@Kcmatt7 How about just enforcing the rules on the books? Seems like that would make for an even playing field. I’m not of the opinion enough people committing a crime should make it legal.
And here begins the slippery slope of your core beliefs vs mine and I don’t want to go down that road. It likely doesn’t end cordially or belong here so that’s where I’ll leave it.

I’m actually ok with every coach found to be in the least bit implicit in breaking the fundamental rules of amateurism/NCAA being banned for life. Especially if it’s going on here with MY team! Kick all the cheaters out, but don’t miss a single one.

All I know is I don’t want someone with KU ties at this point. Manning didn’t pan out. Haase is ok, not great. Does Vaughn still coach? Not a good sign that I don’t know.
The current assistants are old except Snacks and he’s not doing much for me. Townson could be a decent head coach somewhere.

Montana, Green, and Smith were decent. It’s Bono, Cassel, Thigpen, Croyle, Huard, Palko, Orton, and the crap coaches that went with them (Crennel, Cunnigham, Edwards, Haley) that caused the dark ages. IMO
Fran spins his own narrative all the time. Don’t listen to that old fool.
2nd Ray Stevens reference in the last couple days personally. Funny, I haven’t thought about him in years.
I was at a funeral yesterday and unable to watch the game or find a replay. Why did KU stomp Tech? Was the better play the result of good shooting or was the good shooting the reason for better play? If they only played well because they shot well, I’m afraid it’s a blip. If they shot better because the defense was on and the ball movement on offense was crisp then it’s likely repeatable. 🤞 it’s repeatable.
@Woodrow I like Few too, but he has the exact same b-day as Self. He wouldn’t be a long term hire.
@mayjay I think only Dick Vitale would be worse than having Fran this much. Fran spends the whole game trying to figure out how to beat KU, it doesn’t feel like a respect thing either.
Walton belongs on this list too, but I don’t mind him when I replay the game He is just annoying in live action for me. I can usually chuckle at the fried guy when I already know the outcome.
If I had to pick a big name guy to call our games I guess it’d be Bilas. As long as KUs not playing Duke he’s usually ok. His in game analysis is pretty solid and he doesn’t have too many gimmicky sayings.
@wissox I’d love Brad Stevens, but his situation in Boston looks good for the foreseeable future. They have a decent roster and are still loaded with draft picks.

Could be they don’t watch the games. I don’t know how Bill will pull this one out. If he does win the Big 12 it will be quiet the accomplishment given the spot they are currently in. I have uncharacteristicly low expectations at this point. 2nd weekend and a share of the Big 12 might be pushing the ceiling without a solid big to go alongside Dedrick.
Dedrick puts up stats, but they fill empty. He’s not really a go-to guy. This team really misses Dok, but he’s not coming back...at least this season. Silvio would fill the void nicely, but that seems unlikely. As for the guys that can actually play it’s time to produce. Grimes needs to get laid or something. His head is messed up. McCormack needs more minutes, but those aren’t given away so he must earn them in practice. I’d love to see him get on the floor. Charlie needs to grow about 5 inches. KJ needs to figure out the system. He’s totally lost. Dotson needs to be more aggressive while cutting down on turnovers. Garrett needs to carve out a consistent roll on offense. He’s never going to be a shooter. Mitch. Love his heart. Ochai - a very nice surprise! Vick is the same streaky moody guy he’s always been.
Jr Dotson would be a nice compliment to this team. But would it undermine future success? Maybe Jr Dotson and Jr Grimes teamed up with preseason all America Jr Agbaji is what brings home the hardware in April. Maybe this seasons hardships is what galvanizes them for future greatness. I really don’t want to wait that long though!

The post office (no door to door delivery here ever) is closed due to the state wide cold snap. It’s 19 degrees on its way to 40 and completely dry. Makes about as much sense as anything these days I suppose.
It’s easy to forget what everything is. The little stuff that you’d think a college student would know. For me it’s spelling and handwriting before we can even get to the actual work. For Bill it’s fundamentals he also shouldn’t have to be teaching at this point.
Bill’s been running a 400 level class. Now he has to dumb it down to a 100-200 level class, but he’s stuck in a master class level in his head.
I’m afraid this team is a year and a piece or two away from being really good with the current roster and learning curve.
Bill is having similar trouble that I have had: after several years of returning summer help I had all new guys. While Bill has some returning guys his leaders are all gone. It’s much easier to have someone who knows the system in and out to lead by example. It’s a pain to teach the noobs EVERYTHING. You forget how little they actually know after having experienced guys. And to top it all off everyone has a different learning curve and different ways to reach them. It’s truly a struggle to teach. I have great respect for the handful of good educators out there (present company included @wissox @Crimsonorblue22).

@KUSTEVE I lost a long time customer to a brain tumor a little over a year ago. Now his daughter has been diagnosed with one as well. She’s not 40 yet.
