@jayballer73 nope
@BeddieKU23 exactly. D league for a bit. And then accross the Atlantic
Well ppl still think lawson is going to the league .. lol
Wow. Finished 2 layups in a row.
We're sandbagging for the final 8 min. We're gonna let them get tired and then we will start giving a shit..
Haha. Decide we're not even gonna try in the second half. Bold strategy cotton
Lol
@approxinfinity looked like it was headed there to me. Perhaps we can get a better half here. Doubt my attitude changes it either way. But I certainly wish I had that power 😋
Agreed. I refuse to believe he simply cannot jump
We haven't played hard enough defense for 1 damn minute total this year. No reason to have tired legs. At all
Dedric 2 of 10. Be nice if he would jump a lil... But no. I guess just keep letting everything short off the front iron. Working so far. Use the glass... Dunk the damn ball... Or god forbid do something that makes ya look remotely explosive
Give it a min or two
Well if we score 50 in the second half we may have a shot
Jumps high enough to block a shot... Won't jump an inch to shoot or dunk
Oh. You thought I was serious....
We're saving it all for the second half. Got them right where we want them...
Depends on how dirty he really is. If we ever find out that information
Burn.it.all.down.the.end.
@kjayhawks ya remember. Forrest Gump had it all along. Basketball is like a box of chocolates... You never what you're gonna get. So just be there and let the chips fall where they may. If you just do that... Somehow you'll be an elite program by the grace of God or something. Don't try. That's shits overrated. It really doesn't affect anything
@kjayhawks 10 times? For dunks or layups? Hmm . Bout 20 points there huh. Interesting.... Must have been sheer luck.
I mean if I was playing idk... Defense, and wanted to actually give effort I may have tried to stop the ball or get back in defensive position. But clearly wanting to do that isn't a thing. Obviously I should stand there like a bottle of piss and let luck and divine providence handle the outcome without trying to create a different result.
I'll damn well be the first one on here saying our kids are playing their hearts out on the nights they do. So no. "Wanting it more" is absolutely not just something for fans to complain about. It's absolutely real. And it translates to everything in life. Far beyond basketball
@DanR so you actually watched the game tonight. Decided that the KU players "wanted to win" as much as the OU players and then dismissed the result as OU was simply a better conglomeration of players. A better team. Is that right? Wow
Idk how to help anyone that thinks me working hard than them can't yield a more positive result. I mean that's the guy that shows up late to work, stands around half the day, and does nothing to improve his situation bitching about the neighbor who has a new truck, a nice house, a hot wife, and kids that aren't fuckups cause he actually has put effort into his life.
@DanR I have coached plenty of kids, most of which would tell you they miss having me as a coach. It isn't about screaming. It's about getting the maximum potential out of them. We beat and competed with a helluva lot of teams that had way more talent than us. I suppose it was just luck by your standards. Or then there's that other option. We simply worked harder. Talent without effort will not beat effort with a purpose.
If that's not a thing... Then why the cliche Grande's every year "KU is everyone's Superbowl" "we always get everyone's best shot" blah blah blah bullshit. What does that mean if not that? It means they tried to work harder and work as hard as they could to beat us cause we're KU. Not "oh we bottled all of our luck up all year for this one game". I mean wth
@bskeet it's both but let us not forget that chance favors the prepared mind.
Such a funny saying for something you don't believe exists. Even though it's proven over and over again throughout time. SMH. You think wanting it more is a cliche? Or damn me... Could it possibly mean doing more of the things that actual win... Focus, effort, energy, scouting, practice, fundamentals.... Things of that sort. Nah surely those things don't matter. If I work harder than you that absolutely can't mean that I want it more. Lol. Ridiculous
@bskeet no that isn't what it means. The streak was definitely accomplished by scratching and clawing for years against some stiff competition. And vs teams with players of the year and so on. It is not to diminish what's been done. It's how that actually was done. Lots and lots of effort. Which you didn't see largely this season. That's the point.
I mean seriously? This OU team is actually better than KU this season? And by 20 points? West Virginia is better than KU this season? Uh... No sir
@DanR we are subpar to the normfor this program yes. But we are not subpar to several of the teams we've lost to. Not even from a talent stand point. Look it up....
