I don’t think we need to do anything special against KSU. Just our regular ball pressure should be enough. They don’t play defense.
I think we win both games.

KSU and ISU with huge road wins… Baylor 0-3 to start conference play and desperately in need of an intervention
When does Boeheim call it quits? It is time…
Drew getting schooled by his own playbook
Has Bill mastered getting us to play loose?

We found out in the last game that +7 pts is not safe on the road.
I’d have taken a 7 point lead before the game but feels like we misssed a chance to blow this one open with how well we shot the ball early.
This team is so good at getting up 12 and then giving up a 10-4 run.
I REALLY don’t understand what is going on with Baylor this year.
They should be National Championship hopefuls

Only 2 shot attempts by the bench-Joe of course. Only 2 bench points.
Joe should have -2 points for that stupid foul
This ref crew 🤡
@BShark I’m beginning to call it “Snyder Syndrome”
It is a syndrome where they believe that their coaches and players all play there for the love of the game and nothing else. Nothing shady. Good ole fashioned loyalty, and if anything bad happens here it really didn’t happen that way.
Need to get this one today to keep pace with ISU…

Pretty damn good class when this is the other guy in it to this point.
KSU fans don’t think Tang gets poached as soon as a better job comes available 😂
@BShark hard to argue against that logic.

The Clones for real?
Yes. You could argue they have the third best coach in the league with Beard gone.
Who do you like at 2?
If ISU wins @ OU and @ TCU they are in the drivers seat for the championship.
A lot of talk about Tang to UT, but TJ should be on the short list for any good opening. He may be my new #1 to replace Bill. 45 years old and winning with whoever he can get.
Iowa State gud
Doke was Raw, but he knew how big he was and used it.
Udeh seems to not realize he is as big, long and strong as he is.
That’s really the difference between the two. I have a lot of confidence that it clicks for Udeh before he leaves KU.

Jalen as a 1st round guy is a take. I love Jalen but I don’t really see much of a NBA career for him.
Feels like the perfect 2-way guy for a bad team trying to lose games without ACTUALLY throwing games.

Kentucky is bad.
The St. Peter’s loss followed by this encore season May be too much for some UK fans to bear 😂😂
Notable Departures:
Notable Additions/Returning:
As of right now, we return nearly the entire offense, and essentially everything but the front 4 on D.
Phelps leaving is killer. The best defensive player in the team, but I get it. I thought he was NFL good this season. Going to need a lot from the Minnesota transfers to fill those shoes. We desperately need to find some more DL even after landing 3 priorities in the portal.
Kicker is getting addressed (it seems).
Overall I think we are returning a borderline top 25 roster. We just need the defense to improve and we’re legitimately talking about competing for the conference imo.
Player retention will still be big to watch, but I have o love where we are at.
Tang to Texas is going to be soooooo funny

Damn! The Big 12 is as tough as everyone is making us out to be!
KSU trashes Texas! Baylor loses at home!
We can't fall asleep on anyone this year... we started to with OSU at home and it took quite the effort to pull that one out!
I'm curious if this will become one of those "typical Jayhawk conference" seasons? We win-out at home and take some on the road then we appreciate teams like KSU doing some dirty work for us by punching some of the other conference best teams...
I'm just not sold on us being that kind of team this year. With our outrageous talent and proudly wearing a Nattie trophy around our necks during the conference season it makes more sense that we become a great road warrior team and then sometimes fall asleep at home. I hope it's not the case and we come ready for the rest of our games... if not... we will be totally embarrassed sometimes. But that can work, too. Thank you, Kentucky, for spanking us on our home court last year! lol
Feels like a year KU wins the league running away with it... Texas was primed to give us a run for our money until the Bear ordeal. I'm not sure anyone else really has the horses to do it. TCU could, but only if they are essentially perfect.
Move the dude to WR. Get him #2 reps at QB just in case, but get the guy on the field more!
Nike delivered a handpicked squad to Duke and Johnny boy is going to lose 11 games with them.
The rims here have to be an inch wider or something
Hopefully the guys rally around Kev tonight. Use it as fuel.
If we see a few early threes go in that would be great. Feels like we haven’t been getting Dick enough quality touches lately. If they are going to cover him at the 3, get some back door dunks from him. Force them to change the game plan.
Instant classic. Bummer to end up on the losing side.
Just the start of one of the best stretches of KU Football history incoming. You can sense it.
This is why coaching matters. LL never gave up. The team never gave up.
Unreal to watch this kind of fight from our guys.

I’m actually serious, is the Calipari era coming to an end at UK?
Pretty good question to ask. I think he needs some kids to move on and we all know the who's.
I'm wondering if they will get it together later on but so far it hasn't looked good. I'm certainly not going to complain as his failure to win adds more separation in the all time win total
I mean I’m a big fan of them keeping him. I’m not sure anyone has ever squandered more talent in the history of basketball.

Correct

Is Mizzou good?
I mean i knew UK would struggle because their best PG is Wheeler, but damn. Maybe they shouldn’t have shoo’d off Keion Brooks
Bad taste in our mouths going into the off-season… 13 points from this offense is sad
I haven’t heard a fat lady singing quite yet. Get a score on this first possession and it’s on

Haven’t been able to get out in transition really at all either… DaJuan picking up 2 is such a killer. Hurts so much on both ends.

https://n.rivals.com/team_rankings/2023/all-teams/football ↗
Yeah a top 30 class is very hard to pull off. Future is bright for them especially with Texas and OU leaving.
Have to keep him there… I would bet a lot of money this is his last season in MHK
Dons may have scored more in the first half than ASU will score the entire game
Arizona State got absolutely wrecked by San Francisco tonight. Losing by 44 with 4:35 left 😂😂
Keep adding big men. By far the weakest position on the D.
@Crimsonorblue22 said in 2022-23 stats-PER, Kenpom etc:
I think we know why MJ has not been playing much. When you see how unselfish our team played and what the results were from that, that's a big reason why. Gotta be sharing!
While I definitely agree, I don't think benching him is going to encourage him to shoot less. He needs to play more and realize that the points will come from moving the ball.
He's not Cheik Diallo selfish... And he seems to say the right things when he gets interviewed. I just think he's pressing because he expected to be playing. Just my thoughts from the few hours we get to watch these guys each week.
As unfortunate as it may be, a shot at repeating hinges on Bill finding something consistent from the bench.
If Zuby can give you 6 ppg a night and defend, that is all we need. And then one of MJ/Bobby/Yes have to become a consistent piece off of the bench. I'm a big Joe fan, but I really think MJ should be getting those minutes. I'm sure there is some stuff behind the scenes there (not sure if it is effort or attitude) but MJ just brings more to the table. He can finish in transition, he can switch defenders, and he is an elite athlete.
On the bright side, Joe isn't THAT bad (we moan but he's a pretty solid bench piece tbh). I just think a comfortable MJ in March is way more dangerous than Joe. I thought after the 19 points and 22 minutes he got vs. Texas Southern we were about to see some more of him. But that apparently wasn't enough to get him out of the dog house...
If we flame out early and the bench only gives us like 2 points, this will be a season we ask "what if" about Bill's usage of MJ. I really don't understand him getting 6 total minutes in the last 2 games we won running away with it, but Bill is the GOAT for a reason. I will do my best to not whine about it, hoping that Bill has a plan to go back to back.
