Well we started out really well then some questionable rotation change

This whole NIL fiasco how it's changing the game - -we have seen some of the Foundational/Seasoned Coach's walking away because of things such as this NIL and rule changes /portal and such.

I just wonder , Coach Self how long ? --We know it's coming , sooner then what some may believe , sooner then some want , not soon enough for some. He has mentioned he is on the back nine, not all the way yet, but on the back nine.

I had thought he qaa probably good for five years yet. Now ?--- not so much , I think Bill is another HOF Coach that really is tired of the BS. With these Coach's walking away big reason with the way College ball is changing - -Jay Wright - -Jim Boheim-- - - Coach K- -and a few others, they just don't want to put up with it anymore. --Coach has said he wants to be able to have time to spend his life with the Wife/ Cindy ? Travel - -and enjoy his Grand kids-- - I just beginning to think Coach is gone more likely then not in two years- - give two more then done, thta's what I'm thinking now.

We think we have it bad here with the way the Season is going -- You ought to see what's going on with Arkansas, they sound about like our fan base does = and there too this fricken NIL is causing major issues,- -People saying that certain players are just not good fit -- players not playing to their capabilities -most of these problems are revolving around NIL.- - Some saying Coach Cal is past his prime, the new era of College Basketball has passed him up , Cal not being able to adapt

Has the new era of the game passes Coach Self by?- -is Bill past his prime ? - -being stuck some say by his not rotating the right players ?- -Two years , Two that's my call now

Do you really think for one second that players like the # 1 recruit this coming Season AJ/ Ba would seriously commit to BYU without BYU throwing limitless NIL at him he would land there ? - - Coleman Hawkins would be at K/State ? - -and even Dickinson here ? - -pssst come on surely your not going to say that -- The amount of players in it for the NIL and NIL only far out weighs anything such as you quote BS they don't give a rats ass and is ruining the College game. @Crimsonorblue22 Got to agree with you here, Dave in his late JR year and then his Sr season was solid -rebounded petty decent -and always good for 9-10 points per, which is all w really needed as long as the others were carrying their share in the game

@approxinfinity -- Was listening to a K/State pod cast this afternoon, see what they were saying about the game and they were talking, you remembe sky walker for them way back when don't you ?- - thought he had a good point he was talking about NIL and how players have become more about money then wanting to represent the name on the front and the back of their Jersey. He was saying these guys don't give a rats ass like they did back in the day - -it's all about the Money now.

They don't have it in them where they want to rebound or play defense, they just want the money. It was like he was saying when him an Beasaley was playing Clent Stewert was also playing and they talked about leadership- - if a team came down and scored three times in a row, timeout-- -he said a lot of times Coach would just walk away from the huddle and Clent would say ok now , now we need three stops in a row, being that leader.

Huge , Huge weekend on this Jr day -- the other scouting service has Premer as the # 1 ) player and Dunnigan 2nd - -But he is coming and he is going to be with our three in state commits Higgins-- -Dunnigan -- & Mason - -rumor has it we have a GREAT shot at this kid , Synder coming in- -Several big time recruits coming in

The talk has been for some time that we are on the verge of a top 25 class for 26 and been said people saying this is the year that KU has been mentioned for just cleaning up with a great class- can't wait.- -Thing is long time till December of 2025 going to have to hang on to guys once committed but looks great.- -- K ? Lance got us to back to back bowls and how long had that been before Lance- -What was our roster count BEFORE Lance showed - low enough one year we couldn't even have a spring game

These kids before didn't want to come to play for some crappy low football program and be part of a laughing stock of College football.- -Now they see commitment from the staff, look what's getting done Weight room huge upgrade- - New stadium instead of what the hell ever that thing was- -we are starting to be able to get into the Kansas recruits win them over, where before wasn't even going to the Schools to try and recruit high quality players- - ya we had a bad Season but wasn't because of a shit show, it was where the defense couldn't maintain leads for one thing- -I'm telling you this defense is on the verge of being nasty from the efforts and results Lance is getting -- -I'm ready for football, good to see a competitive team again, be able to go watch College football in Larwrence again instead of a circus where the Captains use to say OK name your score at how bad we were getting our ass kicked on a weekly basis- - Lance is doing just fine

@BeddieKU23 100 % correct, they feel they haven't been given a decent chance - - now here is the time for them to prove themselves, show that they can. I mean we know they can but yet just haven't let it go. Maybe now knowing less chance of getting yanked at their first mistake/bad play they can focus more now on the game instead of worrying about getting pulled. @BeddieKU23 I agree probably with you on 99% , I also think in a lot of these bigger , more intense games these guys get sped up, which is not good. They get caught up with better more athletic players and then turns into a cluster F - - - , Has to be changes BUT were not going to see it --Coach has that bull headed streak in him, which is not good.

I'm still a huge fan of Coach but dam got to fix this as much as i hate to say the article I read and then posted the thread here titled about harsh was spot on.- -I think coach has to turn that leash lose and let these guys go. - - How can a kid feel comfortable/confident when he spends more time looking over at the scorers table every time he makes a mistake, worried about getting yanked,

Dam straight does it suck mistakes are being made? -- hell ya it does, but we see mistakes galore from Dickinson -- even Juan and yet you don't see either getting yanked out in a flash- -let these kids play through the mis mistake and learn- - the mistake is in the past and move on There is no way a player can focus on his game- - -and play to his capability if he is scared to death the first time he screws up he is getting yanked.

