Sounds like Carr is going to end up at Texas. They will be absolutely loaded. Consensus top 5 entering the season.
Kentucky has a lot of talent this year. It will be interesting to see how they rebound from that dumpster fire of last year.

A couple guys KU is still on in that vein are Bryce Hamilton of UNLV (both sides interested if he doesn't have a great pro option) and Pelle Larsson. Utah is trying to re-recruit Larsson (new coach) and it is believed that KU and Arizona are the main two potential transfer destinations.

If Ochai and Wilson both do not come back next year is not going to be very much fun. I am pretty dissapointed in how Self handled the portal. Seems like we should have been able to land much better talent then we did.

True. It seems nobody knows. I haven’t seen the GL rumor in a couple weeks though. I just hope it does end in the next 7-10 days so Bill and staff can celebrate or move on. Still plenty of talent in the portal , but the longer his recruitment draws out the more the portal talent will dry up.

Consensus #1 overall play Chet Holmgren announcing tomorrow on Sportscenter. Appears it will be Gonzaga. There was some G-League talk but as of now sounds like he will announce for Zags. I’d assume with Sallis this will give them the #1 overall class for next year as well.

I get that guys go pro for different reasons, but there is not one reputable draft expert that has Ochai even getting drafted. Chad Ford just released his top 65 prospects and he nor Wilson were listed. It just seems insane to me that he is going to go to the combine ( if he gets invited) and be told he will not be drafted and keep his name in.

@BShark Yep. On a normal Self team Harris never sees the floor and in all honestly is probably never recruited by Bill.

KU officially offered Bishop from Creighton. That’s a interesting offer to me. He’s not really a player this team needs next year IMO. I’m not really sure how he fits .

I would think we hear about who is leaving our program next week if not possibly today. With so many transfers out there it is best to toss your name in the hat ASAP. With the way Self is out recruiting we obviously know someone / multiple players are leaving. Just a matter of who and how many.

His Son got the job at UNLV. That is part of the reason he is retiring. Wants to move back to Vegas to be closer to his Son and his family.
Not trying to rag on current players but I’d be very surprised if Gethro ever played meaningful minutes in a KU uniform. I see him as a definite candidate to transfer this year.
