That is as true a statement as I've ever read. No one ever hears about the version of the losers. No one remembers who was second place they remember who was first. No one remembers who was behind us in the current streak of titles only that we have one 10 consecutive. This is the version that everyone knows. Very true words indeed. Well said!

@JayHawkFanToo I watched both of those games last night. The KSU game was a slop fest from start to finish, all of the turnovers and fouls almost made it unwatchable. I think we should press KSU on Saturday they can easily be forced into some mistakes. I agree with your assessment that the losers of the OU-OSU and Texas-Baylor games are done title wise. If we keep playing with the same confidence we've been playing with I see no reason why we won't be sitting at 8-1 and thus putting some distance between us and the field. We have to take care of business tonight we cant afford to look past TCU, they are a decent squad with a good coach and should have knocked off WVU. That foul call was questionable but before that they let WVU get off and unguarded 3 that was drilled. They will either be very hungry after a loss like that or come out deflated because they let one get away, either way we need to be on our toes.

My apologies, I forgot that they beat OU in OT. Baylor and OSU have both been up and down they almost lost to Baylor. I guess I was focusing more on their struggles with bottom feeders, they barely beat TCU and TTU. Thank you for bringing those to my attention, you are right they have beaten some quality teams I was thinking more along the lines of us, ISU, and WVU the more consistent teams in the league so far. Post like yours are why I like this site better than the old one, disagreement can take place without confrontation.

@jayballer54 If anyone leaves via transfer I would think it's Hunter. He is due to graduate in May and could therefore transfer without sitting a year. It wouldn't make much sense for Landen to transfer unless it's to a D-2 school because he's already sued his redshirt year. assuming Brannen stays on his recent track there is no way he transfers, he is finally getting PT because he has bought in on the defensive end.

I was fortunate to be at this game in person as well and like @jayhawkrock78 it was great to see them be able to put two halves together. I loved being at a road game and hearing "Let's Go Jayhawks" throughout the entire game. It was really loud at points and you have to know that the Texas players could hear it, they were getting out voiced in their own ugly house. The long drive to Austin and back to KC was well worth seeing the type of game these guys put together. I was talking to my buddy right after the game and I said we flat out wanted this game more and that BamBam's hustle changed the complexion of the game .How good can we be? We can be great, if the team that showed up in Austin shows up every game from here on out we have a chance to cut down quite a few nets. I'm not saying we will go undefeated but we have a damn sight better of a shot than we did even two weeks ago to cut down nets in early April.

@JayHawkFanToo I wasn't scared of the purple kitties before the conference season has started and even though they haven't beaten any top tier teams I do share some of your worry when we play against them. My fear is that we may look past them at ISU because they are in my eyes a bigger rival right now and definitely a bigger thorn in our side.

@brooksmd I went and saw the movie last week and I thought it was very well done. Gotta love Howard Dean right?

@Crimsonorblue22 Ha I'm recovered now I was supposed to work yesterday at 0700 but I was too dang tired from the drive. I drove both ways a little over 700 miles each way. It was well worth it though and most definitely you are welcome to ride down with me next year! I didn't get to meet up with anyone before the game, we got to the hotel around 0400 and didn't wake up til around 1030 and we ate breakfast and barely made it to the game before tip. I wanted to go to the TCA game too but can't since it's in the middle of the week. I'm going to try and make it to a couple more games this year at the Fieldhouse this year. I'll be there when we play WVU for sure since it's on my birthday, and someone always buys me tickets :)

@Crimsonorblue22 I definitely did some partying for you guys. I ended up drinking with Gregor Clegane of The Game of Thrones Fame. The game was absolutely unreal. the section we sat in was mostly Jayhawks as were a few other sections throughout the game we all chanted lets go Jayhawks and it was loud!! We definitely travel well. The slow chant is the most hauntingly beautiful thing especially in an opponents house!

@Crimsonorblue22 it was unreal there!!! You could clearly here Jayhawk chants the entire game . We are gonna party tonight and drive back tomorrow

I'm headed over to Shulz Garten if any other board rats will be there I'll be wearing a blue KU shirt and red hat and I'm black if that helps lol

@RockChalkinTexas We actually haven't bought them yet, unless it's a really big game I usually wait til game day because they normally go down in peoples last min rush to ditch them. Where are you sitting at?

