@KirkIsMyHinrich Braun has been solid in every game. Some are saying that he might be thinking of entering the draft after this year. I would recommend he come back for his senior year. Getting ready to do another plate of yesterday's turkey....

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:14 PM

If ever I were getting ready to embark on a new career as a head coach, I would just before starting the job in earnest enroll and partake in a two week I'm-a-cool-guy dance class.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:11 PM

Baylor chumped Michigan State..

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:10 PM

@BeddieKU23 right. Bad timing lol

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:10 PM

I like Harris, agree with you. Good to see Yesufu get a little pt though

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:09 PM

Yesufu needs to play this game, alot.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:07 PM

It was a bit much, the yelling and pointing. But I'll take it...

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:06 PM

That's a good T by Braun

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:04 PM

Yesufu needs some pt this game. He's feeling it.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 07:02 PM

@benshawks08 he quietly always does.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:50 PM

Dave needs to sit. He kills the offense then finally gets pulled and everyone tries to readjust, get back into a groove.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:45 PM

No flow with Dave in. None.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:44 PM

Thinking too much

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:42 PM

@approxinfinity lol tell us how you really feel.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:40 PM

@Kcmatt7 fyi, didn't say that I'd play Mitch over a combo of Wilson/Clemence.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:37 PM

Remy ready to play.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:36 PM

Just saying, Iona would be a tough matchup.

Dayton Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 06:21 PM

@benshawks08 at Oak Hill Academy?

UNT Turkey Day Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 02:29 PM

@mayjay For real, Mitch is playing well. I didn't expect Dave to play this badly again to start the season, not in his senior year.

Stephen A. Smith • Nov 26, 2021 02:23 PM

@mayjay you're right there, brother. He is everywhere.

UNT Turkey Day Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 02:12 PM

Alright, I'll eat some crow, glad that we have Mitch with the way Dave's been playing. Personally, I'm tired of the same conversation for going on four years now. Please don't come back for your super senior season, Dave. There,,, I'm done now.

Stephen A. Smith • Nov 26, 2021 01:22 PM

Is there anyone - I mean, for real - on television more grandstanding and fake, vain and patronizing than Stephen A. Smith? If there is, please let me know who and on what channel so that I can make sure to not tune in.

UNT Turkey Day Game Thread • Nov 26, 2021 11:44 AM

@rockchalkjayhawk I was impressed with Mitch's play. Juan wasn't on his game, seemed to kind of be forcing things.

Non-KU Games • Nov 26, 2021 11:36 AM

@KirkIsMyHinrich it might've been nice for our RPI, but the refs took that game from UConn

Not a very easy game to watch. UGLY game , no flow at al. I've been a Dave supporter but mercy he looked bad , I mean bad , he has got to got this turned around. To many TO'S - just an ugly game -I guess a win is a win if you have to win ugly , then win ugly. Get these out of our systems.

Christan looked decent , Mitch was ok. - - So if Dave get's benched who takes his place? - I just don't think Zac is the answer - - not starter anyways he get worked over on the defensive has to bulk up - so who ?

Not lying, I'd take Mitch over Dave at this point. You're right, he did look bad - just plodding along, a rusty mechanical look.

Ochai looked good, Remy and Braun too. Wilson not bad either, first game back. As it see it so far, Dave definitely the weak link. A hard game to watch.

Well I know people aren't going to want to hear this--- may not agree with this but I have to say it anyways - I think this year that Kentucky might just be some better then last year. , actually quite a bit better , hey I'm not to proud to admit it -- they better - - they better that's all. - -It's gonna be a pretty good match up when we meet them in the Bi2 12/Sec challenge. Of course they are already starting with the whiner excuse if we win, How the Refs favor us so badly at the Phog - -they are already getting that out there 5 on 8 they said. - Talking about how at least 2-3 of there guys will be in foul trouble by the 1st TV time out lol

Kentucky - so far, from what I've seen - is tougher than last year. And they had damn well better be, with that lineup? Sorry, I've never been impressed with Cal as a coach, just haven't - Top 5 classes every year but laying yet another egg?

@wissox I've always been an Och fan.

Two trials, similar and different • Nov 23, 2021 02:57 PM

@BeddieKU23 yeah, the media slanted it to such an extent that it was just blatant. I don't watch the news much either.

Ochai appreciation • Nov 22, 2021 10:01 PM

@BShark I expect them to as well, but 17 or 18 ppg is pretty realistic.

Non-KU Games • Nov 22, 2021 05:33 PM

@BeddieKU23 he is definitely skilled.

Ochai appreciation • Nov 22, 2021 05:27 PM

He made the right decision to come back, no question there.

Holmgren is rail thin. Not so sure that he can bully anyone if push came to shove.

