Sounds like good news could be coming on Acuff. Swain all but saying he's committed. We'll see what twists and turns are left on this one.

Also sounds like they sit in a great spot for Bryson Tiller as well who just unofficially visited. He already OV'd previously and can again this fall if need be

hmmm, I read just the opposite on Acuff this Morning. It was off a Arkansas Article saying that some guy from on 3 had predicted Acuff to commit to Arkansas, and that would mean chances were that Darryn Peterson would land at KU. , saying that Arkansas was the supposed leader for Acuff. - Hell who knows, heard NIL is playing a HUGE part in this also

2025 Recruiting • Jun 23, 2024 01:57 AM

Wondering how Peterson's visit went ? - -heard from other sources was that He was really excited about his upcoming visit with KU--- plus his Dad I guess loves Coach Self sure woudl be nice

2025 recruits - - -starting off well • Jun 21, 2024 08:32 PM

Well weekend off to good start. Got our first commit this weekend . Jackson Cook a WR 3 * announced today, was in for a mid week visit - - good start

Was listening to Shay on the Jay Hawk Slant podcast and he said could be another big weekend, said still a lot of possibilities might be looking at seven more

Possibilities could be - -Gabe Daniel's- - Brock Heath - -Bryson Williams- -I know this isn't spelt right, probably far from it but anyways Laruse Zamarono - -which is a 4 * down to either KU or Washington - future is bright my friend - hope this is another great weekend

How about we just keep it where it is. -getting diluted down enough already the way it is -keep going you'll have teams in with 12-29 records playing in the dam thing - -they just can't leave well enough alone, Like they say if it's not broke - -don't fix it

2025 recruits - - -starting off well • Jun 20, 2024 10:24 PM

Dang I just found out , didn't realize that there is a kid that think just very easily could end up when all said and done , could very easily commit to KU , a Wide receive who's name is Tate Nagy , which goes to show how bright I am lol.

Turns out this Tate Nagy is the Son of Matt? Nagy , the Offensive Coordinator for the KC Chiefs, and use to be the head Coach of the Chicago ---- pretty cool , Tate used to be a QB for Blue Valley but came to camps, KU had him come to two & offered as he started running at Wide Receiver - KU liked what they saw an offered sa a Wide Receiver.

Mercy , when I first saw this I though what the F - - -. - The Florida Gators have an incoming Freshman that Guiness has listed as the tallest teen in the world. player ever in the world - - makes Zach Edey look like a midget.

Olivier Rioux Canadian Freshman 7 ft 9 inches & 290 pounds -- and size 20 shoe is playing at Florida.- I thought mercy , but he may play, but he is only a 3 * -ranked 305th Nationally - and the # 56 rated Centre.

He played for the Canadian in the 2023----U-18 FIBA America cup only averaged 4.5 ppg per game & 4.5 rpg per game

So really not much, seen some video against other hih school kids I guess and pretty much didn't even have to jump to dunk lol - Still gonna turn some heads.
You might think if he gets in program and works / gets some basic training might do something , if nothing else because of height, what you think ?

@KirkIsMyHinrich said in 2025 recruits - - -starting off well:

For sure. Getting so many players on the defensive side of the ball is exciting, but Foster seems like a huge need for us at center.

Veery , Very true. I wasn't thinking 24 recruits for some reason today , even though he did commit this weekend & he is a massive pickup. I think our O-Line will be one of the better O-Lines in the Conference , which should be a real bonus for us in protecting Jalon & our backs. You give Daniels any protection are pretty good he gonna make a big play.He is pretty dam accurate throwing the dep ball down the middle and can run also pretty well I just have a feeling he gonna play a full year this being his last yr.--Ya Foster nickname Mountain--fits well 6'5 & 330. Thats a grown man and then some

Prety good weekend & Rivera & Hammond probably the cream this weekend.

2025 recruits - - -starting off well • Jun 16, 2024 10:19 PM

Mercy , remember when we struggled to get ONE kid to commit, or kid that got no D-1 offers ?-- - - now look , we competing with on some of these kids going against the Michigan's -- Alabama-- -Texas and such, I mean sure I realize that times these othr schools might kin of back off but still to even be in the same Ballpark with these guys- Show how far we have come in three years, Lance and Staff has worked miracles with this past laughingstock -- -You don't see them laughing at KU anymore now do you -- Just think if this staff knew how to recruit -- I mean that was suppose to be Lance weakness , he couldn't recruit , I think he hs done a prety decent job myself. -- ROCK CHALK.

