@wrwlumpy Agreed. Baylor isnt a final four team, neither is WVU or OU.
We need Diallo. We could be a Final Four team without him but it would be a lot easier to do with him on the court.

@blackmild33 Nice!!
@Crimsonorblue22 Oh I know! He is our next KU NBA All star.
@nuleafjhawk Rolling!
@Crimsonorblue22 Wow! I didnt think anything would be done about that at all! Its good to see there are people with brains in their heads in office at the Big 12.
Wiggs is looking very good too. His handle has improved I think, as has his outside shooting. Im not sure about his creating for others. Wish I had access to a box score. I just watched the Canada/Uruguay game on Espn replay. WIggs had 18 points and about 6 boards, maybe 2 or 3 assists, a couple steals and a block. Pretty good stat line. He seemed to be rotating from SG to SF and back.
There was a couple really great transition scores from Wigs. One of which I posted above. He has definitely gotten a handle on his ball skills. He takes the ball from 3/4ths court starts with his left to cross half court, switches to his right and pretty much euro steps his way through two defenders to slam the ball home one handed. Nasty!
@JayHawkFanToo Agreed. Mason's stature inhibits him from being drafted. He can play, no doubt about that! But, if he was 6'1 or 6'2 he'd be a first rounder, maybe lottery. There have been shorter guys in the NBA...see Spud Webb. Mason could absolutely play in the big leagues but he wont get drafted next year. If he makes it in, it'll be in 2 years as a free agent pick up, or he could go to Europe and do very very well for himself like Langford and Kaun and Miles etc.
Considering we still have like 2 months until the first KU tip off, I thought we might need to have something to ease our basketball starved minds.
Our super stud Andrew Wiggins is lighting it up for the Canada Fiba Americas Team. I have tried to find stats and box scores and stuff but havent had much luck. The games I have watched though, our boy Wiggs has scored at least 18 and done things like this Wiggs super slam ↗
Also the Canadian Fiba team has a former Big 12 packed roster with Wiggins, Melvin Ejim, Cory Joseph and Brady Heslip. Plus other guys like Kelly Olynyk and Nik Stauskas and Anthony Bennett.
This young team is making a good run and will probably get a spot in the Olympics next year.
@dylans I dunno man. I have various thoughts on this.
I dont really care. The whole thing is just idiotic and I don't want to spend much time on it.
It is kind of funny that it made front page news on yahoo.
The design really did look like the Enterprise but, the wide open mouth on the Jayhawk and the position of said starship really did make it look rather phallic.
Why would you do something like that on national tv? Especially considering the current issues with civil rights and the LGBT community.
I dont know, maybe it was just a stupid mistake and who ever put that together had no malicious intent in mind. But still, someone probly needs to get punished for that one.
Thats all I have to say on this and Im not going to waste much time caring about it.
KU fans > KSU fans, KU > KSU and they always will be.
@jaybate-1.0 Selden is at the 3 this season, I bet he cans the trey at .40 too
@wissoxfan83 Yeah, I saw that on the espn feed. KU down by 3 with 2 min left. Almost but not quite. Oh well, late nights in what, 5 weeks?

@ParisHawk Solid points there. Tearing down AFH to concentrate on tourney excellence? Well, crap, we might as well give back the original rules of basketball. Let Duke have them, its a distraction to our real goal of winning more NC's, which will happen anyways.
I feel the same way about our streaks. Noone in Div 1 has as many consecutive NCAA tournament appearances as KU does. Noone in Div 1 has as many consecutive conference championships as KU does. It is absolutely bordering on historic. Who else can catch up? Plus, KU will absolutely get another ring or two, another couple final four and/or national title banners to hang, its just a matter of when. I dont disagree that I would like to have another three banners to hang in AFH.
Personally, I dont want to see KU miss the tourney or have to "settle" for an NIT bid. How F*&%ing humiliating would that be??
@wissoxfan83 Aaaaand the KU football season is over.

@elpoyo troll
@HighEliteMajor I am hoping CS learned something new in the WUGs that he can hang onto and apply to games in March. Thats the crux of it, can he apply what he learned this summer to scenarios in March?
To answer your question though, NO, I would not want any other coach with KU right now. Not even good Ole Roy or LB.
@clevelandjayhawk KU's 08 team was an underdog. Way too many experts picked UNC to beat them and Memphis to beat them. I knew though, I knew.
@justanotherfan Yep, Im amped up just reading your post. KU is one of the top 3 best programs and a case can easily be made for being the best, #1.
