Just wanted to say that first of yes I know how some on here feel about these guys BUT - - just saying starting to look some more favorable for us with them.

Starting to look pretty decent with Billy Preston - -and the a little more like Duval maybe interested. Yes I've heard people saying oh they will never qualify - - -they will never step foot on campus - - they are a waste of time - - -he gonna end up over sea's - - -to which I say ya,- - - maybe they will - - -BUT MAYBE they won't My take on it is if Coach Self and the staff feels like they need to persue these guys - -then I'm all for it, they know a hell of a lot more then me/us.

I'm just saying I'm not really sure that if we want to top players at KU I'm not sure we can afford NOT to recruit them eligible or not. - - Things have a way with working their selves out. Wouldn't be good if we didn't recruit them, and turns out they are eligible, and DO end up on a college campus.

Now I'm not sayin my opinion is right by any means - -I'm not sayin your opinion is right either - - -that's all these are is opinions, everyone has one. - - -I'm just doing some wishful thinking along the lines that they MAY actually qualify - - -they MAY actually come to College - - -and thinking in the end wouldn't it be great to have the # 5 player & the # 1 pg in the Nation Trevon and then the # 12 player & # 5 pf in the Nation playing for us next year to go along with Garrett and possibly Wooten? - - just my wishful thinking. Ya I know we are going to have people from across the Nation saying - - - well Duke was without their 3 Freshman super studs - - ya this is true - - BUT we could also counter point and say well how many times are WE going to go 2 17 from the 3 - - -& 9-19 from the Free throw line? PLUS as was pointed out, I don't want to hear any of that cause DUKE is still loaded with studs, really good teams over come adversity, it's not our fault who is hurt, we can only play who is out on the floor - -that's all we can do.

Some other things I noticed like yourself, I feel pretty good about Udoka. I mean the good thing is we are going to have him for two years, & I think maybe even possibly 3. If he can develop ANY KIND of a shot he is going to be an absolute beast - -I mean he had 12 rebounds last night - -6 points - - but if he can develop ANY kind of offensive moves then hell ya I love that, hell I already love it - -and your right it was quite the sight watching him try and maneuver down the court -but hey at least he stayed with it lol.

I mean dam, I usually try and upheld the ref's as I used to be one - - but dam this is crazy, we have been in serious, serious foul trouble both games - - - both teams last night was close to the one & one before the FIRST television time out - - -I mean come on - -how the hell can people expect teams to get ANY KIND OF FLOW if they are going to be like that? - - Then later in the year you won't see HALF this crap being called, that's what makes it really frustrating. One time in particular we come down and either Frank or Devonte drives gets what should of been a blocking fouled called on Duke - - and nothing - -we go to the other end and BAM same dam thing they call.

I'm sure Josh was VERY frustrated, I know of TWO for sure calls that was just utter bullshit on him - - -his fifth when like Bilas said Kennard sold that thing, that wasn't squat after the way they had been calling the game & then I believe where they should of called a tie up and they called him, I mean you can say well he was coming over the guys back while he was on the floor but I mean come on - - REALLY? I hope he carries this over, he came out the 2nd half and looked nice.

Landen has just got to BE STRONGER he looks once again like he is lost, and why the hell he wants to bring the ball down - - -WOW - -but I know Coach will stick with him for awhile cause of Udoka development - -but if the big guy can learn to play longer without getting in so much foul trouble and Landen keeps going like he is at the present - - -who knows

I really feel things changed late in the 1st half, we were pretty much moving the ball at will and were again I believe we were at the ISU 37 4th & 2 and we tried to get them to jump and then we quick kicked - - -like the commentator said all we gained out of that exchange was 17 yds - - - the way we were moving the ball should of just went and gone for it, like our chances at that point. What would of been the worst that could happen? - - Us not convert and they drive down the field and score ? - - -they did that anyways, just took 17 more yds to do it that's all. Seemed shortly after that they really started getting HUGE yds per carry on the ground, nd changed the game. A lot of good points from all Yes I will admit it sucked we got bear, of course if it were up to me we would NEVER lose, that's how spoiled I am. After it had sit in for awhile and again this morning I was trying to think why would I be mad, ticked off? There were a couple of things that I thought stuck out for the reasons of being beat & I thought myself and one, has been mentioned here & the other was brought up last night during the game. The main one I thought was the Rebounding I kept saying we are getting our ass pounded on the boards, second they brought up last night and that was our transition defense, getting beat back down the floor.

But like Kansas Com said we have to Relax, no need to panic these are things that can and am sure will be fixed. Jaybate brought up good points, & did some comparsing between Wayne and josh, saying Wayne could of had the possibility of hanging 30 on Indiana, which yes he could of BUT- - -the question is, could Wayne of hung 30 on Indiana as a Freshman? we don't know that, certainly as a Junior yes he could but he developed more as a scoring throughout and like said he was a yo-yo never know.