@jayballer54 I think Perry needs to take Ridley outside he's not aggressive enough to bang down low with him. KO needs to be his usual driving and slashing self and get tot he line and most importantly hit those shots. We have a solid chance of going 4-0. I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell we let ISU beat us in the Fieldhouse, we will be too fired up for that game.

@RockChalkinTexas good thing I walk my dogs 3 miles every night! Walking may not actually be a half bad idea if it's only 2.6 if the outcome is what we all want it to be I'll be celebrating at the bars and no reason to get behind a wheel of a car unnecessarily. I could not be lazy and do my own research but since you're in Texas any ideas what cab fares are like there?

@drgnslayr It would be huge for us to take both games! I really hope they do well tomorrow otherwise I'm going to have a long irritable drive back home. I think our guys will be turned up for the game tomorrow , they gotta be on top of the world after meeting the president yesterday, and I think they will show up and take care of business.

@VailHawk Can you imagine how lethal we would have been last year if we had the desire that we do this year? Even with JoJo injured if Wiggs wasn't protecting the brand and the rest of the team flat out had desire we'd have been damn scary last year.

@RockChalkinTexas Thanks for the heads up! I hate traffic, there's a reason my mother hates riding in the car with me! I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency Austin right on the river it's not too far from the arena, so maybe we will just hoof it or catch a cab.

@Kubie I wonder why that is with Cable One. I don't even have cable I have internet only but I use my parents Comcast login to watch the ESPN networks and I live in the KC Metro area for me and the blackout games will play on my laptop using Zen Mate when I cant watch them through my Xbox One.

@JayHawkFanToo Wow! that's a bit insane, all for a sign because some overzealous Slaver had his panties in a bunch? How was he cleared of all wrong doing when they even have an MU fan as a witness and said the kids did nothing wrong? Thanks for the heads up, I really appreciate it and @crimsonorblue22 I will make sure I tread lightly. maybe I'll wear a jacket so I can cover it up if I need to or just not wear it at all.

@brooksmd @konkeydong The one I use is called Zen Mate. you can download it from the Google chrome extension list and it's built into the browser. Be forewarned sometimes you will get Google in different languages since Google is based on where it thinks your IP is.

@DoubleDD You and me both and the rest of the Jayhawk faithful. I have a feeling it's coming and when it finally does click for him consistently the same way it clicked in the second half of the Florida game we will be unstoppable in the Big 12 and against most of the teams in the tourney. We have to use KO's term "savages" on this team and when they play like it consistently the rest of the field better watch out. We have the talent, we have the ability to win close games, we need to develop that "will kill" mentality and I think Wayne has it and he just needs to find a way to get his groove back.

I'm definitely pumped for this game. A buddy and I are making the drive from KC down to Austin for the game. Any of the other board rats making the trip or does anyone live down there?

@DoubleDD It seems like Wayne constantly gets mugged and doesn't get calls which may be leading to his lack of confidence at the rim and finishing.

@jaybate-1.0 I totally agree about the Ft's limiting his game and potential. I screamed when he and Perry missed FTs late in the game. He gets tot he line to often to miss as many as he does. He's an effective slasher and goes hard to the basket and needs to make other teams pay for putting him on the line. Otherwise they will just employ the hack-a-Oubre strategy, especially in close games.

@Crimsonorblue22 This will never happen!! If she ever bought me one I'd burn it right in front of her! (She is a good sport and wears KU clothing that I buy her) I'm going to the UK-MU game in Columbia next week and I fully plan on wearing my Muck Fizzou shirt.

@konkeyDong I actually just use an extension that I downloaded into google Chrome, Cant remember the name of it, but i'll post it up once I get of work and have a look at my computer. Doesn't matter much now for this season since the rest of the games will be on ESPN but for the Royals fans on here it will help with skirting the blackout on the mlb at bat app

@dylans You can watch the games on your computer from ESPN3 if you live inside the KC Metro area and don't have TWC. You just have to use a program that makes your IP address look like its coming from a different city :)

@wissoxfan83 i'm so tired of seeing dunks clang off the rim, I feel like Selden is especially egregious in this area. It seems like every other game he gets hung on the rim.

@joeloveshawks I think we may lose tomorrow if we lack aggressiveness and I see us losing @ WVU. I think we stomp a mud hole in the Kitties and lose @ Texas. and possibly OSU though I see that as being less likely than @ UT .

