@JayHawkFanToo not so much threes as much as long twos.

@JayHawkFanToo he allowed Perry to step out and shoot jumpers all four years - recall the Big 12 tournament against ISU? IIRC, many were advocating for him playing the three because that is what he would play in the League.

@jayballer54 yeah, UCLA lost twice in a week, UNC, FSU, and Villanova. Maybe the one seeds will have more losses than what I originally projected. We are still in the running if we finish strong.

@JayHawkFanToo If you think he has the speed, that's fine. I will wait for Bill to actually put him at that position to say he is a SF. Has Bill ever indicated he would play the 3?

@JayHawkFanToo I don't expect him too. His body is not that of a small forward and I'm not sure he has the quickness to keep up with SF's.

@wissox at West Virginia is what I meant. I know our record and it is loaded with cupcakes and only one top twenty five team - you could maybe count Iowa State and K State, but they aren't top twenty teams.

@JayHawkFanToo I guess we'll find out today. If he has "elite athleticism", then he should do just fine against Bam and Willis and the rest.

@Hawk8086 I dont care what goes on in practice. Bragg has been terrible in games - last time I checked, our record indicates the results of games, not practices. Coleby is 6'9 and has girth. Of course, you just watch Self refuse to play him. I dont think he could play worse than Carlton.

@drgnslayr except for Frank a few times this year, our guards do not look like they are experienced. They don't move their feet on defense, they make bad decisions/passes and much of the time look like they would rather be on the bus ready to go home. And its not just now that that has been happening - it has been like that since the first exhibition game against Washburn. Actually, they look like they have regressed as a group. Not sure what their mindset is.

@Hawk8086 Bragg was never a banger that could play the 5. He is soft mentally and has not decided to fight back. Even if Coleby is still a little slow I say play him. At least he tries.

@Hawk8086 typical. Embarrassing for them that they only get up for games against us and West Virginia.

@truehawk93 what else is Cal going to say? That he isnt worried? He knows if they play their game and get out in transition, they will win no matter what Self conjures up.

@Crimsonorblue22 and no, I don't want mostly OADs, but I would like two or three per season along with a capable supporting cast that plays fundamental basketball, doesn't turn the ball over and wont get outhustled.

@HighEliteMajor but how many of those are road games? He isn't getting a W today. Our guys just don't have the mindset/attitude or understanding of the game to pull this off.

@Crimsonorblue22 he will improve but he does not have a high ceiling. You can have lower rated guys (but still in the top 100-150) that are athletic, have a long wingspan and good bball IQ. Lightfoot does hustle and probably has a good bball IQ, but he is not that athletic or long. People complain about us not having size -well, you aren't getting that with Mitch. I just dont believe that this is the best we can do recruiting wise. What about Tyler Davis? What about Kavier Shepherd? Those guys have legit size and skill.

@BShark not a classy thing to say at all, but it is baffling why Self has recruited bigs the way he has. Even a senior Lightfoot is not someone you want going against legit and athletic bigs.

@kraken It'd be nice, but we all know how poor our guys are at getting back in transition.

@ralster on paper, yes. But the season has shown our guys as a team and individuals as a whole have not improved since last year. Our guards must be in dream land if they think their level of play is good enough.

@DCHawker I disagree - we aren't at a physical disadvantage and we can be a good defensive team. Same thing with rebounding. Our guys just don't seem to have the toughness necessary

@kjayhawks I think the onus is on the coaching staff for not landing legit bigs. Dok is, but he is the only one the last several years with actual pro potential. Don't know why they didn't go after Tyler Davis or other guys with actual size and the post man attitude. For the most part, they have done a poor, poor job and everyone sees the results. You would think the university of Kansas could get someone that can fill that role and play tough.

@Jayrawks1 for this team, it doesn't matter. They are a soft team- very little toughness.

It seems as though we look bad when opposing guards are tough as nails and pressure the ball. Villanova, now West Virginia, and same result. Our guards do not match the intensity/toughness of the other teams guards. Lucas and Bragg may not help at times, but they don't ever cost us games. Our guards weren't good against Nova and we lost. Same thing tonight.

Well, saw Villanova lost also. It happens, I guess

@truehawk93 seems like they got outhustled - not surprising. Selfs teams normally have road games where they get outhustled. Just don't like seeing it

I would love to beat uk, but this team isnt tough enough to win on their floor. If they don't lose anymore games after this week, I think a One seed is possible.
