Kev doing things
WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM THESE GUYS ON DEFENSE?
Refs are unreal right now. I usually don’t say that but damn
What on earth is this lineup?
What an awful possession
Boon gets to be as physical as he wants and our guys just have to take it?
Nice to see the guard post ups are back
Too many whistles
ND giving Duke a hard time here late… 👀
@kjayhawks i think statistically taking the 1 seed is a no brainer. About a 40% of 1 seeds make the FF.
Only about 20% of 2 seeds do.
@BeddieKU23 Good stuff. Thanks for sharing!
@kjayhawks tech is basically out. 12 losses puts them outside looking in no matter what imo. If they happened to find a way to win out maybe
UNC didn’t NEED that win, but it damn sure would have helped their cause… This could have been a resume builder for them
That team in Manhattan is coming back down to earth a bit.
Hazing almost always happens because coaches encourage it.
It’s sad every time you hear stories like this.
Wisconsin loses a bad one. OUT of the tourney now…
OOOF. UK going down to Georgia May be the nail in the coffin
Going to go ahead and list out a few teams to watch here down the stretch and their schedules.
UNC:
- Vs. Clemson (72 Kenpom)
- Vs. Miami (30 Kenpom)
- @ NC State (49 Kenpom)
- @ Notre Dame (179 Kenpom)
- Vs. Virginia ( 14 Kenpom)
- @ FSU (186 Kenpom)
- Vs. Duke (33 Kenpom)
Best guess, UNC gets in. But it almost all hinges on the next 3 games. I think they HAVE to go 2-1 or they are NIT bound.
Kentucky:
- @ Georgia (123 Kenpom)
- @ MSU (45 Kenpom)
- Vs. Tenn (4 Kenpom)
- @ Florida ( 44 Kenpom)
- Vs. Auburn (27 Kenpom)
- Vs. Vandy (94 Kenpom)
- @ Arkansas (19 Kenpom)
Best guess, UK is OUT. That is a pretty tough schedule. I think they'll need win 5 of these games to get in. Meaning they'll have to hold serve at home against Tennessee and Auburn, and win 2 of these 4 road games. Tall task for a team that is basically in free fall.
Okalahoma State:
- @ ISU
- Vs. KU
- @ TCU
- @ WVU
- Vs. KSU
- Vs. Baylor
- @ TTU
Best guess: OSU is OUT of the tourney. This is the unfortunate situation of a good team playing in a meat grinder. Would be in if they were in any other P5 conference. I think they have too tough of a road schedule to overcome. About the only way that OSU gets in is stealing one of the first 3 road games, beating TTU AND holding serve at home against KU, Baylor and KSU.
Wisconsin:
- @ Nebraska (104 Kenpom)
- Vs. Michigan (52 Kenpom)
- Vs. Rutgers (17 Kenpom)
- Vs. Iowa ( 32 Kenpom)
- @ Mich (52 Kenpom)
- Vs. Purdue (5 Kenpom)
- @ Minn (222 Kenpom)
Badgers are IN. Very favorable home schedule, and playing against resume builder teams. They have to win, but with only one tough road game left on the schedule they should be able to pull it off.
Duke:
- @ UVA (14 Kenpom)
- Vs. Notre Dame (179 Kenpom)
- @ Syracuse ( 88 Kenpom)
- Vs. Louisville (304 Kenpom LOL)
- Vs. VT (59 Kenpom)
- Vs. NC State (49 Kenpom)
- @ UNC (36 Kenpom)
Duke will have to screw up to not get in.... Totally possible, but I think unlikely. I think that even if they lose to UVA, NC State and UNC they are a last 4 in. However, if they do all of that and drop one of these other games, it could get interesting for the Blue Devils.
Those are the ones I care to watch at the moment. I think Memphis, Seton Hall, Oregon and A&M will be interesting to watch too. Seton Hall really the only one of that bunch that has an effect on KU from a seeding/rankings/NET standpoint.
UT is one of the best offenses in the country starting 3 players who basically won’t take a 3. And Hunter is the 4th and he is a bad shooter.
It isn’t the death of KU’s offense to play the 2 together.

Hoop Math has him at 49% on 2 pt jumpers. 72% on shots at the rim matching "he dunks a lot".
This is pretty good.
I also don’t think you can discount his ability to get to the rim. He’s a freak athlete so getting to the rim is something he’s going to be able to do at the 4 or the 5.

