He's the clincher. Practically every close game, he either makes a huge shot, or makes a great defensive play to clinch the game. He's way more clutch than others we have on this team, imo.

I learned my lesson with Embiid. Braun was another superfan of the program I just knew would come back. My batting avg not too good on these. It wouldn't be unheard of for Gradey to come back, but passing on a lottery selection would be too tall an order, me thinks. I would like to pleasantly surprised if he did, but I seriously doubt he does return.
@stoptheflop With Houston, at least there is a track record of success the last 3 tournament years- 1 S16, 1 EE, and 1 FF. I agree 100% that our schedule is on another world compared to Houston. But there are many power 5 teams that are ranked that are playing cupcake schedules as well. Virginia - played 2 ranked teams since December. UCLA- played 2 teams currently ranked all year, and only 1 since Jan 1st. Purdue has played 3 teams currently ranked.
Truth is, nobody can stand up to a B12 team's schedule. I'm coming around to the idea that college basketball is inherently inequitable, but our saving grace is the fact we come out of the B12 as a lean, mean fightin' machine. Our backs were against the wall, and we peeled off 5 straight wins in the toughest conference in college bb. Our ridiculously hard schedule certainly helped last year. To validate the #1 SOS, let's go win another title.

It feels like this team is SOOO close to clicking 100%. Kevin is finally back to being the gritty ball player we know he is. Gradey's shot is back. DaJuan has found a nice balance of scoring and passing. KJ continues to just be Mr. Consistent. Udeh has found a way to contribute. The bench guards have all been playable.
If we can get the good JWill back for the tourney we are a legit contender.
He's pressing. Opinion: he wants it so bad, he is playing a step sped up. Slow down, let the game come to you, and you'll be fine, JW. I'm calling it - 30 against WVU.

I read that Alabama has a grand jury system, so a grand jury could indict Miller if the prosecutor doesn't press charges. So, it might not be over yet. The big question is why Oates and the Alabama AD allowed Miller to continue playing in light of the circumstances.

KUSports website has an upgrade... do you like or dislike it? Why? I noticed they continually downgrade stored data. I tried to go back and pull individual game stat sheets. Couldn't find them.
*I advise we keep a stat section on our site so we can go to it as needed.
As we zoom in to the end of another great season... it is time for all of us to post our tweaks. What should our team, coach, and individual players do to help tweak us to becoming a more formidable team in March. Keep this post around from here on out and keep adding ideas.
Juan - Just do your thing but STAY AGGRESSIVE! You don't have to score a ton of points, but you do need to charge the paint many times a game! You are always free to throw the ball out for someone open on the trey line. Keep hustling on D and when playing away from the ball, stay more in the passing lanes unless you are playing ball denial.
Gradey - Just keep doing what you are doing. Sometimes you force a few shots but usually it is when we aren't running good offense so of anyone to force shots, you give us the best chance. Following your shot, tipping out rebounds, making easy separation moves with the ball... what planet are you from? Freshmen don't do that! You may change my mind believing you should go NBA this year, but why not experience college ball for one more year? You'll never have this opportunity again!
Kevin - Maybe it's about his sprained ankle... but he continually got manhandled under the basket in the TCU game. I know he was outweighed.... so he needs to bend his knees and lower his center of gravity. Definitely needs to work on his FTs.
JWil - Sometimes forces bad shots. It's better he forces moves but if the shot isn't there, feed it to someone else for an assist. He should work it out with other players for them to make aggressive cuts while he has the ball so he can score more assists. Practice FTs because he'll be shooting a bunch in March!
KJ - I could easily tell you to focus more in games and not make bad fouls and bad passes... this needs to be stated. But what could be worse if you focus too hard on this and lose your ability to play quick because you are overthinking. Stay loose and stay positive... you are outperforming your expectations already! Practice FTs.
Joe - Some games you are on, some off... just stay aggressive and try to figure out why your game fluctuates. Is it based on starting with a made basket or two? You'll always get minutes if you play sticky defense. Remember that.
Bobby - Stay focused on your strengths and let the game come to you... that means plenty of drive-and-feeds! Do what you can to play at a fast pace while slowing the game down in your head.
Ernest - Just keep bringing big energy to the game and those fast hands! You are already making a big positive impact on games. Don't focus on fouling except not making the really wrong fouls. Your size, aggression, and lack of experience mean you will keep getting into foul trouble. So what! We aren't counting on you for 30+ minutes a game. Stay aggressive! Please, please, practice your FTs! You will be going to the line often!

So, my tweets to Fran worked. He sounded like a new man. He actually complimented us on both the KU and KSU/Baylor games on numerous occasions.

I read that he tied a record for consecutive shots. Don't recall if it was a B12 or national record.

If Miller was truly involved in a shooting death as detailed, that's more than a suspension. way more. No way i'd want that guy representing my university.
The car was reportedly used to block in the murder victim. I am at a loss why this fact isn't being discussed more. I mean bringing a loaded gun to a party district at 1am is really sketchy, and maybe they can explain that one away somehow. But to use your car to block in a car to make sure they couldn't leave that results in a murder seems to me to be very hard to explain.

Thanks, saw the request and figured this was in my wheelhouse. While it took a lot of time to get the last 5 years it was actually kind of cool reliving the games and these stats are so crazy. Some of them were hard to believe
One of the best ones was when we erased a double digit 2nd half lead on the road to WVU and ended up winning easily. That game sticks out to me.

CJ Moore's article in The Athletic quoted Self as saying they didn't start the game they way they played in the second half, because he didn't think they would have the energy to do it thee whole game. Thought that was interesting.
Two players on bad wheels. Self was so confident we'd win, he chose to let them rest a bit first half. Not sure we can afford to do that with TCU.
