@BShark I think today showed we can feed the post by letting Newman drive to the lane. A good back screen can work just as good as a dunk.
That 1988 team was simply a left over shell of a great team, and Danny. I mean, they had practically nothing beyond Danny. Chris Piper, Milt Newton and the rest were left over spare parts from the days of Calvin Thompson, Kellog, and the bunch. It's possible.
@BShark We don't have the talent or the depth we normally have, but doesn't mean it's not possible. 1988 was the Alpha/Omega on that ...a 6 seed. I was watching newman today, and thinking..where has that been? I almost think we've spent so much time getting Doke his looks, we've neglected our best play maker.

@JayHawkFanToo All the money rolled in on Kansas which is why the line moved up to 6. Vegas doesn't care who wins, unless it's very lopsided one way. That's why they moved the line up-because nobody believed that the Cowpunks could beat us three times in a row.

@BeddieKU23 Like i said, maybe it wasn't such a great idea to play him so little. That being said, he's next up. I thought he has looked very good in limited minutes, even with the limited playbook they run when he's in there. Hopefully, he'll step up, and give us some good minutes, and Vick, and Newman will come to play.
Oh woe is us...lol. If we get to the Sweet 16, then we should have him back that week. All this stuff about not having a chance is a little premature, in my opinion. I think De Sousa has looked really good, and maybe the team rallies around a man down, and gets us into the 2nd weekend.
So, I guess not playing De Sousa very much might not end up being a wise idea.

If you read that whole long article, it sounds like the NBA will set up an alternative to college- not just the top few players. It sounds like they're going to try to kill off the college game.

@SkinnyKansasDude I hear you. We pulled him out of the lineup before, and it threw him off. Then, we reinserted him back into the starting lineup, and he looked better for a few games, and then he tailed off tremendously. The body language looks like he's not with us, so I don't know what to think about him. I know if we get matched up with a Dook, I don't see him guarding Bagley. Silvio is still making lots of mistakes, but he starting to make plays every time he hits the floor. Maybe there is not enough time to get him acclimated to playing along side Doke, but I think we have to try something different if we play Okie St again.
For Thursday's game against the Cowpokes. Why not? Let's just muscle the crap out of them, and punish them on the boards. It can't be any worse than what we did on Saturday. So, why not try it?
@JayHawkFanToo He is such a defensive liability, they take him out on the defensive end, and then reinsert him when they go on offense at the end of games. He tries hard, but players just blow right past him like he's standing still. A really good 3 point shooter, though. He would've never played substantial minutes if he had stayed at KU, so I think it was best that he went to WSU.

I agree. We can't afford to have someone suck out 30+ minutes when his replacement is simply playing better in every phase of the game. this team needs all the help it can get on the defensive end, and Garrett > Vick.
I don't want to see Michigan, Florida, or any Pac 12 team until the Final Four if they, or we make it that far.
