Just guessing here, but I think we'll be 4 to 5 point favorites.

I would be shocked if that is the spread. I would guess Duke -2 or 3

Heard on the stream last night that MJ Rice is or has been injured. Anybody know what he is dealing with? He's another big wing player, but his availability is in question.

They said he was a full go for practice on Sunday. Was his first one in awhile, and was available to play last night if needed. I bet we see him log some minutes on Thursday.

Bowl bound! • Nov 07, 2022 09:17 PM

What a year. It has been so much fun to watch this team grow and compete this year. Lance and the coaches have done something absolutely remarkable. Three more games though. Would be nice to pick up another win or two.

Self narrates title game • Nov 07, 2022 09:16 PM

Read this article this morning. It is well worth your time and 1$ per month subscription fee. CJ does an amazing job writing about KU and the Big 12 all year long. I am holding out hope that with the successes the football team is having they will hire someone that writes about them.

Jayhawks in the NBA -- 2022 • Nov 01, 2022 08:18 PM

Anyone know what happened to Ben McLemore? He doesn't appear to be on any rosters and was wondering if he was hurt or what?

@jayballer67 officially sold out as of about 8:10 tonight

IARP update • Sep 29, 2022 12:42 PM

@Gorilla72 Yes, he is back out recruiting.

2023 Recruiting • Sep 25, 2022 01:42 PM

This seemed like an out of the no where commit.

@Kcmatt7 It is a shitty job only because of the expectations. They have unlimited money, facilities, in the richest conference, etc... There are obviously a lot of things to like about the job. However, it will take someone that can handle the donors and expectations.

I don't think Lance is the first choice for them, but I bet he is in the 6-10 range. If they get turned down by Urban, Campbell, Rhule, Stoops, and then come a calling with 5-7M per year he is going.

Chiefs Moving? • Jul 07, 2022 07:34 PM

I have a hard time believing this. They are going to have to invest millions of dollars to host the World Cup. I can’t imagine they just flush that money dow. The toilet and move a couple years later. Also, Arrowhead is a huge part of Lamar’s legacy. I just can’t see Clark tearing it down and moving on. I’ll personally be absolutely shocked if the Chiefs move.

2022 Transfer Portal Thread • May 02, 2022 06:54 PM

@BShark I like that he said he will most likely wait until May as well. I am sure he wants to wait and see how the dust settles with NBA guys, but it obviously works out quite well for KU.

Chiefs Draft • Apr 28, 2022 05:16 PM

Those are definitely the 3 positions they need target. I haven't decided if I am in favor of trading up or not. Obviously it would depend on who they got, but they have more holes to fill then they have had in a long time. I think if they could trade up using just 1 of the first round picks that would be ideal.

Jameson Williams is my dream pick, but I think it is just that a dream.

@Woodrow Bill has been down to Wichita personally for him more than once... This kind of player is his kryptonite...

I still don’t see why Bill would take him unless it was late in the cycle and needed another body. He doesn’t fill any role that we currently need. Seems really odd to me.

Martin and Cuffe

Elite 8 Chat • Mar 26, 2022 09:38 PM

I think KU would rather play Nova as well. Houston is really good.

Latest odds seen today. • Mar 26, 2022 02:02 PM

538 has KU as the overall favorite to win at 24%. Houston is second at 22%. Duke and Arkansas both at 14%.

Bobby Pettiford Done For The Year • Feb 24, 2022 09:59 PM

If they beat Baylor and win out. I would be all for playing a lot of bench players in the first round of the Big 12. They would have a 1 seed locked up, and it wouldn't matter.

When Remy makes it back... • Feb 16, 2022 05:36 PM

With the rescheduling of the TCU game they have a really condensed schedule at the end of the year going into the Big 12 tournament. I’m afraid they are just simply going to wear out down the stretch.

Self is going to have to play Joe and Zach more minutes.

When Remy makes it back... • Feb 16, 2022 01:17 PM

KU needs to Remy to come back. Bobby is hurt and should not be playing and Joe is not a PG. They need someone to be able to come in and give Juan a rest. There is no way Juan should play 37-39 MPG. Remy can score and this team desperately needs someone on the bench who can do that.

I’m not convinced he is going to come back, but I am still holding out hope. At least for another week or so.

