Was that a behind the back pass by Grimes 3 feet away on the baseline?

I spoke with @JayHawkFanToo . He's doing ok, just needed a break to focus on other things.

@approxinfinity I wish you could have seen him in person. He seemed far bigger than that.
Even by today's standards, 6'7 is a giant for a DE.. Found some kids project where he analyzed averages by position:
* QB- Avg. Height: 75.43 in Avg. Weight: 224.97 lbs
* RB- Avg. Height: 70.73 in Avg. Weight: 214.48 lbs
* WR- Avg. Height: 72.40 in Avg. Weight: 200.32 lbs
* TE- Avg. Height: 76.54 in Avg. Weight: 254.26 lbs
* FB- Avg. Height: 72.33 in Avg. Weight: 244.43 lbs
* OL- Avg. Height: 76.75 in Avg. Weight: 314.16 lbs
* DB- Avg. Height: 71.69 in Avg. Weight: 200.10 lbs
* LB- Avg. Height: 74.04 in Avg. Weight: 244.64 lbs
* DE- Avg. Height: 75.82 in Avg. Weight: 278.99 lbs
* DT- Avg. Height: 75.22 in Avg. Weight: 308.97 lbs
* K- Avg. Height: 72.19 in Avg. Weight: 202.58 lbs
* P- Avg. Height: 73.77 in Avg. Weight: 214.32 lbs
* LS- Avg. Height: 74.48 in Avg. Weight: 243.76 lbs
Thats 3+ inches over the average DE now. They're all monsters in weight now. But for the 80's Art Still must have looked like a mountain to a middle schooler! Cool story.
@Fightsongwriter 6'7 253? Huge!

He could be our best player next season. Or he could have Newman impact in the tourney (or something short of that, but still excellent -- Newman was psycho in the tourney).
Maybe next year's tourney. Having just watched Newman highlights from last year's tourney ... That is a TALL order. The dude was unbelievably money. I don't think Newman ever doubted himself (ever). I'm afraid Grimes doubts himself.
@kjayhawks I don't know. That NBA 3 is deep, and the game is so focused on the 3, I wonder if some of the great guards just wouldn't be considered great now if they couldn't hit the 3. We assume they could all adjust to that range.

@approxinfinity I think what Westbrook did a couple years ago tempered the Big O talk.
Interesting. Makes sense.
FWIW. here's the KC gov site's explanation of the events http://kcmo.gov/health/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2018/11/FreeHotSoupandSafeFoodHandlingFAQs.pdf ↗
Question. I've learned a lot about Wilt on this site, but I wonder if people who remember can expound on how good Oscar Robertson was? He's often listed in the greatest conversation (though less as much recently). Is there a reason he's fallen out of the conversation? How would his game translate to today's NBA?
Here's a nice recent memory going into Saturdays Blueblood clash.

@HighEliteMajor this light switch turning on for Garrett really has been a revelation. So great!
As to the teardrop I agree completely and don't hold out hope this season. Not sure he will ever integrate it because I'm pretty sure this shot falls in the "touch" bucket to a degree as well. He needs to recognize when his shot needs to change, in real time. There was a shot he took about 4 or 5 games ago where he threw the ball down at the basket from about 5 feet out. Like Jamari, it looked like an athlete performing a non basketball move. It would have been the perfect place for the teardrop.
I'll trust Self. the quote is compelling.Agbaji seems to be thriving in his role. We can criticize further after a tournament exit where one of the wings doesn't produce lol :trollface:
On the next play, an opponent caught his 5th foul on a Garrett drive. Coincidence?
@Bosthawk you're right. Selden seems like a stretch at this point. Hopefully Grimes can get Hudyized effectively.

@HighEliteMajor I also think ochai will learn what he can't do too from last night.
I also think the refs will learn what Ochai CAN do without fouling.

@BShark any reason why Mitch didn't play at all?
Not good at basketball.
If Mitch can't hit a 3 there really is very little time for him in the 4-1. What can Mitch do that Garrett or Big Dave can't do better?
@JayHawkFanToo where are you ?

I'm so glad we didnt giftwrap the Big 12 for Iowa State tonight. Send the ketchup and mayo boys home hungry.
@DanR Word, I probably missed the bulk of his minutes when I had to rock baby. Need to rewatch the turnaround 2nd half.

haha, happy Bill.
@Crimsonorblue22 you undefeated?
It should not be impossible to bottle up what we did in the TCU game and what we did in the last 16 here and reproduce. Marcus going to the hole is really solid, Dedric is the same dude we've had all year, plus his 3pt% is starting to normalize. Dotson is still lightning fast and has a ton of upside if he's encouraged to hold on to the keys and run the offense. Ochai won't foul out next time, Grimes had a bad game, we didn't even use DMack, and Charlie and KJ didnt have enough time on the floor to do anything to be meaningful either good or bad. This is very reproducable with a lot more upside to it.
We evened the rebound differential in 2nd half, and we improved our FG%.
