KU plays a 4 and 1 style. Meaning if either Duke and MSU try to man up with just big boys in the paint, it might not be such a no brainer.

Not to mention if Coach did want to mix up and go with a two big offense? I mean Doka and De Sousa? Then throw in Mitch who has shown he's a better help side big. UMM Just saying.

Also lets not forget KU is playing some really good ball right now. With De Sousa, and Newman step up. KU is going to be hard to beat. I don't care who you are.

People forget that it's a two way street regarding matchups. They might play big, but that means Jackson or Ward is going to chase Svi, Lagerald Or Marcus around the whole floor.

I say rest him on Thursday and play him Saturday. Could he be a little rusty? Maybe, but why take the rest against the 16 seed? Let him heal even more and play against either Seton Hall or NC State.

@BeddieKU23 I hope you're right.

The biggest concern is if Penn pulls a Washington and has some unique strategy to stop the 3. When that happened, there were zero adjustments made other than to keep chucking up guarded three's. Vick was hesitant in the high-post and Devonte played terribly. If Penn has no such strategy, we win by 20.

Yep. They have zero length and muscle inside to pose any difficulties against us. Silvio and Mitch should feast inside if they are smart about it.

every game will be a fight. Seton Hall is a bit better than NC State, in my opinion. They should have beat Nova a couple weeks ago but some poor play at the end cost them. If we aren't careful, we won't make it out of the first weekend.

agreed. If we play fast, run and gun and defend even decently, this is a 15-20 point win. Only a team with equal or greater athleticism can give this team problems.

One on one in the post is hard for everyone save great shotblockers. Team defense is required to defend the post.

I could see them flipping a switch like last year's team did. Of course, I wouldn't really be surprised if they didn't either. Who know's what to expect or what team will show up night to night.

KU just lost their #1 seed and possibly the Midwest Region. They were itching to give that to Xavier. Now KU gets the consolation prize to the West Coast. I hope they enjoy their long trip which will be a 2 hr difference in time zone. Way to piss that away guys.

Maybe this will be good for them. Maybe they need to be kicked hard to give some effort and be tougher. Only time will be the judge of that.

Exactly. Zero mental discipline. Turnovers and missing rebounds are indicators of 1. No discipline and 2. Mentally soft.
Still can't wait for next year to hopefully get players who meet those criteria.

It seems like this is a frequent occurrence. Last year, we had Frank to overcome Bill's kryptonite by sheer will (and Jackson too). Nobody stepping up now
