KC vs SEATTLE Game 2 • Jul 05, 2017 03:23 AM

@brooksmd Seeing the ball big right now, looks like. That pitch was a mistake and he knew it was a home run before he even hit it.

KC vs SEATTLE Game 2 • Jul 05, 2017 02:18 AM

What's this I hear about Moose having the most home runs for a Royal before the All Star break with 23? The guy must be killing it.

I know but yet guys • Jul 05, 2017 12:45 AM

@jayballer54 happy fourth man. I'm sorry to hear about your wife. Will be thinking about her and hope she pulls through.

I appreciate your focus and positively about Mitch. He passed the eye test for me last year as a guy that just needed to put on some off season muscle. Then I think @Kcmatt7 said people were talking about how he was looking pretty rough in practice and I scaled back expectations a bit. Your positivity is reminding me that on the big stage he competed and there's something to be said for that. I will be pulling for him and hope he's been hitting the hell out of the weight room. What's the word on that?

@wissox Yeah, no. :) You can have Victor Robles or Spencer Kieboom.

@DoubleDD :+1: thanks bud. I think we all know each other well enough to know when its time to cool it and move on. It's pretty great that we've been able to stay pretty democratic about it.

@globaljaybird aww man. Thanks bud. I'm sorry I've been coveting my neighbor's closer (Herrera). And that I've been just as salty about our Commander in Cheese. But at the end of the day, I'm glad for the salt, because we don't just posture on here. It's weird times we live in man, but I have good news. I did watch an O's broadcast the other day when the Nats weren't on. And I'm happy to say that it appears that the state of Maryland is stuck in the 90's. I became an adult in the 90's, so that'll always be my decade. I knew New Jersey was stuck in the 80's, but didn't realize that time had stopped it's forward march in Maryland sometime circa 1996. So I might just start watching a bit more of the Baltimore Oranges.

@KirkIsMyHinrich thanks for the month over month numbers. One day they will be sorry. I have no doubt.

@dylans I would love to play Michigan State twice or three times a year. That's Bill Self's toughening box!

Twins vs Royals • Jul 02, 2017 03:16 AM

My Nats' historically bad bullpen choked up another loss. Down 1-0, first pitch by Sammy Solis in the 9th to a guy on his MLB debut.. Dinger. Then our amazing offense, predictably, scores one in the bottom, down 2-1, bases loaded with 2 outs, Dusty decides it's our turn to have a guy on his MLB debut step up to the plate (?!?) And the kid works to a full count, then gets a pitch outside, but Yadier Molina stands up and pumps his fist before the ump makes the call and the ump calls it Strike 3! What a crock!

Consolidation of Power • Jul 01, 2017 04:34 AM

@mayjay Maybe all this consolidation is related to the contraction of the universe and it's just our perception that it is still expanding.

Consolidation of Power • Jul 01, 2017 04:25 AM

...The media wants a college power 5.
Donald Trump wants less checks and balances.
Walmart buys jet.com.
Amazon buys Whole Foods.
NBA stars want to be on one of a handful of teams that have a higher tier of talent...

Consolidate, consolidate, consolidate.

@Red.Rooster Thanks for the update. With the constant likes I think about you all the time, and I'm glad @Crimsonorblue22 had the good thought to ask and you gave us the scoop. You're a saint to like some of the garbage I/we post. You're not only a loving husband but you appear to love your fellow man, even on our bad days. Thanks for that. It softens the edges around here.

Another reason to dislike LeBron • Jul 01, 2017 03:14 AM

It just means that anytime LeBron is involved, everyone around him is dispensible, just another asset, even the other stars. I have no idea if he has a personality problem with him.

Another reason to dislike LeBron • Jun 30, 2017 11:57 PM

Why not build around Kyrie? LBJ and Love for PG and DJ in 3 way trade. Then get athletic 3 and D for first rounder.

  • Kyrie
  • JR
  • Green / Roberson
  • PG
  • DJ

Jackson most certainly would have been tradebait if he had gone to Boston. Phoenix seems a better place than Indiana or Utah. There's nothing to do in Utah! ;)

2018 NBA Draft • Jun 26, 2017 01:21 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I didn't see where they were shopping the #3 pick. If that's true then you're right.