We lack many qualities that good teams have, talent not withstanding, but have failed to harness the controllable qualities of what makes a good TEAM.
4 freshman? Really? Sorry but that's an awful excuse. Look around the country sir... Clear back to the fab five.... And before anyone says "but they were paid" people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones
Very very proud of the streak. It was a phenomenal run. It's sad to see it end by losing to subpar teams rather than someone who is just plain better. But even more sad to see that it will probably actually end a year shy for ncaa violations.
@wissox we're all entitled to our own view bud. I respect you. But I don't buy that at all. You think Bill had top ten talent at Tulsa and Oral Roberts? How did he take those teams so far? It wasn't talent. It was fundamentals, defense, and effort. I don't care if this team loses. I'm not embarrassed by losing. It speaks to the character of team, the players, and the coaches to lose in that manner. That's my view
@wissox because as a fan I don't like to accept getting beat by a worse team that simply plays harder, focused more on the task at hand. And hell yes. Just plain wanted to win more. And make zero mistake. That is 100% absolutely what has happened tonight. And on several other occasions this season that has absolutely caused the end of the streak. Not bullshit excuses about being 5 for whatever from 3 or this guy's was out .. waaaa waaaa waaaa. The ncaa screwed us. Blah blah blah. Getting hammered by 20 plus all night to a terrible team. That's right. Terrible... Not even a remotely good basketball team. I have pride in teams that play hard and overachieve I.E. 2012... And thus will be realistic about the opposite type of team. Hence. Embarrassed
@DanR that is complete bs. Shots aren't falling does not tell the entire story at all. There is more to the game than shooting. And this team has none of it. Plain and simple.
@kjayhawks if one mf'er on this team was paid 1 cent then the entirety of the staff should be shit canned. Tonight
I'm definitely embarrassed by this performance. Why wouldn't you be? It's ridiculous. It's one thing to have sub standard talent. It's quite another to lack effort. And another yet for it to plainly obvious this team has zero fundamentals whatsoever. Wtf do we work on in practice? Our suntan? When you don't have superior talent you focus on controllable things.... Fundamentals, defense, rebounding. And actually playing hard. It's beyond embarrassing that this team has failed to develop one of those items on a consistent basis. Completely thottled by a goddamn bubble team.
@Woodrow not enough equity to buy in? I submit the name Josh Jackson
@Woodrow not enough equity to buy in? I submit the name Josh Jackson
This is turning into a cerealistic nightmare.
If the committee based our tourney resume solely on the body of work since Dokes injury we shouldn't even make the dance
@KansasComet I would submit that Kansas Basketball will never ever be irrelevant. The history itself will never allow this. The streak has not built our relevance. Our relevance has built the streak. And it will remain long after this current storm is gone.
I'm not sure we will another road game at all, and obviously Monday night isn't a gimme either. I'd like to be wrong, but it's difficult to see that at this point
Ya we're not good at basketball.... Said in Chevy Chase voice
I just want the team to get better. I could care less about the streak. We know it probably ended last year anyway. And to be frank. A team of mostly freshman doesn't need the pressure of the streak. Nor can they probably handle it. Before some bad luck this team could have handled it. Not now and that's okay. Why would we expect it
If jaybate were here. He would say Bill was willing to concede this game. In order to work on Monday and fully amp the team. Believing both techs will stumble elsewhere...
Idk if I buy that. But I can see it now
Maybe we can score 45 total?
Lol. Yep
Which is why effort, defense, fundamentals need to be a focus. Would be nice to see one of those.
Haha
Wasn't expecting a W here, but some dignity would be nice....
Silver lining? Idk if we could ever play this bad again
Ouch so far. That is all
Interest article about a former KU volleyball volunteer coach and his underwear theft issue. Very neatly organized and labeled. It may have been a fetish.....
Sorry I'm not smart enough to post the link, but it isn't hard to find.
Some may ask "what's the world comin to?" In which case I would reply "the world ain't comin to nothin son.... It's the same as it's ever been"