Wondre what next weekend will bring in to us? - -Anyone know how many Scholi's we have available ?

2025 recruits - - -starting off well • Jun 16, 2024 08:26 PM

WOW - -another one. Swain says this gives us eleven commitments not counting Foster -and it's our what fourth commit today and fifth with out foster for the weekend.

This weekend ew got Martin - Holley - - - Schmeizie- --- -Rivera - &--- Hammond- - - then of Course Foster. --Count Foster and that is SIX commits to KU football this weekend - - GIVE THEM HELL LANCE, -Dam have I told you guys how much I love this staff , lol.

Just within the last like twenty minutes we ot Hammond----Defensive Line, Lanc really getting after the Defensive side of the ball. We got Hamond over Arizona - --Utah -- Houston - - Washington-- & Iowa State

2 Linebackers - - - 2 Defensive Ends - - - A Safety - - -And Defensive Lineman- - -gotta love it. - -We took a big jump in National Rankings with Hammond , ew went from 48th - -to 41st-- not to bad - - We are right in the Middle of the Big 12 --wel 16 really lol -- we are Sitting 8th right behind UCF - ROCK CHALK

2025 recruits - - -starting off well • Jun 16, 2024 08:07 PM

We are sitting at # 48 ranking s of this moment, I think we an end up a little higher yet

2025 recruits - - -starting off well • Jun 16, 2024 05:36 PM

Dang , been a really good weekend for Coach L & the staff this weekend. Ku has picked up THREE commits today, and had rose up to the # 52 ranked class before we picked up our third commit today.

We got a commit out of Garrett Martin a DE today -- - A Commit from Brandon Schmeizie from Axtel Ks Today who is a ?Safety -- and just like 15 minutes ago we got a commit from Kenyon Rivera a LB, who I like a lot who also had offers from Michigan - -Tennessee - -Texas - - & Teas A & M to name a few - - - Also got a commit from Adrain Holley Saturday - Coach L and the boys not playing - nd then again we got Bryce Foster to commit this weekend through the portal - -Been a HUGE Weekend for the guys - -ROCK CHALK

2024 recruits • Jun 15, 2024 06:55 PM

Huge get for our team for THIS Season today. - -Got the commit from a kid e targeted through the portal , he was rated as the 89th ranked player coming out of High School # sixth ranked interior lineman coming out of High School Was recruited by Auburn , Georgia , LSU , Okla , Oreg & Texas

Bryce Foster a Center from Teas A & M - -started all 12 games as a Freshman, played four games I believe then got hurt his Soph yr and then took Medical Redshirt -- has a nick name of Mountain - -understandable , kid is huge - -6'5 - -and 330 lbs

The addition of this kid really solidifies our O-Line , our O-Line gonna be really solid , This allows Ford to move back out to Guard instead where he graded out as a top 5 guard in the Big 12 - - Foster who was named All Freshman team in the SEC by multiple outlets , made multiple Fr all American teams Logan Brown , who is also really big and former 5 * player , then you have Cabledo anchoring line. O-Line should be a major bonus we have capable back ups also , looking really solid to help protect our QB & Backs -- you have to love this

lol, hell we gonna go that route they could always say the same thing about us. -to many big dogs in the pound. , and I tell you what people keep on thinking about not being worried about K/ State one bit- - ya you just keep right on thinking that, that's the kind of attitude that gonna get your ass bit lmao. - -Man people sometimes just can't accept the fact that others can have solid teams too -that'swhere the good Crimson & Blue blinders come into play - -that's laughable , not talking about you necessarily but they know who they are- -time to wake up

@Gorilla72 said in 2024 Portal Madness Thread:

@jayballer67 - It appears 3 of their best 5 players are centers. How do they all of them on the floor at once? I suppose one could play the “4” but Big12 caliber 4’s are generally pretty fast. It will be interesting to see what Tang does with these guys when the conference season rolls around.

Hawkins says they don't want him playin the 5 - - -he will be the 4, neve wanted to play the 5

2024 Portal Madness Thread • Jun 14, 2024 05:40 PM

Well K/State got another good transfer through the Portal - - from Illinois, now you can agree with this or not- - -doesn't matter to me BUT Tang has gathered a pretty solid group of players and I think they will be a player in the League this year unless Tang just can't Coach a lick.

