Huge! Now time to go to work on Johnson to get his second foul!
All we need to do is not get in foul trouble, and stick around in the game.
Surely we have a spurt or two in us eventually.
Let's put this in perspective. Bill wanted to save their legs, so this is the first time they have gone up and down a court since losing to ISU on Saturday.
We must be exhausted and KSU must have a huge advantage because they've had time to rest.... (sarcasm)
We need our second wind already. I'm hoping that comes second half.
So are we fatigued? Or are we just not awake yet?
Let's see if Carlton is ready to play ball.
KSU won 2 of 3 on their court now.
We miss Sherron!
Yep. I'm thinking this is the start we need. Get down and then have Bill rip them all a new arse at half while Bruce and boys are celebrating too early.
Wow.... we started super soft. Looks like we just woke up from our nap.
But... if we are only going to play half a game, I want it to be the second half.
This game is going to come down to our guards and whether or not they will play perimeter defense.
I know Bill is trying to get Josh into the game early. It helps him get going....
Thank you, LL
I don't get all the TOs
Even the purple clowns don't like purple. They changed their court graphics to blue.
We need to feed the paint and use lots of shot fakes. Get their post in foul trouble. Game over.
The technology is there to split it up in coverage zones and flip the games so we don't have to miss anything.
I still can't believe in this day and age we have to watch some poopoo game and miss most of the first half on these overtimes.
Louisville lost a couple of players because they broke team curfew rules.
I don't think so. I'm not expecting a zone unless we are down by 10 or so.... or we have foul trouble. But... Bill is being less predictable these days and I'm digging that!
I can't say because of Federal Jinxing Laws.
Better not be after our lay down loss on Saturday.
Devonte needs to step up right now. He contributes well often, then other times he reminds me of Selden doing a disappearing act.
Yikes.... I need to get on my seedlings! Thanks for the reminder.
YES! Me, too!
It may take two halves of basketball tonight. The kitties aren't just going to evaporate on their own.
I've watched a couple of Zaga games this year. I thought they look like a Top 10 team, but not quite a Top 5 team. They are respectable.
Our defense doesn't rank well.... and it shouldn't. Right now, I don't see us being competitive in March playing this level of defense. But there is time to get it together and this team should be very good on D!
BTW - If you all want to make this the game thread... please do.
I was just thinking Buffer was the right one to introduce this huge fight tonight!
Purple kitty fur is going to be everywhere. Wouldn't be surprised if we leave a fur trail all the way back to Lawrence!
Just curious.... were you a big Al McGuire fan?
I was a huge fan of his because I met him when I was young and was a bit star struck from watching him on the tube.
Not a fight fan?
Let's Get Ready To Rumbleonthekittiesssssss.....
Wow... Michael Buffer has banked $400 million just from the licensing of his trademarked phrase.
Kentucky only paid him $15,000 to do their Midnight Madness event. I believe the amount for doing the KU game is still undisclosed.
He does look "lighter on his feet." I think he just doesn't have any hesitation left in his game. He may already be a bit stronger, and he's been coached on his psyche, too.
I believe he is going to make it in the league. He works too hard and is incredibly focused.
Or how about we attack Williams in the post? Foul him out. We turn the table and gain a huge advantage in the low post.
Did you watch the video on that story?
Perry looked great! He looks stronger. More confident. Especially in the low post.
I wonder what "control" means? No one hurt? No one dead?
If Bragg travels and doesn't play, then the Riverboat Gambler played a big bluff on Bruce.
You know the plan for Bruce will be to attack in the paint.
I like the idea of playing Carlton along side Landen.... let's bring them the unexpected and ATTACK THEIR POST!
Plus... this can only make our guards hungry again.... starting with defense.
A huge fine not only draws attention to the issue, it also makes the university dig in their pockets.
Let's face it... storming is allowed by the university when it happens. They didn't have a plan in place to stop it or limit it. Big fines get their attention quickly!
The real key is to let the visiting team exit safely. After that... if dingleberries want to get violent and screw up, they are doing it with their own clan.
" I didn’t even remember I was wearing the hat. She followed us for about 50 yards yelling "f— KU". "
There is only one good way to handle those situations....
Point at the jack arse and laugh hysterically. If she continues, laugh even harder, while pointing. I've backed down a lot of people doing this. You can watch their stature shrink every second you laugh. And I mean LAUGH... laugh so hard you almost vomit. Lots of hysteria. Gut-wrenching....
I believe almost every game we played this year qualifies as BAD BALL. We let our opponents set the tempo. That means we have to face every opponent at their best.
This is where we need leadership. Someone on the floor talking, pointing, inspiring, planning... and in this case, pushing...
They seem to have a problem getting motivated against non top 20 teams.
Obviously, tomorrow is a huge game. But what about the game after, at TT? Will we be motivated in Lubbock?
I know.... one game at a time. I'm just saying we can't let up on any team in our league... just like we won't be able to let up on the first weekend of the March tourney.
Here is the bumpersticker you need on your old pickup...

All those animal husbands should be called out.
I like our chances Monday. We are coming off a tough loss and have something to prove.... the kitties coming off a big win so will still be in party mode.
Our perimeter defense has been spotty all year. We haven't focused on it because our offense just glosses over our flaws.
Every one of these losses is going to help us. We've got to get better and we don't do that by squeeking out victories.
Right now, I believe our Achilles heel may be our perimeter defense. We have no excuse for this.
Let's see how we respond in the Sherronagon.
We seem to play best when we are pushed in a corner. Well... we are now. We are going to have to win on the road, and let's not forget our next home game is WVU. Two home losses in a row?
We've had a hard time putting two halves of basketball together this year.
I recall not long ago posting a thread basically thinking it is a good idea for us to come out slow.
Not sure why we went so flat the second half. Our defense was horrible. Horrible. Wide open treys for a team that could only beat us by getting hot from trey.
We can think we have an offense-driven team, but we ain't going anywhere with out defense.
This may be our guys "responding" to Bill's compliment about us playing better now. That sure wasn't the case today.
I would be happy to give the Clones credit for this victory, but I can't. They didn't hit well-guarded shots. They didn't run some outrageous offense. Their defense wasn't tenacious. Their rebounding stunk. Sure, they hit wide open treys.
This loss is all ours. We B L E W it! No other explanation.
Thank your lucky stars we have teams like the Mildcats to help us drive for #13! UPDATE - and the Cowboys!
Luckily... the Mildcats ALWAYS help us win our conference championships. Without them.... no streak.
Good work! That took some effort and I know I appreciate it!
I've always been a Packers fan.... and Chiefs, too. On my bucket list to go to Green Bay for a game when it is really cold and snowy.

Rape, vandalism, battery, drugs.
Rape - So far, it doesn't appear to involve a player.... our team lives in the same building.
Battery - One count has been dismissed because Carlton was defending himself. The other count on Vick is two years old and very unlikely to materialize into anything.
Vandalism - Two players are suspects and it appears to relate to the same girl who caused trouble before.
Drugs - Sounds like a pipe was found.
Add all this up. It is basically adding up to NOTHING!
I REALLY enjoyed your last post!
I played with a guy that looked EXACTLY like Bill. He was huge, strong, and he played equally dirty. I usually felt relieved that we were on the same team... except during scrimmages.
It really empowers a team to have an "enforcer."
I think he did. Self wanted him to drive, drive, drive. And he tried, tried, tried. But he would often lose the ball on his drive or he would get fouled. He didn't finish well (usually).
Josh isn't being pushed as hard to drive. And he is just one piece around two other scoring guards. Wigs was surrounded by rookies and was asked to carry the load.
