1st of all let me preface this so people don't get all twisted up , cause nobody here has ever insinuated it but just saying I'm here expressing why I think this team would neve make that Championship run THIS SEASON.
We will have a pretty good Season my thoughts are possibly a sweet 16 team , anything beyond that would be gravy. I think in reality this team is just missing a couple of components for that to happen. - -I think we re probably looking at a 3rd place finish behind Baylor and more likely then not Texas.
Number 1 reason for not any real serious contention for a Championship : - - We have no leader , what I mean is we don't have THAT guy that can take over the game , get us the clutch basket when we need it- - -that go to guy , that guy that keeps the others in line - -it's ok to get a little angry , someone screws up - - let them know dam man come on you got to get in the game - -that kind of guy. 2nd : - -We have NO INSIDE presence NONE. - - the guy that according to Self that had the most improvement during the offseason was McCormack , my response to that would be - - - WHERE? - - - Where Coach -i JUST DON'T SEE IT . - not one aspect of his game that I can see has improved. sorry. - -Hell Mitch gives us as much as Dave - - Dave not scoring - -Mitch can do that - -Mitch better rim protecter.
We have players that if they don't hit their first couple of shots then - - they are done , they dissapear , vanish become very timid - you can't do that you got be aggressive - - -stay aggressive , we don't have players that will do that - -example ( Devonte - but even more Frank } - Frank was just mean - -just a dog you know what i mean ? - -we don't have anyone like that on this team.
We are just missing key things this Season not that athletic , we saw today when you come against a team that is more athletic and taller , longer. - -I figure we lose to Baylor twice , Texas at Texas , and probably another somewhere along the line in League - would of said West Virginia but looks like they wrapping up camp too with their losses - they headed South and that will be real quick.
Hopefully next year with the kids coming in better scorers we be better , then the question becomes who is gonna run the point - just not our year guys

Having look at all the negatives & yet this also has to be said - -This was kind of the perfect situation for Texas- - no 6th man only 10 % capacity and a team that shoots 32.8 from the three for the year and they make 12-26 I think they said.
When your a team that's playing from behind the entire game just adds that much more pressure to score every time down the floor especially when your down double degits in the 2nd half - -you just half to score every time , then add to that you have to really put the screws down the entire half when your on the defensive end - - we DID NEITHER
that has to rank as one of the poorest displays of what they call basketball in some years that I can remember. -I would NOT want to be these guys. - -coach Self will be all up in that as, I can't say that I could find one positive about this game - -just total domination by Texas, & to think yet Baylor will probably beast Texas by double degits- - that should say enough about Baylor. - was not just one guy sucking , this was about the WHOLE FRICKING TEAM sucking balls today really sad

Marcus is just fine. Numbers don't lie , the kid averages 5 rebounds a game from a guard spot - - -he has a 3.6 assist avg - -THAT breaks down to a 3-1 turnover assist ration which leads the team. ( 32-11 )
Leads the team in Steals , Who would of thought this - -Marcus also leads the team in free throw % 86.4 % from the line- -( 19 - 22 ) from the line look how he has improved not even close in this cat the next closest is shooting 80 %
Remember when people cringed when he would shoot the ball ? - - remember when people said he was a non factor on the offensive end ? - -how he was a liability ? - -how they wouldn't even guard Marcus ? now shooting the 3 at a 42 % clip = - - - pretty dam decent - improved dramatically - -Yet people want him to sit more - -we have to have Marcus on the floor. Brings leadership and an all around game -no body better defensively and numbers show he takes care of the ball 11 turnovers in 9 games - -plzzzzzz who is better? - -it's cool you want him to sit - -that's on you Me Myself I'll take a Marcus Garrett any day of the week. -- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

My oldest son and his wife tested positive today. Ugh! They left for Co. Christmas Day with their lil ones, thankfully they were neg. As of last pm, they've just lost their sense of taste. The virus has taken more then 327,000 lives in the US with over 3,000 deaths per day repeatedely recorded over the past two weeks.
In California alone they have recorded more then 23,000 COVID deaths. California's confirmed COVID infection rate case per 100,000 people is lower that's true then the US average BUT it's nearly 40 Million residents means the outbreaks out paces that of other states by shear numbers more then 18,000 people in California are in the hospitals and many intensive care are full - - maxed out.
Another discourgaging thing is the vaccine they were hoping to have 20 Million vaccinated and to this point they only have 1.1 million done. - -Nurses are exhausted, and terrified of what's next , and Angry at those who just ignore Nurse saying " I just wish People could walk down our ward - - JUST ONCE walk down the ward and look at the faces of some of these patients
