@nuleafjhawk To me, it would be easier to teach Big Dave what to do than it is trying to teach a young team a brand new offensive system ( 4 out ) that plays to their weaknesses instead of their strengths.
I disagree, Coach. Dave is 6' 10" 265 lbs. The heck with Silvio....FREE DAVE. Marcus Garrett guarding Osteoporosis was a joke. Our rebounding was a joke. The 4 out with no shooters was...well, I don't want to belabor the point. How about we go with a Big Dave/Dedric/Ochai/Dotson/ and either Marcus, Vick, or Q? My preference would be Marcus, because at least I know he'll try, even if he can't shoot. As much as I love Coach, I don't see why we didn't just have Dave simply fill in for Doke. This playing completely different has thrown the whole team off.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Other than rebounding, passing, and shooting, we're pretty good.
@CaliJay He got bludgeoned by a few on here, and left.
I'm going to go watch something more interesting...like watching paint dry or something...
@Texas-Hawk-10 Os seems like he's a foot taller than Garrett...
@approxinfinity Sounds like a Tucky infomercial. "You know in the Tucky game"...blah, blah, blah. We have no clue who is in the game because they're too busy talking about Saturday's game.
Bilas can kiss my ass...
@tundrahok We should be down by 30.
Something is going on here. I don't think they're very happy campers. probably one of the worst efforts I've seen in years. Reminds me of when we started Chieck over Landen at OSU, and the team just laid down and quit.
@Kcmatt7 I'm trying to stay positive...but WOW...
Ok, why is dedric on the bench?
what the hell are we doing?
@BShark we seem to be going backwards...
@kjayhawks C'mon, man. Please don't make this political.
@dylans I found out 5 weeks ago that a co-worker, a good friend for over 10 years, was given less than 6 months to live. She has a massive brain tumor. I hope that somehow...some way... that she has a chance at this .
Wow. If this is true, it could be a game changer...

@Kcmatt7 Hubba..hubba... that would be incredible, and McBride and Braun will help the outside shooting.
@Kcmatt7 We should have most of the team back.
@justanotherfan Garrett reminded me Saturday of Tyshawn going to the rim against Tucky, and Frank going to the rim against Tucky. Not sure why we keep sending our guards to the rim against them. Most of the time, they have 3 guys standing right at the rim, waiting to knock the shot away.
@jayballer73 FREE SILVIO...
Ok, I'll say it once...you can't run a 4 out without shooters. The dribble drive is too easy to cut off. We are NOT helping our shooters get good looks. There is no "team" offense when the only play is get it to Dedric, and make him take on as many as 3 defenders at once. Towards the end, we started setting some screens on the perimeter, and lo and behold, we start making 3s. The ball never moved on offense, and when we did pass the ball around, we kept throwing poor passes that gave Tucky time to recover. We have to either start setting screens on the perimeter ( like Dook used to do ), or we're in for a long rest of the season.
@HighEliteMajor The fake fan predicts Bill will be fired. Whudda thunk it?
@Kcmatt7 He has no choice. I don't think he'll have a choice next year, either. The 4 out is here to stay.
did mccormack pee in the pool?
Ochai looks completely comfortable. Amazing.
Ochai has been sitting over there on the bench all season saying..."wth...i'm better than that"....
Agbaji!
I'd like the dunks and layups, please. Supersize that as well.
@Kcmatt7 Ochai ... he made back to back 3s in the 2nd exhibition game. I thought he looked like our most poised freshman out there in the exhibition games. He comes from a very athletic family, and you can feel the confidence ooze from every pore. I like that. The fact they're looking into other options other than Charlie and KJ is a positive. I don't know if this turns out to be 4 minutes a game, 14, or 20, but I'm ready to see a new face out there. it's not like he could do worse than Charlie.
Oh my goodness. The gnashing of teeth ...the wails from the dungeon. We're going to have to play our McDonald's All American freshman center ....ohhh, the horror!
So, let me get this straight.... the Texans get pummelled... my Jayhawks get smashed...the Rockets get drilled... and Doke is out for the year. Did I miss anything? I can't wait to get back to work.
@jayballer73 We still have to play the season out. I'm telling you that because you're disgusted, and it doesn't look like there would be any way to fix this hot mess. We've been here before, though. if we still look this bad in March, then we might have to stick a fork in us. but, it's not like we haven't been through this before. Remember when we went up to an unranked Temple team a few years back, and got beat by 25? How about those WVU beatdowns a few years back? Last year, we lost some games that were pure head scratchers. That loss by 15 to OSU was abysmal. Thank God for Devonte. This year, we need one or two players to stand up and start leading when the chips are down. Somebody on the team is hopefully really pissed about yesterday. Pissed enough to go off, and get these dudes to focus in, and start competing. I think it's going be Devon, but I could be wrong.
@BShark I think our crappy play is more a team effort, but 7 turnovers when you play off the ball is pretty hard to explain. I keep thinking KJ is sitting over on the bench, and the few minutes he got ( except for that stupid behind the back pass on the fast break ) were better than what Vick played the whole game. Vick is not a hero, and I think him trying to be one hurts more than it helps.
I'm not sweating this game. We looked pretty crappy, played terrible, and got our ass handed to us. It's January 5th, folks. We looked really bad at this time last year as well, and it worked out pretty good. No doubt we have a long way to go. I'm real excited to see Grimes play well. He was pretty much the only bright spot today. Hopefully Doke will feel good enough he'll want to play for us at some point in the future, although I don't think it would've helped much today. We live to fight another day.
Fran mentions Tennessee as a potential Final Four team, but doesn't bother to mention we beat them. Yet, he mentions everytime a Clone player scratches his nuts...
STFU, Fran...
@wissox He was talking about how fred and Proehm had rebuilt the program...I guess them finishing in last place didn't fit the narrative, so last year's results weren't mentioned.
@wissox lol...you behave yourself...hehehe...
@jayballer73 They certainly have LOTS of length on the perimeter. I don't think we're used to it. I'm hoping we settle down the 2nd half, and start protecting the ball, and make all these dumb fans very sad...
Long term, this game could be essential for our team. Mr. Grimes, you are playing great. I'm lovin' it...
Is this simply an infomercial for the Clones or what? Little Frannie is just gushing all things Clones...
@jayballer73 The Clones will try to spread us out, which wouldn't have set well for Doke anyway. I think we'll be fine.
I think we'll win. KU by 7. ESPN can kiss my butt.
@Woodrow ugh...
@Woodrow That means a whole bunch of dumb gamblers will be doubling up on football tomorrow to cover their losses...RCJHGKU...
@wissox Free throw shooting is a skill. With his ability, he could be an 80% ft shooter.
@Kcmatt7 I think you have the right perspective. We're going to have to show patience. The fact we run two different offenses depending on whether Doke is in the lineup is probably slowing the learning curve down for the newcomers.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I like that idea of Garrett running point, with Dotson at the 2. Not saying I like that on a permanent basis, but I would sure like see them at least try it out. If only Garrett could hit a jump shot ...
@Texas-Hawk-10 I disagree. We had some sensational games last year. This year, the best we've had are real good halfs. Last year, we had games where we shot over 50% from 3.
