@BShark i was kidding, but i didn't want you to get mad.

I thought we got a good draw. i would've preferred a purdue as a 2 seed, and tenn as a 3. Still, I have always thought Dook was overrated, and Sparty is beatable.

@dylans i've spent the last 6 hours annoying my girlfriend, and riling up wvu and tucky fan bases.

@BShark i slapped around a few hillbilly goofs on that thread. i have been supremely unproductive today- i'm too distracted by the brackets...

i need some brackets, man. i'm jonesing...

@BShark AZ would have to move up, or even WVU. I would much rather face Auburn.

Today is a lot like Xmas, but I hate the waiting. So, I thought I would dig out the 8/9 projected seeds, and the 4/5 projected seeds from Bracket Matrix, and list them ,and see if we could speculate who we play the 2nd and 3rd games. Let me tell you - it is no picnic who we have to face:

Now, I'm taking out B12 teams, so it does slim down the field:

9 seeds:

Butler

Creighton

Alabama

8 seeds:

Providence

Misery

Nevada

Virginia Tech

5 Seeds:

Gonzaga

Clemson

Tucky

Ohio St

4 seeds:

Shlockers

Arizona

The two other B12 teams as 4 seeds certainly limit the choices, don't they?

So, I am speculating the NCAA will try to set up a tri-state playoff, and we'll get Misery the first weekend, and the Shlockers the 2nd weekend. Heck, maybe they'll throw "Tucky in as the 5 seed in our region, and the Shlockers can bloody themselves up facing the Squid and company. Feel free to chime in...

We can have both. We can have the national record for consecutive tournament appearances, consecutive conference championships, and still win the national championship. The "would you give up our history for the bright shiny banner" question is irrelevant. Would we all LOVE to win a national championship? YES. Roy Williams made 4 Final Fours and won nothing. Zip. Nada. In 30 years, we've won it twice. I am more than ready for the next one. I want Malik Newman to do a Kemba Walker. I want De Sousa and Doke to pull a twin towers routine. I want Devonte to do a Mario Chalmers, and Svi to hit a shot like Sherron. I want Vick to do a Brandon Rush imitation, and Garrett to give us some Russ Rob. I want Lightfoot to pretend he is Cole Aldrich, and give us 12 great minutes against some overhyped ACC opponent.

The other day, a friend of mine who is a Gonzaga fan ( yes, they have fans ), was crowing that they had made the NCAA tourney for the 20th consecutive time. I told him big whoop.

I don't want to be anybody but Kansas. I remember a time when they said Roy couldn't win the big one. I remember when Coach K went through a real dry spell. Our time will come. There will be a time when the entire college basketball world will all want us to lose because we're just too good. Once Bill overcomes the Elite 8, and he will, we're going to win multiple national titles.

I don't think he can. I think he has to be at least a year removed from high school.

@dylans Trae Young ruined that team. Now, he put up some crazy good numbers, but I think that whole team quit on him. I am so glad he chose them instead of us.

@Bwag He was the difference in the game. I love Mitch, but that was too much size he was giving up. If Silvio wasn't playing, we lose that game.

@Statmachine Even if they don't line up together, he's a better rebounder than Doke. He is unflappable- plays with a ton of poise. And he can shoot free throws ( although he missed two with a minute left ). Let Doke get 20 minutes, and Silvio 15. The best thing that could've happened to this team is Doke having a minor injury, which let Silvio get comfortable out there.

@BShark Is that your way of saying you were wrong again?

They beat every team in the tournament by double digits. During the season, they didn't have enough of a bench to do anything other than take the lead, and save their energy for the next conference game. This led people to underestimate our team, which is a mistake. Just wait until they get into the Final Four- they'll think it was fluke...lol.

@Buster-1926 There was a lot of caterwauling going on around here for a few days. I just let them scream until they tired themselves out.

I didn't get to 82% accuracy by steering you wrong. Now we have a very serviceable back up to Doke, with Mitch playing the energy guy role. Yes, it took awhile, but we got there just in time. Silvio appears from Door number 3, and now our huge, glaring weakness doesn't seem nearly as bad as it did. We're the number 1 seed in the Midwest...lets make some noise, lets cut some nets down, and make it to the Final Four. RCJHGKU.

@BShark It has been puzzling me for some time, but I finally figured out who "Marsha" reminds me of. Have you ever seen that commercial where the man begins to start acting like his mother? Marsha reminds me of somebody's mother.

@BShark Your track record on predicting games is much worse than Doke's FT%. Maybe you and him should work on your shortcomings...lol.

KU opened as a 1 point favorite, and line has moved to WVU -2. WVU definitely wants to beat us badly...will we come to play tonite?

@BShark They wouldn't have finished top 3. I think they would've finished with a winning record, though. I've watched 6 or 7 of their games this year, and I like them. Good team.

@DoubleDD I love watching Roy's teams. He has like 6 juniors and seniors playing this year. Remember those days?

@nuleafjhawk No one knows who will be in the Final Four yet. They lost to a team in a meaningless game after they had just won the outright conference championship for the 14th consecutive year. On the road. Then they turned around and beat the crap out of them. The reason we are in the lead for the 1 seed is because we have more Quadrant 1 wins than any team in basketball. We just completed the toughest, and most competitive conference schedule with essentially 7 guys. There is nothing that this team can't do. Everytime the fan base was ready to write them off, they have proven the naysayers wrong. Now, I don't expect you to suddenly start to believe in them, but some of us still do. So, until proven wrong, I will still believe we will make the Final Four, and win the national championship. I hope I'm right, and you're wrong.
