@Crimsonorblue22 All is well. Unfortunately my hail deductible went up about a month ago. :)
Some localized flooding. 4.5" of rain at my aunts house in abut 20 minutes. I think we're over 10" of rain for May. The average is 17.25" annually.

If I had to spend a year in student housing, practicing, and working out without playing; I know where I would go. As a matter of fact KU had me at student housing. To bad I'm too old, my eligibility has timed out, never mind my lack of talent...
@Crimsonorblue22 I do every night. :)
@Statmachine Good get Vick on campus. If he's as good as we all hope he won't be a four year guy so he just as well play a year of college ball over HS. If he's not the guy we hope for he'll need a year of practice in the system before he can be a usable player anyway.
Back to back ROY from KU. Sounds good to me!
@KUSTEVE Watch out or she'll Chuckwu up.
@BeddieKU23 Yes, Kelly should've stayed another year, but I'm still upset that Paul Pierce left early.
For what it's worth 247Sports has him ranked #49.

LaGerald Vick, a 6-5, 175-pound senior shooting guard from Douglass High in Memphis, has committed to play basketball at Kansas University, Vick's AAU coach confirmed to the Journal-World on Sunday night.
Vick, who recently reopened his recruiting after decommitting from SMU, chose KU over Kentucky, Kansas State, Auburn and others.
Team Thad AAU coach Norton Hurd told the Journal-World Vick had a great visit to KU from Wednesday through Friday. He visited Kansas State the previous weekend. He is still officially a member of the recruiting Class of 2016 where he is ranked No. 137 by Rivals.com. He will soon decide whether to reclassify to 2015 and play for KU this season. Hurd said there’s a good chance he’ll be in the Class of 2015.
“He loved the facilities and people at Kansas,” Hurd told the J-W. “He is confident Kansas is the place for him. He’s really happy with his decision.”
Hurd compared Vick’s potential to that of former KU player Ben McLemore. Indeed, Vick is known as a natural scorer.
Vick originally committed to SMU last October over offers from Georgia Tech, Alabama, Memphis, Mississippi, Providence, Tennessee, Western Kentucky, Auburn, California, Baylor, Indiana, Florida State and others.
He averaged 26.0 points and 11.0 rebound a game for Douglass this past season. He averaged 24.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.0 steals in 2013-14.
Past KU vs UK games have brought around $300 for decent seats and $1500+ for court side. I'll have to see if someone has a ticket they don't have a need for...;)
@Crimsonorblue22 How did the Royals get out of the 10th? I turned in for the evening with the bases juiced and I didn't think there were any outs. Must've been clutch pitching/fielding after that.
Ironically I've always played nice with older friends. 1/2 my friends are 20 years+ older than I am. Nov. '78
Poor thing
If this team takes off best case scenario is 5 of the top 10 go semi-pro as well as a handful of other ineligible players. Skal is probably eyeballing this as we read. This may help weed the NCAA down on the number of OADs.
Worst case scenario the league is wildly popular and suplants the NBA becoming the next big thing. No top kids go to college and the NCAA goes defunkt.
More likely, if this gains traction, is the NBA doing away with the age limit.
@ralster Interesting take. I agree Jr. and Sr. Releford are better than AW3 will be. I will wait to see what BG becomes his Sr. year. It's not likely that BG becomes a better all around player than Releford. Releford had tremendous D and flashes of good O. I think Sr. Greene could be the opposite with tremedous offensive outputs and flashes of good defense. While Releford was a stabalizing force, Greene could be used as a cataylist. I doubt Greene will surpass Releford, but wouldn't be surprised if he equaled him.
You are absolutely correct that Releford could shut down Greene at this point. With a slightly quicker release the taller Greene could shred Releford from deep. On the flip side, he still wouldn't be able to guard a slashing Releford.
Gary Bedore: Kansas will face strong schedule in ’15-16 ↗
Option for one-and-doners?: A California-based group says it will offer 2015 McDonald’s All-Americans $700,000 to play for an independent pro team called the Las Vegas Dealers.
The team owner says it will play 35 games in Las Vegas against European League teams and would also go on a 15-game tour of Europe.
Team owner Cerruti Brown told Las Vegas FOX 5 TV that some current McDonald’s All-Americans are being contacted to sign up for the 2015-16 season, to begin in October.
“We don’t see any problems in landing the right kids. Now, I’m not going to say we’ll have 10 of the top 25 kids this year, but I’m going to go on record as saying we’re going to have five,” Brown told the TV station.
On the league’s Website (lvdbasket.com), it says McDonald’s All-Americans will earn $700,000, underclassmen with college eligibility $400,000 and free agents $100,000 for the upcoming season.