Our boys this year, man they are going to really beat some teams badly. Killer instinct reminiscent of the 08 team.
ROCK CHALK!!
@Statmachine I think its telling that Iowa St lost to a team KU would have beaten by 20+. It says to me that KU is ready now and Iowa St, who is supposed to be one of our main challengers this season has quite a bit of work to do.
@elpoyo Alright Colonel Sanders, you can be debby downer all you want. Im not gonna stop you.
@wrwlumpy Nice! "There's no place like home"
AFH is its own brand. No way KU ever renames it with some megachain business.
@jaybate-1.0 Omg! Too funny man, too funny!
Ok KU fans, I just saw a tweet by @FansOfKU . Its a screen shot of a tweet by @Fancaster. It reads thusly, College Hoops: Source confirms NCAA will clear #Jayhawks' @Cheick_diallo13 soon.
Truth or no? Im not sure, but it sure is exciting!!
@clevelandjayhawk I like the sound of that article, gives me even more confidence we will see Super Cheick on the court this year. "Pushing pace better than any PG weve had." That is some killer props from the coach.
We get Cheick, we get to the Final Four. We get Cheick, we ground and pound the UK Kitties in January at AFH. Although, we may do that anyways.
@Texas-Hawk-10 KU hasn't had a solid point guard since Sherron, Tyshawn was too unpredictable and terrible with turnovers. Mason reminds me soooo much of Sherron in how he is fearless and will take it right at an opponent and on the other end make sure his man is locked down and Mason is super strong, just a beast. Kid can probly play running back if he wants.
@jaybate-1.0 future KU lean footers man. KU lean.
@Crimsonorblue22 Holy cow, he looks a little baked and his girlfriend looks mega hot!
@drgnslayr Solid point
@drgnslayr said:
How about now? After a "Jayhawk silencer" is installed...
LOL! Holy Cow that is a funny photo! He looks like he is going to swallow that mini ball whole!
@MoonwalkMafia @elpoyo I totally disagree guys. Of course I cant speak for every KU fan but for my self, my view is two fold.
One, the Big 12 conference streak will reach 12 this year, well lets just say, it is extremely likely that it will. What other coach in a power conference has done this in the last 30 years? Noone, thats who. The last coach to win 12 in a row was Coach Wooden. On this fact alone, coach Self is reaching legendary status. If the streak reaches 12 this year and 13 next year, thats just bananas!
Two, I want KU to win a national title every year. Every one. But, I am also a realist. The college game has changed a lot since '08, the last time KU won it all. Its the shoe stacking era and like @jaybate-1.0 says, the chips are stacked against KU - Adidas and the balance of power is skewed towards Nike-UK and Nike - Duke and even Nike - west coast schools like Cal and Az.
Not to mention the apparent refereeing favoritism that is painfully evident when refs swallow their whistles every time ( seemingly ) that KU gets fouled intentionally. Was any whistle blown when Perry got his nose bashed in? Dont think so. Ok, so thats not an NCAA game but still, you get my point I hope.
KU just cannot win the uphill battle in the NCAA's every year. The best chance KU has to reach the national title game is to win the conference, win or take 2nd in the big 12 tourney and get a 1 seed in the Midwest or South bracket, closer to home, closer to our #1 fan base. We won it all in 08, got to the final four in '12, sweet 16 in 04 and 07, '11 and 13? I think? My point here is we are due for an excellent year this year. If everything falls into place like it should. We are due. We have a very talented, deep and experienced team. KU's best teams have had just that perfect mix of talent, depth and experience. We have that now! Even in the worst case scenario if Diallo doesnt get cleared, which he will, I believe that Perry, Bragg, Mickelson and Traylor/Lucas will be just fine. If Diallo has to sit for half or a whole season, Bragg will step up. He will. And, Mickelson will gain momentum going into the season from what he did in the WUGs.
Lastly, I dont like to see KU get beaten early in the NCAAs. Its just a terrible end to the season. I still cant get over the fact that we should have gotten to the final four in 13 against Michigan. EJ blew the game for us and he will always be in my dog house for it. The year we lost to Stanford while sitting JoJo and watching an overmatch, young but talented KU team get schooled by Stanford was killing me. So my point here is NO, I am absolutely not complacently accepting an early round exit when it happens. I want more. But I also realize the truth in what I said above and this year, I hope, will be a major defining moment for KU again.
Rock Chalk!!
@wissoxfan83 Im with you dude. Football is just a distraction for me until the first KU tip off.