Like was also said we could of just play a total butt load full of cream puffs -- but as we all know that's not how it is done here at Ku - -Hell Texas barely bear Incarnate World - -think they won by 5, Incarnate world for gosh sakes. Like I said ya it sucks but overall like I thought and the Indiana Coach said was that was a MARCH game., Now it's going to be extremely tough Tuesday against Duke, kind of surprised we were going to fly straight to New York kind of worried how we will do then also. - -- the long flight -- -jet lag, the hard game an over time game against Indiana how our legs will be.- - -BUT we going to be fine, it's the first game - -let the season roll - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Of couse we all know that KU has never backed down from stiff competition, - -but your right these 2 right out the gate, not sure exactly how rested we will be flying back from Hawaii and facing them after flying to New York. Just curious What happened with us and Troy Brown? There are just basics that aren't there with the offense - -I mean we come out at the start of the game move the ball some and then where is the decipline ?- - 1st a hold on the O-Line - -Then a false start on O-line and all of a sudden your like 2nd and 25 then 3 and 23, when you struggle like we do you just can't make those kinds of plays. I am a College basket ball fan period I eat sleep and drink it - -it's my only time of year, I always have, AND always will follow ALL basketball recruits, whether it be ONE STAR four year players that have shown interest in KU or FIVE STAR OAD'S that are also being recruited by KU. That's how I stay informed on these players Now you answer me honestly, What player can you name that NOT making it to the N.B.A is their main goal? - -I mean isn't that what the basketball game is all about? going and achieving the ultimate goal of playing in the N.B.A ? If a player can play for the College he loves AND make it to the N.B.A that's even better for them. just posted another thread on this - -ya very poor match - - but still managed to pull it out., Just no flow, 1st set was fine but the rest of the match -- really struggled, just trading points or K-State goin on 3-4 pt runs just kind of Ugly. But a win is a Win, kind of saw this coming after the Huge Texas match. Well, kind of seen this coming. Coming off the HUGE match against Texas - -playing at K-State - -not pretty by any means, having to go all 5 sets. Just no consistency, no flow, just looked out of sync - -Yet still managed to get set 5.

Might have been their worst match of the season. Vogel was killin it for K-State, BUT the ladies pulled it out. Jumped out 8-2 in set 5 and then hung on 15-11, everybody goes through one of these kind of matches I think some time during the season, hopefully got our's out of our system tonight - - Way to Hang tough ladies - -On to the next Match. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Agree, - - - - 1000000 % , Lucas , ONE rebound, I realize his early fouling had some to do with this but, - - - Bragg TWO rebounds. we just can't have that. They will get better we know this, just can't afford that kind of effort against legit teams. - - - When you figure you get 2 rebounds in 14 minutes, and one rebound in 17 minutes NOT GOOD.

then on the other side of the spectrum you have Mitch getting Seven rebounds in NINE minutes, & Coleby Six rebounds in ELEVEN minutes & then you have Frank. I agree with all comments. Last night WAS one of our not so good exhibitions that I can remember for some time. Like has been said when talking to Coach Self in the post game, He said the 2 Starting big's had 3 rebounds, and that's unacceptable, where as Frank had 10.

I think the excessive fouls had to do with the slowness that has been mentioned, being out of position, ALTHOUGH also like has been mentioned I think the Officials found something new to play with last night - - a whistle., I mean come on, how you going to get any kind of flow when they are like that? I would be willing to bet
you won't see a lot of those calls during the regular season.

Josh had typical freshman jitters in the 1st half, trying to think to much, to mechanical instead of just playing, which he settled some in the 2nd half

The Ugly - - -- 18 -- 34 free throw shooting - - -like 24 turnovers against Washburn unacceptable, the excessive fouls, and not doing a better job in the rebounding.

Bottom line - - -Hey it WAS the 1st game, exhibition, that's why we play these exhibitions right? so the staff can see where the guys are at, and where or what they have to work on? - - Well we have plenty to work on - -but I got a feeling it's gonna be just fine - -these next couple days not going to be pretty for the players . I think we will see a lot better Sunday. Sure can't play this way next week against Indiana.

When asked what positives Coach could take away from the game - - His response? - That nobody got hurt. - -We'll be all right, glad the season is here. - - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Well at least the whistles settled down in the 2nd half huh? One good thing, we can go back to work - - -It was 1st game - -exhibition, that's a good thing, got another exhibition. Hard to get rhythm when the ref's found new toys whistles.. Pretty ragged BUT it was the 1st game. Know Coach can't be happy like he said in post game I think he said 3 rebounds from top 2 bigs BUT yet Frank get's 10. !8 - 34 from the free throw line - - 24 turnovers, we will get better.