New guys • Jun 26, 2017 01:01 PM

@mayjay lol. well, you might have the "get worse" gene ;)

2018 NBA Draft • Jun 26, 2017 01:01 PM

Also, on the flipside, maybe LA saw Josh as a threat and wanted him in the East, hoping Boston would take him.

2018 NBA Draft • Jun 26, 2017 12:45 PM

Maybe the fact that that trade didn't happen supports the possibility that Josh and Phoenix had an understanding prior to his canceling the Celtics workout.

2018 NBA Draft • Jun 26, 2017 12:38 PM

In retrospect LA should have traded down to the 4 and taken Ball there if they could get Phoenix to bite. Suns probably still would have taken Josh at the 2 spot and may have taken the trade had they not known the Celts would take Tatum.

@jaybate-1-0 i enjoy your recollection of a young Frank, because while I didn't have the same impressions exactly, I can remember the gaps in his game you mention and they were valid. I think I was so ready to believe in a press breaking phenom that I didn't let myself doubt at the time. And then as you said, Bill Self saw the extraordinary potential and coaxed it out of Frank.

And @KUSTEVE, you're a good fan for having that same kind of faith in Marcus' potential. I watched some highlights of Jacobs too yesterday and of the the two, you are right, it is possible that Garrett could be the match up nightmare.

The guy who was telling me about Amari Mason's dribbling said this when trying to quantify how good it is: "when you see a kid that can dribble that well at that young an age you know they're going to be good at it their whole lives. It's just a natural skill".

New guys • Jun 26, 2017 03:29 AM

@jaybate-1.0 Good thought. With Mason I never had doubt about his dribbling. I was floored by how good it was in contrast to those that came before him. Decision making, yes, he needed some work.

Maybe... Maybe it's possible for Garrett to get better at dribbling but I don't know the comp. Can a 6'7 PG dribble well enough to beat good pressure? I think he has to have another guard that can help break pressure. Mason was able to dribble out of and through pressure if need be. I feel my argument here might have blinders on though. Maybe I'm not picturing what Garrett's ceiling could be. A better passing Tyshawn? Maybe quicker to peak form than Tyshawn as well?

New guys • Jun 25, 2017 10:36 PM

@KUSTEVE fun watch. It was only one team but he did appear to dominate. My concern is that EJ did have good handles. He just didn't make good decisions with the ball with pressure on him. Its possible that Garrett has lesser handles but makes better decisions under pressure.

What happens when Garrett runs into an ultra quick backcourt like Michigan in 2013? If he's our best ball handler I think we are toast. It's going to be Devonte or Jacobs bringing it up in that situation. Garrett won't be the primary.

New guys • Jun 25, 2017 08:23 PM

@KUSTEVE I like your high praise of the kid. My gut was that this kid was not going to play PG for us at his size, so where was he really going to get run? I just don't want to go back to Tyshawn / EJ brand of PG. Want to be able to handle pressure. But I need to ease up a bit. Watched his highlight films a bit more. He's got a nice 3 and can run a break. And I dig the attitude and work ethic. He can be a top notch 2 when Newman leaves.

Nothing new here. Seems they are insinuating that the Suns said something to Josh to change his mind... But just smoke.

@Crimsonorblue22 thanks for the reminder.

Whats going on Jayhawk fans? • Jun 24, 2017 03:27 PM

@Lulufulu Ahh, heading back before bball season. Yeah, lets do it! I' have a brother in Charlottesville that I never see enough of, so I'll see if I can find a time he's available to get together and then piggy back off that trip. Direct message me and we'll go from there.

Josh to Celtics #1? • Jun 23, 2017 02:17 PM

I agree that it's glue, but I agree with @Kcmatt7. If people want to keep going with it, it hasn't gotten out of control.

Whats going on Jayhawk fans? • Jun 23, 2017 12:50 PM

Right on man. I'm in the west side of Richmond, not too far from you. I reached out to a KU watch party group a couple weeks ago and got on their mailing list. Might try to meet up with them for a game or two this year. Want to help me recruit some new board rats?

Mason drafted 34th by Sacramento • Jun 23, 2017 12:21 PM

He's got Buddy Hield and Fox, two good kids. He's got two older short PGs to beat out on the roster in Collison and Lawson. I think the PT is there and the start of a younger core that Frank can help head up (assuming the front by office makes good decisions going forward).. Half the team is going to be younger than him. Maybe the dysfunction is a blessing in disguise if he gets a lot of PT.