@jaybate-1.0 I bought a pair of Adidas running shoes a couple weeks back. I was shopping online and looked at Nike, Adidas, Brooks, Saucony. I decided to support my feet with Adidas due to my unwavering loyalty to KU-Adidas
@jaybate-1.0 I'll take 38% from trey and a good communicator.
@jaybate-1.0 30,000 shoes? Thats a lot of shoes. Is that just for basketball or for all the collegiate sports?
@Lulufulu Questions to everyone.
Diallo will be able to practice per Coach in the last article we read from KU Sports and CJOnline.
When does practice start and who will be able to catch a practice live and dish to us about his progress?
@drgnslayr Did he ever play with or against Wilt?
@bskeet Agreed this team is stacked. Our backcourt is solid. I dare say it hasnt been this good since 08.
We need Perry to be Perry every game and we need Mickelson to channel his inner Withey. We need Lucas and Traylor to improve, if only slightly. Lastly, We need Diallo.
So during the seemingly infinite time between our last KUSA game and tip off of the '15-16 season, we have to keep ourselves entertained in other ways. We have to spend a lot of time watching what is going on in the recruiting world, which I dont really, and we do a lot of speculating about how this next coming season will go, what will happen.
I think KU is due for a big year. It'll be nearly 4 years since the tough and gritty yet short handed '12 team hit the floor. It'll be nearly 8 years since Mario's Miracles did the same.
I think I see a pattern developing here. I hope I am right.
Im watching the 08 game right now because I need a pick me up today, and because I'm basketball starved.
Our team this year has the very real chance to be championship good. Our starting 5 this year has a lot of talent and experience, typical of all the great KU teams. They will be solid on defense and deadly on offense. Will they be as tough as the 08 team or the 12 team?
I surely hope so. The performance they gave in the WUG's is definitely a great start.
How does everyone else speculate on how the 08 team and the 15-16 team compare?
Provided we get Diallo, I think they have an excellent chance to match what the 08 team did.
Bragg reminds me a lot of Shady but so does Diallo.
Devonte and Wayne and Frank can absolutely match up well with Chalmers,Russ,Collins
If Svi makes some huge improvements and gains this year, then he could match well with Rush.
One last thought, KU should have a KU Legends game again sometime before the season starts. Maybe not this year but soon.
@DoubleDD Oh I completely agree on all your points. Especially about Coach.
Every year the min wage should be raised to keep up with inflation. Or, at least every couple of years. Heck, I get a cost of living increase every year in addition to what ever else I get through union contract agreements. Which admittedly isnt that much, but whatever.
My issue is there was a CEO recently that took issue with raising min wage and said $15 is too much when he makes hundreds per hour. That is a really crap thing to say. Its completely hypocritical. That is what I have a problem with. The hypocrisy.
@ParisHawk Noooo Red Rooster is someone else entirely.
But does Bolden really read KU Buckets and or KU sports?
@jaybate-1.0 Thats very interesting indeed. Whats the chances that UK switches sides to Adidas? WHen is their Nike contract due to expire?
@Crimsonorblue22 I think Vail is out west in Cali, doing some firefighting.
Note: All fiction
@jaybate-1.0 Great thoughts dude! Ive also been thinking I might watch the 08 game again. Hasnt been that long since our last KU game but Im still starved for basketball.
@Statmachine And that was June!
@DoubleDD Completely off topic. Im torn in both ways over the minimum wage thing. I dont think there is an easy answer. You cant just raise it to 15 immediately, thats stupid, if its to be done, it should be done incrementally. Slowly. So employers and the economy have a chance to adjust.
And then, everyone else needs to get a comparable raise. Its just plain not fair to give min wage workers that big raise and no one else. Thats not happening anytime soon, so I think the min wage should be raised to 10, no further.
But then I also understand the apoplexy over CEO's complaining about 15 being too high and themselves making hundreds per hour. Its just insane.
@jaybate-1.0 Nice conspiracy theory. Im always on the lookout for them, because rich people who are in power are by definition corrupt. Your'e going to have to explain the connection between Big12/SEC basketball challenge and a possible conference merger to the Federal Govt, Senators bid for controlling the eastern power grid.
@elpoyo Whats wrong Colonel Sanders.... Chicken?
@justanotherfan I saw that too! Svi with shoes could be near 6-10!! It could just be depth of the curve that is affecting the perception of size on that back line though... and lack of shoes for certain guys. Has Jamari gotten stronger? I hope Greene is better soon too.
@wrwlumpy LoL, I meant to say that to you. Not @justanotherfan
