used in all the reporting of this story: narcotics?
Perhaps this is why his play has been substandard?
@KUSTEVE Important clarification. He did not say "all Americans are idiots". He said, "are we (have we become ) idiots?" It was a question for discussion (as much as allowed, right?), not a statement. Now I maybe listen once a month, and it was mildly entertaining. Probably 3-4 years ago. When you look at the cesspool of media, un-reality tv, and inane political blather, his premis, as exemplified by this story of the man in blue, may be spot on. Our minds have become so open our brains have leaked out. Our phones have become so smart our brains have leached all common sense. Thank the Lord we have Ku hoops to obsess about!!
A few year ago I happened to be listening to Rush Limbaugh, and he did a segment titled: Are Americans idiots?
I believe this officially confirms his point.
@JayHawkFanToo That girl in the pic is 4'2"
@ralster How dare you name him who shall not be named? 😄
I went into convulsions when his picture flashed during the game.
The game is finally out there on YouTube, however the first 10 min is missing. So no josh behind the back layup unfortunately.
@Kcmatt7 Uh, correct, and totally irrelevant to my point.
@BeddieKU23 I was more referring to the narcotics reference in terms of getting worse. But pushing your lady down the stairs, if true, at six in the a of the m is not a good scene.
Galloway also reporting:
The offense report indicates Bragg is suspected of using alcohol and drugs or narcotics. It also lists “personal weapon” as the type of force or weapon used.
Sounding worse by the minute.
@BShark I looked on YouTube but no luck. Any chance you can post the link to umkc?
Then I promise I won't bother you with such a request until November of 2017!
@drgnslayr @jaybate-1.0 After playing for a big time program, pardon me, THE Big time program, can you imagine how hard it must be to face your last year. Then on top you have not gotten Bill to another FF or NC yet. The 13 year streak is starring you in the face. Many are expecting you to preform like T-Rob, Withy, Markief, or Sasha. The legends' ghosts are in the building, stalking you.
You've been treated like royalty, or is that deity?, you have the best of EVERYTHING, plus you are a thoughtful, good hearted dude....and in 5-6 months it will all come down to the rigged tourney. Talk about pressure. He is 21 or 22. Still a child. Big men have big loads to carry. That 17-21 year olds can preform at such a high level is truly remarkable with the crushing pressure we put on them.
Free your mind big fella, think on what is good and true, and noble. Enjoy the final leg of the journey, and wear the mantle of the Jayhawks legacy well. Give it your best, and forget the rest.
@wissox I'd buy the bucketeer ball, but only if @HighEliteMajor comes out of seclusion to sign.
@ralster AP reporting backboard repairs are ongoing at AFH after the bricks Ty unloaded on the unit. I mean was he drunk? Those shots were like when you try to look like you are bad. Not even remotely close. My son and I were laughing our tails off they were so bad.
@jaybate-1.0 Quote from my 14 year old son during the game after I tell him the Stanford coach used to play at KU....
That guy played basketball??
I know not a tru OAD but still.....
Starring.........(drum roll)........Juuuuuuliannnnn WRIGHT!
@jaybate-1.0 I saw the game at AFH tonight and seeing him in person out rebound much bigger guys brings your metric to a whole new light. On several occasion I thought, "how did he just get that board fron a 6-6 guy.?"
He is so strong and so good at positioning. He does not so much box out as he angle-bodies out. Remarkable.
@drgnslayr I watched the UNC "we turned them to Ash" game this morn and it seemed to me Luke still bobbles 90% of entry passes and possible stick backs. Dok grabs it away and dunks it. That alone has me ready to reduce his role. In the short time on the floor Colby was much more effective at protecting rim and grabbing loose balls (he like Luke struggles to finish at rim). And he is far more athletic. Sorry I'm ready to jump off the Luke wagon now that there are other options.
@JayHawkFanToo Just like the other Bryant's locations are terrible. You got to go to the hood!
@drgnslayr both Luke and Bragg seems to be really dragging....laboring to walk even. They look slow and in pain. No athletic flow to them. Bragg is younger and seems to be fighting through a tad better. Luke looks like a tired 5th year senior.
To your point on point- the othe thing that hit me after watching last game is now we've added JJ to the mix, a dude who can really pass it. The ball does not stick with him like a typical frosh. So we have 3 elite ball movers who all know how to put the leather through the iron. A delectable trifecta of assist makers. They will carry us far despite the drama.
@jaybate-1.0 perhaps the cocaine tempered his effectiveness in patient care.
@Crimsonorblue22 Oh my! His arms are like 5 feet long!
@JayHawkFanToo I believe we also left LC's off the list. Hard to get to but 2nd on my list after AB's.
@BShark you are a good man BShark!
When accessing the quality of the smoking, no one comes close to Arthur's...esp the turkey and sausage). If you want yuppie BBQ then OK joes (WAY too salty) or Jack stack (great sides/over priced) will suit you fine.
Arthur's is NOT the place for burnt ends. But no one beats the smoker at 18th and Brooklyn.