You figure the kid from Michigan ---The kid from Kentucky pretty elite rim protector/decent rebounder - then Hawkins plus others - -they are going to be solid Now we can just blow it off , continue to ignore it saying oh it's K/State or////w can acknowledge this and relaize not going to be anybody's punk and STILL kick their ass.

I Know it's Pointless, but what if. . . • Jun 13, 2024 08:56 PM

Shannon was just found Not guilty on all counts -Rape - - and I think sexual assault ?

@dylans said in Oh boy this is getting serious. Good thing/ Bad thing ?:

Will the players have advertising on their uniforms? Soon they will look like nascar cars. lol what a joke the Big12 and college ball is becoming. Hope they figure out the competitive balance.

It was mentioned about logo of like All State of some kind on uniforms and logs on playing fields

@Texas-Hawk-10 said in Oh boy this is getting serious. Good thing/ Bad thing ?:

As goofy as this all sounds, I will always give Yormark credit for being proactive in trying to keep the B12 viable. If Bowlsby was still in charge, the B12 likely would've been picked apart by the ACC and Pac 12 after Texas and OU left for the SEC.

Yormark is doing whatever he can to help keep the B12 going and deserves all the credit in the world for the job he's done so far in solidifying the B12 as the number 3 conference which is not where anyone though we'd be as a league 5 years ago.

I couldn't agree more. He is leaving no stoned un turned trying to seeks ways for Revenue , things are changing and the Big 12 has to change also or get left behind. - In the end we may not be the Big 1 anymore as we wear patch's or see All State Logo on fields but we will survive. -If we want to compete in recruiting battles or whatever and hang in there with the BIG 2 then like it says this is a risk - -BUT also a bigger risk if we don't

Mercy watching podcast today - -breaking BIG breaking news. Looks like Brett ?Yormork trying to insure stability of the Conference. -Big 12 Considering a one Billon from private equity for 20 % of the Big 12 .

It's risky to do this , BUT also very risky if you don't. - -We have got to get up to that 22 Million payout or were in trouble , gonna get left behind. Looking at it as trying to keep up with the BIG & SEC at least stability of Conf.

Brett McMurphy said Naming Rights Partner very well could be All State deal values between 30-50 Millon , Big twelve needing the Cah now betting on the future.- - Risky to do it BUT also very risky to not.

Example they were giing is if you don't your gonna get burnt, left behind. Taht 3-4 * fo
otball player you were in a recruiting battle with - - -forget the Michigan's- -Ohio States--the bigger boys , but even the battles of Purdue - -Rutgers , Nebraska's you don't do this you can't match these scho
ol's offers then - -they not coming. Same in Basketball . Baseball, you gonna get your ass kicked - - -you have to do this -Sure it'sa gamble But the results if you don't - - -

This just coming out today, Big--they talking about it now. - -My question would be what 20% of the Big twelve get their part of this money? -What happens to the other Schools

Edit from ESPN , Pete Thammel reporting that this deal could be worth Hundreds of Millions of Dollars over the Course of the Deal , could end up as one of the largest Commerical deals in the history of Collegiate sports , not including media rights.

Whoever would be the rights partner would probably remove the Big Twelve from the Name- - So if it was All State the Big Twelve would become te All State Conference

Seating being replaced by the two Video Boards - -size of twelve foot tall and twenty four feet wide. Trying to up date the Phog without losing history, I can see both sides , but kinda sucks losing fans

Don't really know how much stock to put into this BUT Trilly Donavan saying we are suppose to be getting another commit Tomorrow ? Didn't give any names but that's what is floating around -- w shall see , would give us our 13th player

We STILL could use a quality 13th unless it's just a body, and with Bill I don't think it would be. Don't know what Position the kid is suppose to play or what but Guess we shall see how it plays out

Hurley • Jun 06, 2024 09:35 PM

Big time money can take away a lot of that shit storm that you talk about , plus Hurley has mentioned in the past about the NBA possibilities. - An article said he has been disappointed about talks of contract on extension's/new contract with U Conn

The biggest draw back of the whole thing is having to put up with LeBron James tactics, LeBron believes he is the Coach - -what LeBron says goes , that's going to be his biggest draw backs if he were to accept. Again Money talks huge , don't be surprised if the Money is right. He ha shown or talked interest of Coaching in the NBA

Give Coach credit , still trying to load the Wagon. - -Read an article from Swain he put out about half hour ago , saying Bill was still looking for one more player for the 24/25 roster.

