Sitting down here in NW Arkansas I've scoped out the more respected outlets. I haven't seen any disrespect. But most see a close game with an experienced KU squad winning 74-70. I agree but we have seen both teams reserve the right to get blown out at any time.
The pundits see the rim defenders and strong rebounding as a solid advantage over KU. Also this team has been touted as the most talented since the mid 90's hogs.
I'm sending/asking my wife to go play slots. She likes KU but not as much as the Hogs and she goes to bed early when they play like "Igits" (see Bugs bunny talking about Elmer Fudd). It's been January since I set my new WTF's record but I have changed my meds since then.
I am pumped up and even cleaned the bathrooms today. That means I'll have a good chance to get lucky tonight either way.
The first two days have shown us there are a lot of good players that are not in the power five conferences. Lots of big guys.
Kentucky and Providence both shoot 36% from the field. Lousy just lousy.
Now the S in ISU will be known as ...?

It took me 300 words to say the same thing you just did. Lol.
Not the best match up but a challenge we can handle if everyone gets involved. They are very good but not great.
I'm not familiar with the Illini this year but I've watched the hogs about 20 times.
They don't have a Jalen or Gradey or Juan or McCuller.
They do have plenty of D1 pieces that make for a funny looking jigsaw. They scored 71 points on two assists. WTF? They play hard on their M2M defense. When they get hot shooting the ball they can beat anyone but can look like crap and shoot around 35-40. Not a three point threat very often. Good defender and rebounder in Black a 6'7" point guard who Gradey can't guard. Smith, Jr can't guard worth a darn but is super quick on offense and a mid range game but Juan can handle him. Ricky Council IV is a slasher and loves to dunk. Devo Davis is a fast guard who can play excellent defense but is a so so shooter. Jordan Walsh a lanky and tough small forward who is not a big scorer but a good defender who fouls a lot. All these will hurt you on the fast break if you turn it over or miss a lot of shots. Inside guys are twin brothers about 6'9 or 10' who are athletic and good on defense who like to mix it up and get their points on put backs. All will hit you hard on defense. It may be a long night for Udeh and KJ but we always say that. They will try to get to the rim and draw fouls.
I just want to see the Jayhawks handle them and see if they can handle us.

Saw something new from Rice in the Texas game as when he was called for a charge and, questionable at that, he just exploded to the rim and slammed it in protest. The fire is there but it's masked by him.

When we have lost in the tourney and we're getting whipped without being able to overcome the deficit there are two or three ways I have observed player reactions during the games. One - those who hesitate or back away, Two - those who just go through the motions and Three - those who show no fear and attack. Some of the recent players in the number three group I noticed were Josh Jackson, Frank Mason and Svi who showed no fear. Looking at this year's team who would you include from the season so far? I'm saying JWill, Kevin and Gradey with KJ and Juan showing frustration and appearing negative. My watching habits would put me in the frustration and negative category Lol.
We are not a pick your poison opponent this year. If the most dangerous person in basketball, Grad3y Dick, is put in maximum security each first half then we better have Kevin and our defense on high alert please.
No doubt we opened that door.

Bottom line: You play the game in front of you, one at a time. We only play 4 teams out of the 15 others in our bracket, and only 1 from the other half. Might win out, might not! Enjoy it!!!
Even the game announcers call us Kansas State.
The huge money making conference tourneys are only a big deal because of the automatic bids potential for lesser teams.

I've watched all of the Razorback games this year in my role as a dutiful hubby. If we can force 20 turnovers and rebound no problem, Actually out of the match ups this one would be okay because they are not averse to 25 point first halves either.

When we are able to hold teams off we get up by about seven until they wear down. It's not a dominating type team but we can beat anyone as we have shown. I can also see us getting dominated by a long and hot team and shooting 40 percent all game. It will take heroic stuff to get to the final four.