Tejas Game Thread • Feb 09, 2022 09:09 PM

The way a lot of fans have turned on this team and or talk bad about it blows my mind. I actually enjoy watching this team. They are not great defensively, but other than the Kentucky game they have been in every game. They have battled back numerous times from being down to come back and win games. The funny thing is all the analytic sites say this is a good team.

Post WV game thoughts • Jan 18, 2022 09:35 PM

@Kcmatt7 The KU hoops twitter account tweeted a short video of the afternoon shoot around and he was in it. Obviously that could mean nothing as well when it comes to dressing out and playing.

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 11, 2022 09:48 PM

@Kcmatt7

This. Remy is not healthy right now. Anyone can see that while watching him play and the minutes or lack of minutes he is logging. Of course everyone would like to see Remy be more assertive, but until he is healthy we are not going to see that.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 08:13 PM

@BShark said in Red Raiders:

I will say it is interesting that KU is only favored by 4 and a half while Tech is without their two best players. Anyone got Kenpom premium to see what the line is there? Like these things have to be factoring this in right?

I heard Gary Parrish say it was KU -1. I thought it would be closer to 7 without those two so I agree it is interesting. It has since moved to 5.5 though.

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 05, 2022 01:12 PM

We just won a road game in a place where we historically struggle by double digits while missing 20 straight shots. Was it ugly at times , yes it was. But guess what… that’s conference play on the road.

Remy still isn’t 100% and I think that is why he wasn’t very aggressive last night.

Chiefs • Dec 23, 2021 08:40 PM

Ward and Jones came back today. Sounds like they are expecting to get more back by the Saturday deadline.

Colorado game Canceled game thread • Dec 23, 2021 08:38 PM

There was a quote from Self afterwards that said he and Tad Boyle decided to wait until 5:45 to make a final decision. Both coaches wanted to play. Tad said they would have played if they only had 7 players. It just didn't work out. Not sure why KU fans would care.

NBA draft 2022 • Dec 23, 2021 08:33 PM

@Kcmatt7 Gotta agree. If he keeps playing like this he will creep into the first round. Will suck to lose him, but if he does keep playing like this then KU will be a final 4 team. I also have to think Self will be recruiting the portal for s replacement.

Turg out, Danny named interim at UMd • Dec 05, 2021 01:58 PM

@BeddieKU23 said in Takeaways from Game #1:

Agbaji trending as a 1st round pick after his career high 29 pts on Tuesday. Hopefully he continues to play like that and gets PAID

Givony from ESPN updated his mock this morning and Ochai came in at #23. Pretty big jump for him.

First Impressions from last night • Nov 04, 2021 08:49 PM

I was mostly impressed with the team last night. They are way more athletic than last years team and teams in the recent past. It was nice to watch a team albeit against ESU run the fast break with ease and get easy buckets.

I was not impressed with Cam Martin at all. I am not sure what he is going to add to this team. Hopefully we do not have to play Mitch, and I would play KJ at the four some. I was very impressed with his floor awareness and what he brought to the game. I think it is obvious we are going to play 4 guards which is great as this team is deep at that position.

It will be fascinating to see how Self handles the playing time this year with all the talent he has. I think Cuffe and Clemence RS.

I really looking forward to the game against Sparty. Should be a fun one.

JCL • Nov 02, 2021 09:44 PM

Saw a early Vegas line had KU -6 for the Sparty game.

2021 Recruiting • Oct 21, 2021 11:52 AM

I saw that as well, and good for him. My question is how come none of our players are getting any deals. I know there have been a few small ones , but we need Crown Chevrolet or someone else to step it up. For as big as KU basketball is and what it brings to the local economy you’d think there would
be some more deals besides Ochai getting free food at Johnnys.

I have a good buddy that said he went back to the office for ONE week and then they went remote again.

Bates isn’t old enough for the 2022 draft so he basically has to make a 2 year decision. I saw a lot of speculation yesterday after he made the decision to reclassify that he might go to college for 1 year and then the G-League for 1 year.

NBA Free Agency • Aug 03, 2021 11:56 AM

Svi, Markieff, and Dotson are also FA’s to go along with Oubre. Technically Frank is as well , but I just don’t see him making a roster and or getting signed. He would be best served to go the Euro route and make some money while he can.

I am interested to see if anyone signs Dotson.

Svi should get a nice raise and a decent contract in the coming days.