@Kcmatt7 That's my thought as well. I do think KJ might be able to play some bully ball similar to Wilson on drives just without the shot to back it up. My secret hope is that KJ has a serviceable jumper that he just hasn't shown yet. I know it's a long shot.
Yea since the days of Mitch Lightfoot we've been hoping a big man could develop a shot.... I don't think it is crazy to think KJ could stretch his range to the top of the key. But I also don't see how his shooting is the liability some think it is. He is shooting 64% from 2 which would be one of the best in the country (sports-reference is down or I'd check exactly where he stands).
If Udeh approaches a similar efficiency on the block next season I'm pretty sure it will work, and work well.

Udeh is the go to guy next season book it
KJ will still start I think.
I'm trying to bite my tongue, but I seriously expect KJ to start at the 4 and Udeh at the 5. If we go land a stud in the portal, I reserve the right to change my mind. But if we don't get just a guaranteed starter type in the portal I think Bill is sicko enough to do this.
Creighton has won 7 in a row to go from 9-8 to 16-8 and is now up to 12th on Kenpom.
Really unfortunate that we missed out on Scheierman. Would have been the perfect fit for this season imo. Rebounding, shooting, passing, etc. Guy does it all.
Svi will have made $10.5M in his career now.
I'd imagine this is his last year on an NBA roster, but good for him. I'd imagine he goes to Europe and balls out for a bit.

I'm thrilled the cocky sucker stopped calling 📞 and Grill didn't get the call at the end. If he would've made the easy bucket instead of trying to get the foul, he would've made it. Then he whined and wasted seconds. They must train and do charge drills and flops.
I can't believe how much he complained after literally not getting touched.
@BeddieKU23 said in 2023 Transfer Portal:
I wouldn't say it's ideal but another year gives you 10-14 pts ppg tons of rebounds, steals and headaches😂
As long as he doesn't get Jalen/Ochai volume of shots I'm fine with it... begrudgingly.
Initial thoughts watching Castillo's "tape" is that he has a silky sooth stroke and just absolutely pure... VERY good at pulling the trigger moving to his left (a lot of the best shooters are). Looks like he has really good ball handling.
Concerns would obviously be his size and athleticism. Doesn't seem to be an elite athlete (that's okay if you can shoot 40% from deep).
Odd to me a top 25 guy doesn't have a writeup on 247. Looks to me like a 3-4 year guy that would do well in the new Self 4-out offense. Would be really nice to play him next to another PG that has some size and really make that pick and roll deadly.
Hope they land him. Seems like KSU is in deep as well?
It’s time for Kevin to start his pro career. He is who he is, and that is a dude playing overseas.
Lol Tennessee with a bad loss to Vandy
TCU absolutely getting hosed by the refs
If UK can’t make a comeback, this is the game that breaks them I think.
Not sure you can salvage the locker room with this loss
@KirkIsMyHinrich said in Other games:
Well, with Calipari as the coach you know the offense isn't going to be good, so a Kentucky team that doesn't play defense is going to suck.
Just funny to think how far UK and UNC fell after their 2021-22 seasons…
Lmao TCU just got fouled 3 times in one possession, results in a fast break for KSU… would have been a 7 point game, now an 11.
This is going to push UK to “last four in” territory.
Absolutely must win games the next 2 for them
Fouls by the trailing team when the team leading is trying to inbound the ball should be an intentional foul inside of 2 minutes.
Like good god imagine if Bacot left.
UNC actually for real seriously on bubble watch 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
@TYOHawk Bobby isn’t good. Can’t shoot. Not really elite at anything. Constantly unavailable.
He still has potential, but I’d rather find another guy.
Did we really drop in the Kenpom rankings after a win vs. the #10 team?
I think there is room for a starter on the perimeter and a bench guy, just thinking out loud.
Either Johnson or Elmarko is a starter. Juan back at PG. KJ is a starter. Have a hard time believing Rice isn't a starter if he is back. Only leaves one spot.
10 Quad 1 wins, most in the country
In no way was that a foul lmao
Damnit anyone on the floor but Kev shooting Ft would be better lol
Kev this is your 5th year in a college program. How do you do that?
Kev after that foul!F31D1BAB-EE6F-4C2F-A16D-9F41CDF2AACE.gif ↗

For the love of God BLOCK is your friend. And don't requote his as+ine posts.
Juan plays well and what happens
Jalen can suck and we are ahead of a top 5 team
Juan is THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER
Eventually this board will see it
I don’t think the board disagrees with this. They just cut Juan slack. He isn’t going to be perfect.
We’re getting that Drake Yesufu tonight