All your doing with that approach is destroying any self confidence the kid may have to where he becomes a shell of himself and then what?- -Plus you can believe this or not BUT sooner or later this kind of happenings is going to get out and players aren't going to want to come play here and go through this bullshit --you don't think if another player who is considering KU if they talk to AJ and or Griffen or whoever and ask how their experience here and playing for Coach Self was, you don't think they won't say it sucked and your an idiot if you come and go through this- --Ha guess again

@approxinfinity I for sure think it would be a vey interesting line up - -a change. Thought the article was a pretty level write, I think many , many people are feeling this, not just us here. Seeing similar articles elsewhere, seeing it in other KU sites. So here we are kind of in some unsettled waters, who ever thought we would see a time where decisions of our Coach - -Bill Self would start getting questioned and now getting more frequent a lot of times ? I mean the success he has had over the years could this be ? makes you wonder a question comes into play Was some players we had before , was they just more talented with athletic ability to cover up playing time on the floor then these guys now?- - Were they more athletic ? -- Well read this article this morning and it brought out some pretty good points- some which ha already been mentioned here and while kind of harsh maybe but yet it's the truth & the truth can hurt sometimes. Some highlights that wasa said in the article:

They said KU Basketball suffered an embarrassing loss to Iowa St in a performance beyond a simple bad night.- -" True "- saying the Jayhawks just didn't simply lose , this wasn't just a loss - - - -it was a loud and should be a clear wake-up call. -- The Jayhawks just didn't lose -Listen good point # one : ( Fact ) - they were outplayed- - -they were OUT COACHED- - and they were exposed -now I say this certainly not the first time this year they have been exposed,

It needs to be time that Coach Self take a hard look at this rotation and make some serious changes , now they talk about those changes

KJ ADAMS : -GOD only knows I love KJ how can't you BUT ? - like they said KJ gives great effort but hurts the offense nobody questions KJ'S energy and heart BUT the offense looks stuck when he is on the floor. Here now Iowa St just like others once again packed the paint with KJ in and dared KU to shoot over them , knowing KJ doesn't stretch the floor.it needs to be time for Coach to refuce his minutes or use him more selectively in defensive situations.

Dickinson :Dickinson was suppose to dominate the Big 12, I've talked about this so certainly not just me and just like I've said they bring out in the Article :He looks slow- - he IS slow - -he looks slow and wore down he struggled to keep up with Iowa State pace main while Flory came off the bench and brought energy Dickinson could benefit more from shorter stints on the floor to stay fresh

Next - Juan -- they said Juan is the Heartbeat of the team , but something is off. He has been hesitant to shoot, maybe but thats always been the case. His turnovers are creeping up he just doesn't look himself , last night he had seven assists but he couldn't control the tempo or spark the team if they can give him a reduced role or at least share the playmaking load with Zeke might help him out of it.

They talk about Diggy & AJ not cutting it :Talking about AJ being inconsistent on both ends of the floor

They mention how Griffen & Shakeel need more minutes , Talking about how Rylan can hit the Big Shoots- -can't do that if he i sitting by Coach & Shak plays with the energy that KU needs , both players bring a spark whenever they are on the floor they have earned the right to play more.

Then they talk about Zeke : talking about if there is one guy that Ku can count on right now it's Zeke. His Scoring , playmaking and confidence it's Zeke, which is exactly what this team needs Self should think about building the offense more around Zeke while pairing him with Griffen , Moore , 7 Flory being able to maximize spacing and energy.- -They even talked about Rakease- talking about giving him a real look hasn't had much of a chance to prove himself but at this point what does KU have to lose ?- - you don't know until given an extended chance.- His athleticism & upside could inject life into this team.

Bottom line is , The pieces are therre for KU to be great, but the current rotation is just not working. Coach needs to shake things up-- and quick. - -If he can lean into the players that can bring energy & production they could turn things around ,BUT if he sticks with the same old lineup it could be a long Season in Lawrence That will bring my questions- - more frequently , and more seriously about Coach and his thinking.- -Pretty good points

So here is this - -Both teams shoot identical FG % for the game 40.9 %- -24/59. Big reason for this loss ISU five less turnovers m and Fourteen free throw advantage of made- -18/4 - -no reason for this -- these are FREE POINTS your opposition is giving you-- -they are FREE for God's sakes.-- & getting beat by ten rebounds with our 7'2 guy-- NICE--No Excuses, time to stand up and represent the name written on the Jersey- -you play like a pile then be willing to admit-- I played like crap - - No Excuses-- time to get your ass in gear-- How Dickinson ever got mentioned as a possible Big Twelve player of the year/All American- -WHERRE I don't see it, if that's an All American then something is fixed & if he is then play like an All American against quality opponents not just Cream Puff University

@patoh3 Bottom line is we need to try and getting looking for excuses for getting beat and some of these players just flat getting beat on defense and just not having their heads in the game - -Time to stand up and be accounted for you play piss poorly then you should be willing to take accountability for the poor play

There will be people here come Saturday that will think everything with Dickinson is just fine when he rebounds with an effort like 20 & 12 and people will say see everything is fine- - ummm NO - -NO it's not , Dickinson I'll say once again is slow ---so slow , and every time he comes up against another Big that's close to his size and athletic count him out he is a no show does nothing - -once again NO VERTICAL gets beat on defense , complains about every call- -Dickinson is NOT Athletic at all,- -What Hunter is -- -is Big- -Bulky- -and a very slow non athletic even his post moves are slow and methodical. Dickinson may not be our main problem but he for sure is a problem