@drgnslayr We saw that he can go off and have an EJ type game for at least 15 minutes in the second half of the Florida game. If we could bring that intensity for 30-35 mins tomorrow. There is no one on ISU that could stop him. He look damn near unguardable and willed us back into that game along with 16.3k faithful at AFH. He has all the talent in the world and has some aggression but he needs to get all the way turned up. Maybe he could benefit from a punch in the mouth too.

@drgnslayr I don't know if you watch the show Grimm but they had an episode centered around a boxer who was reluctant to fight so his promoter hired guys to come beat him down before he fought so that way he would be ready to go and then he'd go out to the ring and just pummel his opponent. Perry needs to have that fire lit and then (pardon my french) make the rim his B****H .

@JayHawkFanToo I hear you, I wish we would have had a pre-season opportunity like they did this year instead of next year. I also wish the champions Classic was later in the non-con after we were a little more polished. I don't know that we would have won but I'd be willing to bet it wouldn't have been a blowout like that.

I completely agree, I've rewatched that game multiple times just to see his performance and as @bskeet said it was something Bill said to him. Bill called him out on his manhood and he responded with a blaze of fire that we never saw before. If he can get in Perry's head like that tomorrow than I feel sorry for anyone in his way. I've been very critical of Perry because he's soft and doesn't know how to finish but when he plays angry he's a monster. Withey was the same way, he had to play angry to be a monster. Someone needs to punch Perry in the face before the game.

Wow that just seems like an insane amount of money to have other schools come play there and did Cal really need a suite that cost 1550 per night? But I guess if you got it flaunt it right? I wonder if Drake was one of the boosters that helped pay that. Must be nice to have that kind of cash flow, it does look like it paid dividends for them.

@JayhawkRock78 That's true but I just meant as far as during the season, there is no one that can even remotely challenge him in the JV circuit.

@drgnslayr Well lets hope if he's channeling his inner EJ he puts forth an effort like EJ did a couple years ago, though that's hard to do because that was one of the best performances by a Jayhawk I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

@wrwlumpy I'm loving these collages that you're putting together! Well done, I'm so amped for this game on Saturday if we can pull this game out it will go a long way in securing #11 for us. The games the last few years with them have been pretty testy, I hope it doesn't turn into a game like Tuesday that takes forever because of all the fouls. It would be awesome if KO, Svi, and Greene could all go off in this game. We need to spread it out and beat them at their own game. We have the horses to do it, but will they get out of the gate?

@drgnslayr This more than any game we've played so far in conference play will really test our defensive numbers. We haven't allowed anyone to score more than 60 points on us so far, and I think if we can even hold ISU under 70 we will be in good shape. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think this team can score consistently enough to win a high score 90+ point shootout.

@RedRooster HA I thought you were referring to Zimmeran as being 6' 10" I guess that's what happens when I talk about multiple people in the same post. Thanks for the article link, Meige actually isn't too far from where I live. I watched a video clip last week of him and it's unreal how tall that kid is for being 14 and you're right it's totally unfair to him and to the people he plays against. How is he supposed to get better when no matter what night he's going to be the tallest player on the court and doesn't really have to work to score over anybody or anyone that can matchup with him physically?

@RedRooster is he listed at different heights on different websites? ESPN has him listed at 7' 0". That's what I was basing it on, but who really knows it always seems like people gain an inch or two.

@jaybate-1.0 I really hope we get Zimmerman, that would be a great get as far as length goes. Speaking of long men have you seen Manute Bol's kid? He plays for Bishop Meige Bol Bol is his name, he plays for the JV squad because of a transfer so he is head and shoulders above everyone else on the team.

@RedRooster it's crazy that a team can ranked with another ranked team in town can get that low of attendance numbers. Makes me appreciate being a Jayhawk fan even more. Hell we even pack the house for exhibition games.

@ZIG I see it the way you do. I hope we get out of Ames with the W but if we don't it won't be as big of a deal, I was intensely watching that game last night and when ISU came back not once but twice and it was close there late, I thought for sure Baylor was going to blow it. They had a chance to bury them early and let them back in it. We need to punch them in the mouth early and put our feet on their collective throats. I'm going to try to get up there for the game if I can get cheap enough tickets.
