Bill outcoached the SHIT out of K tonight btw. Who would you want other than Bill? NOBODY!
DUKE TEARS TASTE SOOOOOOOO GOOOOD. So glad we got to be the team who knocked Grayson Allen out of the tourney.
Proud of these guys no matter what happens the next 5 minutes.
We have to get Carter out. Have to go right at him. Whoever is guarding him, flop like you've never flopped before. With him out, the size advantage basically disappears.
@BShark Bill bringing him in at semester was absolutely clutch. Still can't believe it.
+8 this half right now. Bill got us together at half. Just need to hold off the size and keep playing hard for 8 more minutes. We seem to be scoring at will.
Sigh...
OUR BOYS WANT IT MORE
@Blown Lol that was great. PHOF
That series was brutal from the refs. Doke clearly fouled on the dunk. Straight up on Bagley gets the foul called by the ref with no angle on the play anticipating the call.
@approxinfinity Nope. If we lost because they hit those above 30%, we lose. JMO though.
Player of the game will be Svi if we win this game. He has boxed out Bagley all game long. He won't get the credit he deserves from the media though.
There it is. numba foe
@Blown I saw your original post. Seems like you at least tied.
@Blown than your post is simply ignorant. No arguing that.
We need to start driving the zone more. Their wings play to high up to get back to help.
@Blown you can’t just consider what one team does. Especially when those numbers are inflated because we have never faced a zone team with this much talent.
@BeddieKU23 was never a good matchup for us. A team with size that takes away the 3.
Yet somehow we are only down 3 and could just as easily be up. Selfs gameplan has been better than Ks. I think we look better than them right now.
@Blown You aren't considering what the other team has done defensively. And you aren't considering runs. Once the game is over you can call it that if we are still shooting 28% from 3.
Duke hasn't allowed a good 3 point shooting night since February 3rd. We are currently shooting the 6th best of the 13 games they have played since St. Johns. We are shooting what we shoot and they are defending how they defend. Pretty on par for both teams. Not a trough.
The trough theory is made up. We could just as easily shoot 7-14 in the 2nd half and end up shooting 40% and still lose this game.
We look like a 12-0 run is bound to happen. Have to attack Carter right away and get him his 4th. If that happens, we win this game.
We look more talented, just indersized
I am appreciating that they are letting this game come down to the players at this point. Let them play
Doubling off of Duval like I thought.
@BeddieKU23 if Duval is in, whoever is guarding him should come off of him to double down. At least that’s what I would do.
@BShark Agreed. Jay has choked in the tourney really hard until just recently though as well. I’m excited for the home and home these next two years.
@mayjay TTU looked awful offensively. Didn’t looked fired up at all outside the first 1:30 of the game. Played way too slow. I was disappointed tbh
Bill pre-EE is probably as good Xs and Os as anyone. And, I think once he gets that monkey off of his back we will see him roll off several FFs in his last years here. We wouldn’t be discussing this if Bill wins the Nova game two years ago.
Not a horribly reffed game. Techs problem was that they couldn’t score at all inside. Nova forced them to shoot jumpers and they couldn’t hit them.
I have homework to pass the time at least. This is the last class I need to pass before I can get into the Master of Statistics program at KU. The dream is to be a Stats guy for some sort of sports team.
Gotta kill KSU fans watching two players who probably could have just as easily been on their team if offered, beat them to go to the FF.
Funny to see how different this game has been officiated.
Sneed should be touching the ball every possession. And Maween? Shouldn’t shoot ever again.
@kjayhawks a decent tournament team with a huge recruiting pool and amazing resources.
I feel like you’re talking out of both sides of your mouth on this now. There isn’t going to be a job that opens up that he takes over a good program minus if Someone retires. Basically, you can’t say he’d leave for money and then say but also only if it’s a good program and has a good roster (which UCLA still is and would have)
@Barney oh exactly. Out of a timeout. In foul trouble with 4 minutes left in the first half. Things like that. Or maybe open up the 2nd half with it for 4 minutes and see if they can figure out what the hell is going on haha.
@BShark I love that the pressure is on this Duke team. It should be. Starting all 5 star recruits. First guy off the bench is a 5 star. They are just Fing loaded tbh.
I just hope we can keep Doke on the floor. A game called like that KSU game and we lost.
I wonder if Bill has worked on any junk D this season? Would be funny to run a triangle and 2 on them at certain points. Put the two guys on Allen and Trent and double the post with the guy at the top of the key the second it gets fed.
I honestly think it would work.
@DoubleDD it’s easy to say that, but college doesn’t develop players well enough in its current form for the NBAPA to agree to that. Nor does it pay players when the NBA would and taking out 3 years of potential earnings is a lot.
My thought is this: Add 10 games to the season and adopt NBA rules. That fixes a lot of the development issues most will have. Let players hire agents who’s job is to simply fetch endorsement deals. That takes care of the fair compensation issues. I wouldn’t have any requirements to stay. My thing is that I would simply create an environment that makes the decision to Stay in college a profitable one for the players. Where they are getting proper development and paid fairly so that they only go to the NBA when they are ready to go.
@BShark I think he will thrive once he gets to switch to the “4”.
@DoubleDD if He puts up another 1 win season he can’t stay. Just can’t. I hope this is an effort in futility on my part and he has an amazing season and we win 4 games. I just don’t see that happening.
@BShark I don’t think he will be.
@approxinfinity that’s what all the announcers have done all season so I think it’s actually correct
@JayHawkFanToo lol with Chiefs news popping up lately I’m all but ready to turn the page to football.
I actually am nervous for this game though. For real.
@BeddieKU23 Go in early and take a nap at 2pm. When your boss knows youre this big of a fan, he just lets you do your thing.
I'll get started on Coordinators more next week.
@JayHawkFanToo No he wasn't. Sorry if you were being sarcastic lol. But Frost was the HC last year and he went to Nebraska.
Heupel got named in December after Frost took the Nebraska job.
I've done a little research myself now and have started a list of guys I wouldn't be upset with them hiring if they have a good 2018 season.
-
Jason Candle - Toledo - 21-7 Record. However, he took over an already good roster from Matt Campbell. On the flip side, Matt Campbell's early success at ISU might bode well for Candle. He is on my short list though.
-
Scott Satterfield - Appalachian State. 37-14 Record. Was OC for their 3 FCS National Championships and took over the job in 2013. They switched from FCS to FBS in the 2014 season and he has had a winning record every season since the switch. Very good candidate, but he may not leave. He has been there for 15 years and he is from North Carolina.
-
Mike Norvell - Memphis - 18-8. If we really want to continue to have an Air Raid offense, this would be a risky hire. But probably one that could have the highest upside. A Texas guy, but he has coached all over the country so he probably would be able to piece together a good team.
-
Neal Brown - Troy - 25-13. Age 38. Young fella that probably would have the energy to recruit the way he will have to recruit here. He was the OC at Tech and runs the Up-Tempo Air Raid better than our coaches do, no doubt about it.
@wissox Idk. I would have been torn for sure. But at the moment, want the extra B12 revenue from the wins so we can use it to hire a competent football coach next season.
Is KU a better job than FAU? How much would it cost to get Lane Kiffin?
The Kentucky fans tears taste soooooo gooooooood.
Alright, well being a KSU "fan" lasted long enough. Glad that's over.
