@Jayblaze no malice intended
@Texas-Hawk-10 it's a conspiracy
Gonna say, Miles Jr. Is a stud tho
@benshawks08 Indeed. I do spend quite a bit of time in this here echo chamber!
Ya know...here's another thing, not a measurable COY metric but worth a lot: he seems to be a pretty kind, level-headed guy. Sure fans of other blue bloods or rivals find plenty of reasons to hate him, but as far as I can tell he doesn't generate nearly the level of abject disdain folks like Coach K and Cal and Pitino seem to inspire.
@cragarhawk Agreed, but it's a very short list of GOAT candidates, maybe just BS and JW, at least it looks that way to me.
Just askin': why did self sit Jalen just as he might a been getting started?
Wilson for 12 more + bench for 10 more + 8-10 minutes of superD™ = Jayhawks win by 12
@cragarhawk I half expect us to come out in total lockdown mode at the start of the half - passing lane and switch adjustments like against Baylor - and blow this thing open.
Fun fact: we shot 100% from the line in the first half.
Kev playing with real joy
Guess it's gonna be on of those games
....lopsided officiating
I worry that cold shooting is our kryptonite (though we've won plenty of games this season despite significant stretches of minutes with a lid on the bucket, and even though we're a hell of a shooting team). It's just that cold shooting at the wrong time deflates us - drains our Mojo, as @drgnslayr might say it - and brings out this team's first-half-Baylor energy, the Dr. Jekyll to our 2nd-half-Baylor Mr. Hyde. Also...the right combination of foul probz has done/could do something similar - Juan and Jalen on the bench for long.
But maybe this is all just sayin' bad luck is our kryptonite.
Just to run with the Mojo Hypothesis, Beddie's data generally supports what we might expect if Mojo exists: it's easier to bring and sustain it at home. And the particular quality of Mojo at Allen - let's call it PhogMojo - apparently surges if the team is down a few at half (rather than down a bunch, say), anyway this is how I'd explain the 100 percent correlation between 1-9 point halftime deficits and wins. Of course there are many other factors that influence it (adjustments, inspirational speeches, etc.) so we'd have to do a game-by-game assessment of whether/how much we can see Mojoshifts in those games. I just bet, though, that we'd find palpable shifts most of the time between both the crowd and team state of mind. So, I wonder if Mojo might be an essential quality or capacity in home court advantage - might explain, that is, the intangible but ultimately measurable tilt in the playingfield.
OH man, it'd be fun to hate Kentucky with Beard at the helm.
Glad to hear ya'll are feeling optimistic - definitely plenty to be excited about. The injuries have me spooked, though, gotta say.
Man...imagine the high school recruiting landscape with Duke, UNC, and Kentucky all questionable choices for prospective talents. Could be a bonanza for KU - possibly for years to come.
Looks like Self's invented some ways to get Gradey open, even against elite D.
@approxinfinity definitely. But we are peaking at about the right time.
That is how you play basketball.
I'm glad Wilson is on our team. Just sayin'
F**k
Wow
Can't guard down low caus they whistle if we breathe
How about Zuby? Totally hanging with. We are soooo good.
@BeddieKU23 on all fairness they shoulda stopped the game and given him a few minutes to limber up.
Kev is everywhere!
BS!
No need to force it JWill
Lol
@Jethro I award you a gold star for "Zuby snack"
Kev = MVP
BOOM!
Kev is a MAN!
Heads up play by gradey
Cowpokes looking a bit rattled
@RockChalkinTexas I'm just a slow typer. Life comes at me fast
Hahahahah sad crowd.
What a beautiful press-break. Textbook.
@kjayhawks what's the latest on Z? Is he healthy?
Thompson thinks he's invincible!
What time-o-clock can we put JW back in?
Yes(ufu)!
Love that pass
Grady
Prediction: Self revs the engine on the new Udeh-powered machine we saw out for a spin on Saturday. Hawks by 14.
Dick! (When did he get here?)
Udeh defense is all we need from him at the moment. That said...let's get him some lobs and dunks. Fire up his O.
Dare I say Yesufu had an off-the-bench-spark type presence last night?
Saw Houston pull off a win in the last four minutes against the Shockers last night. The Roundhouse wasn't full (kinda disappointing), but it was certainly rocking! The Haystacks weren't too shabby, either, leading nearly the entire game, largely due to occasional moments of excellence on D, by my lights. But hell, it was hard for me to tell what was going on without Fran explaining it to me.
