We are the B12. Except for one crazy year that Baylor had, it's always been us. I was pulling for K-State until I realized that sexy 0-7 record in their last 7 EE games . Then I realized, I should be pulling for 0-8. I'm going to have to put that fact on the repeat button- they're going to be hearing about that quite a lot, I predict. B12 pride...yeah, yeah, yeah. Go team. But do I really care? Do I want those egg sucking dogs from Austin winning anything? Hell no. Let those traitors get run out of town.
K-State's day of relevance is over. Their 0-8 record in their last 8 EE games remains unblemished. No Final Fours since 1964. Lost to KU a national record 200+ times. Show me a good K-State loser, and I'll show you someone whose had a lot of practice at it.

Dutcher is a solid coach. Not great on offense- he doesn't have very good ball handlers or distributors, but they do lock you down on defense. Surprised someone hasn't snatched Dutcher up.

I enjoy watching SD State. Nothing but respect for that program. Bad offense, but love their defense. I wouldn't be opposed to them joining the B12.

Spencer isn't the ideal Jalen replacement, his value would be more or less replacing the shooting of Gradey. He can really shoot, spot up and off the dribble in rhythm. He could definitely be your #3, 4th kind of option, ideally
He' made the Pac 12 all defensive team a few times. Defense was never Jalen's strong suit, so we could be better at the 4 next year on that end. He's not the driver JW was, for sure.

Going into the game, we had the lowest point spread of any #1 seed ( -3.5) versus an #8/9 seed since 1996. They were underseeded due to stacking up losses due to injury, and we were overseeded due to our amazing coach's ability to maximize his team. We lost 5 out of our top 7 scorers off a national championship team. The bracket was set up to ensure we lost, from playing the best #16 seed, to the best 8 seed, to the best #4 seed ( UCONN). We played without our coach, which was probably worth 6 to 8 points. I also think if DeJuan doesn't wrench his ankle, we win. This might be the least painful loss in the tournament I can ever remember. And our coach will take the necessary steps to get back to much better health. We'll get after it again next year. We won't have a grind out schedule like this year, which will help us overall. Still a great year, another conference championship, and some truly outstanding individual performances.
Well, that sucked. Great season once again. Lots of things worked against in this game. Still, once again a great season by a great team, and a great coach. Shout out to Norm for filling in so admirably. The most important thing is Bill's health. We'll be back next year!