“College is not for every young man that is trying to use basketball to provide a better situation for their families,” says owner Cerruti Brown. “Our innovative model targets the McDonald’s All-Americans who are projected first-round prospects by NBA scouts and general managers. This concept allows for the highly touted player to bypass college and immediately become a paid professional. We are able to offer competitive salaries averaging around $700k to the highly touted McDonald’s All-Americans who are typically ‘one and done’ players and $400k for college underclassmen. The Dealers’ niche will be based on giving basketball players a different option than what is presently offered in America. Before this, underclassmen had to either play college ball or go overseas. Venturing to Europe will not be a necessity when a U.S.-based organization will play top European teams.”
@truehawk93 Beautiful dog.
Now I feel ill.
@Crimsonorblue22 I'm missing him. A good dog is impossible not to give your heart to.
@truehawk93 Reed was a stud. :) You just set the bar higher than I do I guess. Wiggins was special; stud doesn't do him justice.
@truehawk93 wow. Too much red bull. I said he will be a four year player and an aboslute stud by his Jr. year (in college). I didn't say he'd be an all america honoree. Dude, calm down you'll live longer. It's ok to fill out the roster with top 50 players to develop and learn the system. It eases the transition from year to year if someone knows the KU way. JoJo wouldn't have gotten ripped at late night if a Sr. had told him how to have fun without goofing off. I'd like to see 2-3 top 20-50 players every year in addition to 1-2 top 10 talents each year.
Ballock isn't a program saver. He could be a great glue guy an absolute stud in how he helps the team. I don't see him as a physical specimen. I see him as a potientally great COLLEGE basketball player. All time great? No. Twelve points a night great? Yes.
Maybe you didn't understand that my first post was a newspaper article. Not my beliefs. Your reply puts many words in my mouth that have never been spoken or thought. Please refrain from projecting yourself onto me. I'm already pissed as some a-hole shot and killed my 10 pound, 1 week shy of 13 years old, 3 legged, Minature Pincher. Don't make me uncork on off comments in a place of sancturary.
Four year players rarely wow you as sophomores in HS. A kid ranked in the top 30 is someone you want to be in your system. He's a long term player. OADs in positons of need is ok. Jr.s and Sr.s are what make the team. He will be an absolute stud buy his Jr. year.

Eudora High sophomore Mitchell Ballock received hugs, high-fives and plenty of pats on the back Tuesday — the day after it was made public that he’d received a scholarship offer to play basketball at tradition-rich Kansas University.
“I got a lot of comments. Basically everybody around, everybody in my school said, ‘Congratulations,’ and all that,” said Ballock, a 6-foot-4, 16-year-old combo guard who led the Cardinals to a Class 4A-II state title as a mere freshman and exploded on the AAU scene this past summer.
“When Kansas offered (Monday afternoon), it kind of blew up — 10 miles down the road, everybody likes Kansas. It kind of took off.”
Ballock, who also has been offered by Iowa State and Creighton at this early date, admits he was “really excited” to receive an offer from 12th-year KU coach Bill Self.
“I’ve been a Kansas fan since I was 6, 7 years old, since I even knew what basketball was,” Ballock said, adding, “I’m a KU fan. I like a lot of different teams. I just like the game (of basketball).”
Ballock, who averaged about 20 points a game last season and won the three-point shooting contest and “best shooter” award at this summer’s Stephen Curry camp in California, has his favorite Jayhawks from the past.
“When I was little, I liked J.R. Giddens. I like him and Keith Langford,” Ballock said. “J.R. was an above-the-rim kind of guy. Keith Langford did it all. He’s still doing it all. And Brandon Rush. I like Brandon Rush.”
Ballock says he’s fired up about the KU offer but in no hurry to end his recruitment at this time.
“Obviously, my heart is going to be there. Overall, it’s not about that. It’s about where you fit the best,” Ballock said. “I’m going to see how everything goes and take my visits and see. I am still young. I have a lot of time. There’s no pressure to commit anywhere.
“I’m going to feel it out and decide what fits my game the best and where I’ll fit playing-style-wise and the best school. I’ll see how it goes.”
He’s not anxiously awaiting release of player rankings in his Class of 2017.
“I don’t worry about any of that. I don’t look at the rankings at all,” Ballock said. “You know Jay Williams, who played at Duke? When I went out to Vegas last summer, he was our guest speaker. He wasn’t great coming out of high school. He signed with Duke when he was an underdog. He got drafted second overall. He made something out of nothing.
“I don’t care if I’m seventh, 10th, 20th, 100. I don’t care if I’m ranked at all. As long as you get an opportunity to go play, just play. That’s what I dream of doing. That’s what I care about, to keep working to get to that (major-college) level. Once you get to that level, then you just prove you can actually play at that level.”
In the eyes of KU, he has the skills to play big-time basketball, hence the scholarship offer.
“It’s kind of a sigh of relief to know all the hard work is actually paying off. It is the beginning of everything. It’s not going to stop now,” Ballock said.
Ballock is an active Twitter user and can be found at @Mitchbballin24.
“Thanks to everyone that showed me love. It means a lot that all of you guys are by my side!” Ballock tweeted Tuesday night.