Out of the top 200 players who entered the portal , only 17 remain uncommitted. Bill looking for a player that can fit the role. Says they have been talking to some guys.

Just happen to read this the other thought welp hear we go, maybe I'm just late to the game, might be old news to people , I just didn't realize it. day /or heard about it.

Leet's see when was it ? Wasn't it in the Middle of last Season were a Court ruled temporarily at the time that a player could transfer as many times as he wanted without having to sit out a yr or use a year ? Where a kid could transfer 4-5 times if he wanted without any time out.

Well now that rule has become a Permanant rule . Which means anytime a player wakes up in a bad mood and get's mad at a Coach he can transfer and be immediately eligible to play at any other School It will be a constant NIL bidding war for players from no on.- -You can't match , or out bid others- -your gonna be screwed.

Kind of a mixed bag for me on this , on one hand sure would love to be able to get that experienced guy through the portal, quality guy that's been through the wars --- -BUT on the other hand , what's this do to the High School kids - - -your incoming stud Freshman or that kid that is in the range of a top 50 player , a kid that might take 2-3 years to develop but a kid that has no problem sticking around and developing ? - I just don't see how this can't hurt these kids.

Like I said maybe this has been discussed already and just missed it----just curious what you think ?-- -ROCK CHALK

@BeddieKU23 said in Furphy:

@wissox

The depth should improve. One of your 3 transfers is likely your 6th man, Jackson is in year 2. Clemence off a red shirt with 3 years in the system is a wild card. Bidunga is an exciting big man with skills that Hunter doesn't have so I see that as a good 1-2 combo there. Passmore has a lot of tools we covet at the wing. The athleticism should be improved top to bottom. I would like to see another guard added just for insurance and thinking ahead to life after Harris.

I do think our depth is a bit of an unknown still. Potentially having a starter level guy as your 6th man will be different than last year and that's huge. I really do believe with the way the game is changing you need to invest in your depth and have 8-9 guys you can depend on every night. We didn't even have 6 last year and guys were completely worn down in March. That part is on the coaches to improve. Hopefully the roster additions did enough to fix it

I really hope R , Passmore is able to see the floor early for quality minutes. I think we have a hidden gem there , hope he doesn't get frustrated with lack of floor time possibly. From what I've seen and heard about him he is athletic he is tough can take contact, and finish---- he can initiate contact just overall solid. could play a role for this team , nice size.

I saw him as high as 13th., to the Kings Happy for the kid, not mad at all yo gt the chance to be drafted that high -- go for it

Nice snippet on Jalen Daniels from 247 • May 29, 2024 04:19 PM

Was reading an article from 247 yesterday and they had listed the top twelve most dynamic QB'S in 2024.

They listed Jalen at number five , having this to say about him : At full Strength there are few better in BIG time situations then Daniels on the move - -very true. I think the key phrase here is though " when at full strength " Keeping Jalen healthy is top priority.

They had other Big twelve QB'S listed they went like this : --- -Quinn /Baylor # 11 - - -Jefferson / UCF $ 8 - - - Johnson / K/State - # 7 - -& Greene- /WV- -# 3

Deadline is 11:59 tonight. The one we need to be watching in Robinson. If he withdraws from the draft, it sounds like it will be a KU vs Kentucky battle for him.

Doesn't look like he is being projected that high in the draft. I think he comes out but re-unites with his old Coach Pope at Kentucky. -Obviously all the Kentucky fan base think it's a done deal he will be at Kentucky lol

Furphy • May 29, 2024 03:17 PM

I think every one thinks it's a fore gone conclusion that Johnny stays in the draft. The latest mock draft I saw on him was 13th to the Kings You can't blame him if that turns out to be true. I don't think if he is going to be piked 13th that him returning for us next year would improve his stock in next years NBA draft.

They say this year is a pretty weak draft class , another reason for him to stay in, cause if he comes back for another year at KU - -the Draft class might be a lot stronger and he might not be drafted aa high. Having said that it is kind of different that he still hasn't come out and said he was staying in the draft -again pretty sure he is , but crickets so far.
