I'll say it again, why on earth the big guys can't figure out blocking out I'll never know. Indiana shot superbly tonight - we didn't play bad defense, as most of their threes were contested. Lucas and Carlton HAVE to figure this out. Blocking out is a skill taught in middle school yet a lot of guys don't do it. Post defense wasn't good either. Probably going to be 0-2 to start the year.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 05:22 AM

What a gutsy comeback by our guys!!!

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 05:19 AM

Smart move by frank. Don't foul on this possession!!

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 05:18 AM

I say go for the two and get a chance in ot

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 05:16 AM

@DanR I don't like being in that position at all

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 05:11 AM

No way!!!!

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 05:09 AM

Embarrassing that our big guys refuse to put their rears on their man and push them back to the concession stand. The coaching staff has to help them with this fundamental strategy that cost us an important win.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 05:07 AM

Done. Bad foul. Rebounds really hurt. Really hurt ourselves and kept shooting our ourselves in the foot

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 04:58 AM

So many missed opportunities. I think they're done. Too many jump shots that aren't going in and they refuse to block out on shots.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 04:45 AM

Need some stops. D HAS to step up or this is a loss.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 04:30 AM

Guys are just in bad positions for rebounding and not getting their body on somebody and pushing them out to the parking lot. Standing around won't get you rebounds

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 04:20 AM

@BeddieKU23 agreed - he is faster than all of them

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 04:19 AM

Way too much overhelping. A three is worth more than a two.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 04:07 AM

JJ looked a step slow on D. Needs to get tougher. This is good for him though

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 04:03 AM

@BShark you're right - except for that one guy from Kentucky that reminds me of Julius Randle.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:59 AM

@BShark he is a tough matchup for anybody. They won't have to face anyone like him all year.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:55 AM

@chriz I wouldn't say suck, they just need to body up Bryant on the glass

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:54 AM

Rebounding not terrible, but too many brain farts defensively. Should be up 10. Bryant and Anunoby are good practice for our big guys against Duke

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:44 AM

Bragg having the type of game I was hoping for. Had a nice hook shot also

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:42 AM

@approxinfinity same here!

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:42 AM

11-0 run in one minute. Smart decisions, Brag, UA and Svi rebounding and mason driving. I like it

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:40 AM

Great sequence there

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:38 AM

Really need to put bodies on their guys. Not rocket science

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:36 AM

Got to start making threes and guard the perimeter

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:34 AM

Can't over help and give up threes

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:30 AM

@DoubleDD need to spread the floor, drive and kick, and look inside

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:29 AM

@kjayhawks Svi I think is playing better D

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:28 AM

Silly errors keep costing us points. Had a chance to put them away but too many tipped passes, missed rebounds, etc.

KU-IU chat here • Nov 12, 2016 03:14 AM

Lucas or Bragg should've had that. Need to tighten up perimeter D and we will be in good shape.

IU game predictions • Nov 12, 2016 12:17 AM

Even with Trier, Arizona is not a top ten team this year. MSU has the talent to make the final four.

IU game predictions • Nov 11, 2016 11:52 PM

A little off topic, but I'm watching Nova right now playing Lafayette. I know they are not playing a good opponent, but Nova looks like the same team that got hot in the tourney last year. Their defense is really good. IMO, they should be the front runner for making the final weekend, not Duke.

Marcus Garrett Signed • Nov 10, 2016 11:40 PM

@KUSTEVE add him to Vick, Malik and Dok and that is a very solid lineup

Lucas wearing a boot • Nov 10, 2016 11:39 PM

@BeddieKU23 sure hope Landon is ok and Bill is not forcing him to play....

Just curious what happened? • Nov 10, 2016 11:19 PM

@BShark well, on a positive note, at least he's not going to UK or Duke. Alabama probably won't be much of a threat nationally next year.

Lucas wearing a boot • Nov 10, 2016 11:08 PM

@JayHawkFanToo which three? I haven't seen anyone wearing them in the pictures other than Landon

Lucas wearing a boot • Nov 10, 2016 10:41 PM

I still don't understand why you would have Lucas play in spite of the injury. Give him some time off to get better, like a month, so he can be fine by March. Our chances of going to the final four take a serious blow without him. Maybe its just me thinking this way.

Lucas wearing a boot • Nov 10, 2016 06:38 PM

@JayHawkFanToo thanks for the article. Yes, if there was a chance of a more serious injury, I hope they would have the sense to sit Lucas and not "play through it". The end of the season is way more important than a couple November games. But since he was a full participant, he is probably in decent shape and will play tomorrow.

Lucas wearing a boot • Nov 10, 2016 06:30 PM

@jaybate-1.0 not so sure Bragg has an injury also. No evidence of that so far

Lucas wearing a boot • Nov 10, 2016 03:50 PM

I don't think he should play and risk it becoming worse. The season is a marathon, and we need him for March.

@Kcmatt7 yet other teams have had smaller lineups and succeeded (Villanova, UConn, Butler and Oklahoma come to mind). Height and personnel wise, we are at no disadvantage this year. No excuses for not getting the job done.

4-1: End game or Means to End? • Nov 08, 2016 06:32 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 he needs a few positive plays to get him going. Coach needs to run a few plays for him to get him going. The exhibition games were rough for him, and having a few shots go in would probably help.

Who Stops Indiana's Anunoby? • Nov 08, 2016 01:46 PM

@KUSTEVE it will remain to be seen how well they do without yogi ferrell. He was extremely important for them last year

Who Stops Indiana's Anunoby? • Nov 07, 2016 10:07 PM

@stoptheflop I remember anunoby - very solid player. Unless Svi starts, it will be Josh. He's going to have to toughen up and play smart.

@KUSTEVE this team, I think, is the type that has a lot of room for growth and will improve a lot during the year.

Good point about ball movement - to think we haven't been running offense these past two games.

I hope coach runs a couple plays for Carlton to get him going on Friday - pick and roll type stuff. Bill doesn't sound too worried about him - he is better than what he has shown and just needs a few positive plays to get back in a groove.

Get your chat on ESU • Nov 07, 2016 05:57 AM

@approxinfinity yeah, he was green last year and had freshman moments, but this is nothing like last year. He also has not been put in a position to score. How many times has he had the ball on the block for a b2b move? Or how many times has he been in a pick and pop situation? I don't remember one so far.

Coach said he is a good player and in a funk. Prediction - he is going to snap out of it pretty soon. Hopefully on Friday.

Get your chat on ESU • Nov 07, 2016 02:12 AM

Thanks guys. How's the rebounding?

Get your chat on ESU • Nov 07, 2016 02:09 AM

Ok guys, I am at a rehearsal. How do we look?

EMPORIA STATE HORNETS • Nov 05, 2016 11:45 PM

@kjayhawks and I don't think our guys could play much worse than the other night

@Texas-Hawk-10 Also important regarding the army was that it was largely composed of Visigoths fairly late during the Empire. The Roman army at the defeat of the Huns at Chalons in 451 was largely Visigoths. Alaric only sacked Rome because of the ill treatment he and his people were receiving.

Note - fellow history major

EMPORIA STATE HORNETS • Nov 04, 2016 05:54 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 I hope so - I like Holly. Bob Wisschusenn (sp?) and Fran aren't a bad combo - too bad we can't get Bilas every game.