Wish I had been able to run with someone like him if we were both sixteen. So much for being carded at the liquor store, huh? Lol.

Non-KU Games • Nov 22, 2021 12:39 AM

@Oldmanhawk no question. They'll give Michigan a run for their money, if not win the B1G outright.

Signing Day • Nov 21, 2021 09:16 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Maybe, but Doke had to get into shape, then learn how to have a motor. Udeh is already both of those. Not sure about the T-Rob comparison either, Zuby seems to be more skilled coming in. What I like about both? In shape, and they don't stop!

@wissox said in Well kind of boring afternoon , anyone for memory lane ?:

@Oldmanhawk Wow, that's an awesome story!! I have a Scooter story too. I was in my first week at KU. I really knew very little about the basketball tradition I'd walked into. Well I had a short field trip for a Geography class and getting into van I closed the door accidentally on someones hand. I hear "I hope that's not your shooting hand". He wasn't hurt. I sized him up as a skinny white kid and assumed the shooting hand comment meant he was a golfer or something like that. So I asked and he said he was Scooter and on the team. He was very cool. He told me his who his dad was and I remember watching him in the ABA.

That's a great story too!

@Oldmanhawk said in Well kind of boring afternoon , anyone for memory lane ?:

@wissox I was a Freshman at Pratt JUCO and we got to play a Scooter Barry led KU jv team just before the KU Louisville gane. We (the Beavers) actually won the game quite handily. Found out later that the coach for that jv squad was a Grad Assistant named Bill Self! So I’m wondering if it’s wrong to tell people that I was on a team that beat a Bill Self coached Kansas team in AFH! LOL!!

That's a great story!

Two trials, similar and different • Nov 21, 2021 05:08 PM

The prosecution overreached in the Rittenhouse trial, that's my opinion. That and all of the actors in the drama were antagonists/protagonists - so the jury came to the only verdict that it could. Don't know enough about the Arbery case to really have an opinion.

Chiefs • Nov 21, 2021 05:02 PM

It will be a challenge for sure, Dak is playing his ass off. But I think we'll pull it off, are playing in Arrowhead afterall.

Has anyone had one yet? Any side effects different from the first or second shot? I wanted one before I went home for some of the holidays since my parents and grandparents are older (and my mom doesn’t want the vaccine which is a WHOLE other ball of wax).

I just got mine. It’s a funny story. One of my best friends is a pharmacist and she was operating an off-site clinic today. She had 3 leftover boosters that expired tonight so she called me this afternoon and told me to come over and get one in her kitchen. So there I went to do a sketchy-looking drug deal.

But, as they say, #ShotsInArms

That's funny. Yeah, had my booster, no ill effects. Got my flu and pneumonia shots too.

Toads • Nov 21, 2021 04:53 PM

When Coach has mostly his own players and some depth, we'll be tough. Next year, five or six wins isn't out of the realm of possibilty.

Good OC? Yeah. Head coach? Nope. Where is Herman when you need him?

@Oldmanhawk said in Well kind of boring afternoon , anyone for memory lane ?:

David Magley from the corner…..swish!! I remember how he would hit that shot and then run back with both arms raised. One of my favorite teams was in’86 with Hunter, Kellogg, Thompson, Manning and Dreiling. Got to see that team beat Louisville with Never Nervous Pervis Ellison in AFH. Pretty sure both teams went to the FF that year with Louisville cutting down the nets

Oh yeah, the '86 team was a beast.

Non-KU Games • Nov 20, 2021 10:20 PM

@nwhawkfan I liked Jerod as a player too, but he's not doing well at Stanford. Hard school to recruit kids to, but that can't be the entire reason. It's not like the Pac12 has been stacked the entire time he's been there.

Too bad we couldn't switch victories in that year, huh? Both went to the Final Four, and Louisville did win the title.

Adonis Jordon, Rex Walters, Alonzo Jamison, Mark Randall, Downtown Terry Brown and, drumroll, Eric Pauley.

I'd take Marcus on this year's team in a second. He could have gone back to being a junkyard dog wing. That said, great decision for him to start getting regular checks.

Had Garrett come back though, KU may not have Remy or Pettiford on the roster which completely changes the outlook of this team because of that.

I said the same. Had he returned, I don't believe that either of them would be playing for us.

@BShark Bobby and Zach are future NBAers, they have to play. Adams needs to play too imo

I think Zach has a real chance because of his jumper. When it's THAT good it outweighs a lot of other things. He does have a ways to go but I think he can get there.

Bobby to me looks like a pro but not NBA.

Disagree on KJ at this point, don't think he has been very good at all he's just athletic. I think he is worth developing but he isn't offering much this year.

Serious? You don't think that Adams deserves some pt? Man, I must have been watching the games wrong or something. I think that needs to play too.