@jaybate-1.0 How would you regulate this? Allow no more than 4 scholarships per class? That might work. Would be crappy if you have a high level of success as the kids leave it would take 2-3 years to recover from a couple early exits.
@drgnslayr I agree it's difficult to pull Texas recruits, but North Carolina may be more difficult with NC State, Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Duke. bleh, If it weren't for Danny this list would be totally disgusting.
@jaybate-1.0 "Scratch the surface of both and you find more surface." That's deep. He says with tongue in cheek. Or Confusious says.
I wouldn't worry about the ISU crowd it's just a bunch of whiny middle aged white people and a few scrawny students.
@brooksmd Thats wrong, just wrong. :)
@Crimsonorblue22 I was thinking about Greene's Sr. season. I was hoping he'd take a rs next season when Brown signed. Brown as a place holder for a year, but a placeholder that could put KU over the top. Now I'm hoping for a full recovery quickly. Brannen will be rushed back comparatively speaking.
I'm hoping Brannen heals quickly and Bill lands Mack and the Greek Project 'Scraper. Set the groundwork for '19. This is a peak year, so could be 2019 with the right 3-4 year players mixed with OADs at the right spot or two.
I thought Billy Thomas was the most prolific three baller in KU history. Terry was awesome too. Jeff Boschee was pretty good too, but I'd like to see what a year of healthy Brannen Greene could do!
"It's interesting to me that people who have achieved great things and understand how hard it is to be really good at something are the first to congratulate you. People who have not accomplished much in their lives are the first to criticize you." Geno Auriemma
This applies to more than a few posters at the old site, but only a couple here.
@Crimsonorblue22 Did you read the last line? Niang and Long should become the first ISU players to go to the tournament all four years. Puts Kansas' streak into a little different perspective.
What can Brown do for you?
How about delivering a national champoinship?
aTm :(
@JayHawkFanToo I sat in the back row upper deck right by the door and the view was awesome. ISU fans suck (whiny), but awesome otherwise. If you sit in the furthest seat away from the door in the upper deck there is a pillar that obstructs part of the court. Anywhere baseline to baseline are good seats.
I've been spoiled by AFH. I've only been to around 76 college b-ball games and 70 of them were in AFH (69-1).
F -- Chieck Diallo
F -- Carlton Bragg
G 0 Frank Mason III
G 1 Wayne Selden, Jr.
G 4 Devonte Graham
G 10 Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk
G 14 Brannen Greene
F 31 Jamari Traylor
F 33 Landen Lucas
F 34 Perry Ellis
F 42 Hunter Mickelson
Unless I missed someone KU should have 2 scholarships left. So sign both players with no regrets!
I like it. If Brown signs that takes pressure off of Brannen to come back. A redshirt would be nice so he has 2 good years left instead of one good and one gimpy year. If he signs elsewhere it will allow Svi and Greene more playing time to season them. It's a win-win situation.
Bragg has a little of a nasty streak I didn't expect. He's all smiles when I've seen him. It's nice seeing his game face.
@Crimsonorblue22 said:
@Statmachine that will help morale!! I can't wait! I'd like to see them play in kc, never been to a game there.
The Sprint Center is nice. It's no Allen Fieldhouse, but it's nice. Pretty quiet, but the seats are nice and there's enough elevation between rows to offer an unobstructed view. Just make sure you don't end up in the very corners as there are pillars that could be in the way.
@Crimsonorblue22 Don't forget Brannen was injured too. And I don't think Graham seemed as explosive after his injury either.
I just realized while I am no longer a Brandon Ingram fan I became a huge Chieck Diallo fan today! How do you like them apples?
I won't repeat what I yelled when I heard the news. Needless to say I'm happy he signed and happy no young (or any) ears where within a mile of me.
I feel Brandon was going to UNC before the recent issues. After UNC eliminated themselves it opened things up. I feel he really wants to stay in-state. So I'm going to say 51% Duke, 49% KU.
These comments are open to interpretation:
The bottom line on his decision was provided to Zagsblog.com by his dad.
“We have done our homework. I think the decision he makes Monday when he makes the announcement will be very satisfactory to everyone. What we’re asking is we know a lot of people are institution fans, whether its Carolina, Duke, N.C. State, Kansas, Kentucky, you are a fan of the institution. We are asking regardless of where he goes to continue to be a Brandon Ingram fan. You don’t have to be a fan of where he goes; you can still be a Brandon Ingram fan. That’s all we ask. We appreciate the support everyone has given us and we’re going to continue to support him,” Donald told the website.
So if Brandon wants to cause the least amount of in-state angst and wants to retain the most Brandon Ingram fans, he has to go to KU. This hurts the other schools the least. I just don't know if he's willing to leave the state. I will be extremely excited if he signs with KU!
SVP was being awfuly hard on the Royals on ESPN radio this afternoon esp. Ventura. Says he needs to calm down and only Royal fans are willing to defend his actions...
Also claims the high HBP count is their own doing. I'm not sure on that one kinda sounds like, "she shouldn't have worn that dress."
